Jan 25, 2010If I used AIM, would that count as a text message or be data? And if I went to a web browser and used meebo, would it be a text message?

Nov 11, 2009The Droid is my first smartphone. Before it I was texting with the dialpad, and the phone would count down how many letters I have left (out of 160, the text msg length). Using the "messaging" icon on the Droid it never says when I'm approaching the text message limit. So is this "messaging" icon really like an instant messenger? It's not GTalk, that's another icon. If I send a 250 character txt message through the "messaging" app, does it get broken into 2 messages for the receiver?

Mar 7, 2010I'm about to purchase an Eris, and I'm unsure whether I should order the visual voicemail ($3 per month), or is there a good app available. (I don't know why there isn't a website where I can see all the apps available, why must you do it from your handset only?). And either way, does the notification count as a text message? I don't text much, but I might need to buy a higher level text plan if so.

Apr 25, 2012At the moment I am using CM 7.1 on my Desire HD.
I was wondering if it is possible that when I swipe to clear a notification (in particular messages, I used GO SMS for text messages and Whatsapp) that it counts as a 'read' message. At the moment it just removes it from the notification bar although the message is still unread.
I hope I made clear what I am trying to get across. Is what I am looking for even possible?

Jun 3, 2010Sometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

All of my text threads got erased when I went to reply to someone. The weirder part is that a few hours later, all of my texts had the mail symbol with a green "i" next to it, signifying that it was pending. People receive the messages, but mine all have a pending status.

On the blackberry, I would go to my contacts, shift-roll to select the phone number, and paste it into a new text message. I'm looking for the most efficient way to do this on my droid x. I have found the copy command in different places (sometimes via the menu key and other times via a hold click) but I don't see where I can select specific text. I know there is a feature to send an id card or something like that, but those don't seem to work with a lot of phones.

If I manage to do this, will all the recipients of that message be able to jointly read what everyone says like an email or facebook message? Maybe I'm asking too much?
