The calendar widget is frustrating me. I enter details about an upcoming meeting, hit save and the event appears. About 20 seconds later it disappears without me doing anything. I figured I would try to delete the app and reinstall it but when I go to settings/app/manage app and try to delete it, the "delete" function is grayed out. Any suggestions?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI thought I understood that there was no capability to sync with Outlook via the USB cable so I imported all my contacts and my calendar to gmail and that worked fairly well. Except for contact updates being a pain.
The I discovered HTC Sync and installed that. The result was duplicate calendar entries and some, but not all, contact duplicates on the phone.
I deleted the duplicate contacts and re-sync'd so it removed those contacts from Outlook. Luckily I had just backed up my PST file so I was able to get them back.
How to delete all contacts and calender entries from the phone so I can try again.
I have a nokia E71 and will be getting my Desire 8182 soon. i am on the ATT network in north america my questions are 1. what is the easiest way to transfer all the google calender entries to the new HTC Desire 2. Contacts and phone numbers trasnfer to desire?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC calender widget that's sync'd with my Google calender. I have (2) events coming up within the next two days but it shows the second or later one vs the next one. For example, today is "eat lunch at school with my daughter". On Thursday, it's "eat lunch at school with my son". The widget isn't showing today's event, which IMO, it should.Also, for Thursday's event (today is Tuesday), it says:
"Tomorrow, 12-12:30, lunch."
Tomorrow is Wednesday, not Thursday.Anyone else seen issues like this ? If so, were you able to solve them?My phone is an HTC Eris, on VZW, running Android 1.5.

I didn't realize that the "alarm", is a barely audible "ting" sound, only discernible in a silent environment. Initially when I added the Calender as a Widget to my home screen, there is a little open window showing my next appointment(s) for the day or next day. However, I accidentally trashed it and when I tried to add it back to my home screen again, I am unable to get the same and the Calender merely appears as a little icon. Is there any particular setting that I may have missed out?

I'm sure there is a thread on this, but I didn't see one, sorry if there is. The issue I'm having is all the dates carrying over each year. For example, if I put someones bday on july 14th and look at that same day the next year, it shows their bday on the 13th. I tried this on my Aria and on my friends Incredible and Evo. So what gives, is there a fix for this. I've tried downloading several calender apps, but they always just have a different layout and different functions, but in the end they just end up doing the exact same thing.

I'm new to forums, here is my question: I recently got an HTC Desire. I was looking through my calender and saw a birthday of some guy that was synced to my calender through facebook. I couldn't recognise the name so I looked up my facebook friend list and couldn't find this guy listed. I also searched his name on facebook and google and still no luck.
I have established that it is coming from facebook since when I disable the facebook calender, the contact goes away but I am now getting a bit worried since I have some unknown person who is untracable linked to me in some way.
Does anyone have any idea what is happening? and if so how to fix it? and if not able to fix it, how concerned should I be?
When I long press the search key, I get a list of apps to choose from. Is there a way to remove some of the entries from this list? I know I can assign one as a default, but I don't want to do that. I want to leave a couple of the options, but I don't need Handcent and Dialer One to show up there.

With my old phone, MyTouch, Android 1.6, I would export a playlist from iTunes as an .m3u file, and copy that playlist file over to /sdcard/music/playlists so that it would be on my phone. I manually copy all of the music from the playlists into /sdcard/music so that every song that is in said playlists is in the music directory. The music app would take awhile to update and read everything, but once I gave it some time to work, everything worked wonderfully. That was all I had to do.
With my new phone, Incredible, Android 2.2, when I do the same steps, it doesn't work. I open the music app, go to the playlist option, and it thinks and thinks and thinks. Then each playlist will appear, alphabetically, and then disappear, until there are no playlists at all.
I read some forums online and have tried multiple things, and apparently Android 2.2 reads the SD card looking for music, and when reading a playlist, if it can't find any of the songs in the list, it deletes the playlist. The playlist is not only deleted from the list in the music app, but is completely deleted from the SD card entirely.
Here is my concern... When this playlist is exported, it has the path from C: on my computer, because that is where the music is housed on the computer. Moving it to my phone has never been a problem previously because it ignored the C: path and just found the song, without worrying about the additional directory information. But the newer version of Android isn't doing the same thing, I think it's more picky?
Anywho, I need my playlists! I don't want to use MediaMonkey, and the m3u files have worked fine in the past - quick and easy, without having to use additional programs. I really, really, REALLY don't want to have to go through these playlist files and remove all of the path information because these are huge lists, but I guess I might have to. Do you have any other ideas on what I can do to make this work?
I've tried different directories for the playlists on the phone - but I don't think that's the problem because the phone can SEE the playlists, and then deletes them. I've tried creating a playlist on the phone so that I could see the format of it, but the playlist that I created can't be found on the phone. I don't know how the phone creates them, or where it houses them, as I tried to search for it and was unsuccessful.
It randomly selects email, last time it was 1, this time 3. First poll, they disappear out of the inbox, next poll they show up as unread even though they're 2 weeks old. Leaving them as unread doesn't help, they still disappear, and come back as unread, but for some reason not on every poll. Tried to make friends with google, but all I find is other forum complaints that are similar but not exact, with no solutions. And Issue 719: Inbox shows old email. Anybody else going through this? It seems as though they're doing nothing to fix it.

The problem exists in the emulator and also on my HTC EVO with 2.2. On my EVO, the icon stays there when the activity is destroyed and only disappears when I uninstall the app. code...

I see I can access them seperately by using an App called gtask but wondered if there is a way I can set it up so I can see my events and tasks all together on one calander.
