Samsung Captivate :: Possible To Lower Strength Of Vibration?
Jul 21, 2010When I put my phone on vibrate it is to avoid annoying other people. But I feel that the vibration strength on most phones is too high, and although I won't be receiving my Captivate until Friday, I'd like to know if there is an option to do this, with or without root.

Sometimes I need to have alerts silent, and be able to tell that there is a phone call, other times I need to have both message alerts and phone calls be audible. Nov 11, 2010Well the vibration that my phone is on right now is kind of bad so I decided that I wanted to change it, but I couldn't change the level of the Vibration Intensity because its grayed out for some reason. Grayed out meaning that it's un clickable. Any way to fix this? I'm pretty sure that I'm going to end up looking stupid.

I had been assuming that this was simply a matter of changing the name listed in our Market description when we publish an update, but has anyone done this before? May 7, 2010I have a Motorola Milestone running Android 2.1. What is your best app/widget to switch profiles? I want something that allows me to switch among: completely silent, vibration without ringer, vibration with ringer. I currently use the free app "Profiles' by "egg 'n stone". It's ok, but I was wondering if there's anything better.
I know there are plenty of widgets to enable/disable ringer and vibration; I tried several, but most didn't work well, especially when I tried to combine ringer and vibration: i.e. they were ok if I only wanted to enable or disable one of the two, but not both. Coming from Nokias and the Iphone, I must say I'm really disappointed there isn't soemthing integrated in the OS to switch profiles (like with Nokias) or at least a physical button to enable/disable the ringer, like in the Iphone.

Sep 2, 2010I have created the meat and guts of my application but I want to add a different activity that will be the starting point (sort of a log-in screen).
Couple questions:
1) I have a fairly decent handle on how to switch between activities (based on this article: http://www.linux-mag.com/id/7498) but I'm not sure how to go about creating a new one (with eclipse).
2) once I have a new activity created, how can I set it as the default activity of my application? I presume I could just change the name of the classes...but is there a more elegant way to handle that (maybe within the AndroidManifest.xml)?
