I did an app called "Hello Yahoo" and today I made an update. But users said it can't be installed because the package is not signed correctly. And after that the old version can't even be uninstalled because the device thinks it is uninstalled already. I never experience that, but it is reported by many users. I do use a different keystore to sign it with the update. Is this the case? How can I fix this?

I successfully installed Unrevoked3. It was a breeze on a MAC.The main reason I did this install was to run Wireless Tether for Root Users. This is my first Android based device. What else will having Unrevoked3 installed allow me to do?

Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?
I updated the phone to 2.1 earlier, but it's still at 1.6... when I connected to PC Companion prior to the 'update' it said my phone was up-to date so I'm convinced I didn't actually update anything?
When should I be prompted that an update is available via PC Companion? because when I look in the phone settings and check for updates it says there's one available, but not on PCC?
I don't have the Tmo data plan and I still have not got the update yet. Have anyone without the data plan received the update?

How that would work for a pre-installed app? As an initial thought I think I could pop up a message letting the user know there is a new version ready, but if I could avoid unnecessary request to the server it would be better. If a google engineer comes across this please give me a hint as you do this for Google Maps.

Last week I got and update alert for Google Maps. I tried to install it and got a "Install error" "Package file not signed correctly".
What's strange about it is, I already had the version it wanted me to install. Version 3.1.2. It also doesn't show up in aTrackdog but does show in apps drawer and works fine. The market shows that I don't have it installed. All other Google apps are working and show where they should. This started before the C&D order.
I seem to have deleted the navigation app with the blue arrow that was installed with the last update, does anyone know how to get it back? It was really useful.

I'm using these commands:
mv /system/app/PDFViewer.apk /system/app.disabled/
mv /system/app/NewsReader.apk /system/app.disabled/
mv /system/app/com.htc.NewsReaderWidget.apk /system/app.disabled/
Anyone been able to remove these two apps?
I gave the update a chance, for something like a week. Finally put Panda back. I had hoped that the update might make it worth it.
I have no idea what the update was really supposed to do in terms of performance but it's been a zero sum game. I don't give a flaming politician about live wallpaper or exploding gallery icons.
I like Panda's pull-outs that go across all desktops and the alphabetical pull-up. The stock phone is really lacking in terms of app organization. Photo organization too.

I did not have any problems with lag until after this update, and now my phone is constantly lagging, even when I'm texting. Is anyone else having this problem? As for the GPS fix, I don't really see a difference. The GPS on google maps is still off, and as slow as ever, and the Navigation app works for awhile, and then sometimes will go crazy... What exactly was this "update" supposed to fix?

I searched on the internet and it seems that people from my country, with the same phone model and operator are getting the official update... But I still don't have it in my PC Companion... View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I did a hard reset of my Vibrant a few days ago (delete user data). I was able to reinstall most of my apps very easily because the market still had them listed in the downloads section. The only problem is, the preinstalled apps were all reset to their original versions, and I can't update them. The two that I'm concerned with in particular are Google Maps and T-Mobile My Account. If I look at them in the market, the only control available is "Open". "Uninstall" is greyed out and disabled. Basically, the market thinks that I already have the latest version installed, even though I don't, so it doesn't give me the option to update. The My Account app is completely broken. If I try to run it, it just sends me to the market saying that I need to update it. Then of course, the market doesn't give me that option, so I can't use the app at all.
