I love Helix Launcher 2 with its 3d app scrolling and 4 shortcuts, but is their a home like that with less lag? Because my phone lags nonstop now. Also on a side note. Is their a Ultimatedroid theme for Cyanogen? I <3 Ultimatedroid's theme and thats the only reason I use it over Cyanogen.
I bought the dock for the droid the other day and i really like the home screen that comes up when you plug the phone into it, but i was wondering is there was anyway to access that screen with out the dock. the screen that im talking about is the one with the music player, photo viewer, dimming the alarm clock, etc.
I don't know if this is like a default option but i've found thet my X's entire OS goes into landscape mode, including app tray, browser, apps, everything. I haven't downloaded any apps that do this and while its in this mode it wont rotate back to portrait. The only way I could change it back is by rebooting. I haven't found a way to voluntarily recreate this, it just happens, maybe by a certain combination of keys, but I'd like to know how to recreate this. I'm sure its probably really obvious so forgive me for my obliviousness
Unless I have the keyboard slid open, the home screen doesn't rotate.Apps do, but the homes screen doesn't. I have the auto-rotate open selected in settings. Also, when in my car dock, everything shows in landscape except when I am in a call. The call still shows up in the portrait. It is kind of annoying and lame
The other day I took a trip, put my X in the car dock, and set Nav to my destination. About an hour into my trip, Nav would intermittently close, and would return to the home screen. However, the app wasn't always completely FC'd, but running in the background, and could be returned to by dragging down the Notification bar and reselecting it. This continued for the last 2 hours of my trip and was extremely annoying. Has anyone else experienced this?
Im on the Rom manager 2.1. It's been working for days now and I backup my roms pretty much every day. Today I installed a new app Vlingo and my apps disappeared off my home screen. I restored from 2 days ago, but I'm getting the same thing. The apps load at first, but within 5 minutes, they go away. Then, if I apply some apps on the now empty screens, they will be on top of the old ones when I reboot.
I'm using helixlauncher and normally the four apps that id have on the default home screen are now in the quickbar on the bottom. So Im lookingg for a replacement widget that I can put there so its not so empty.
Surprisingly I can't find any other threads about this. Does everyone here experience some sort of lag or stuttering when flipping through homescreens? If so, have any of you figured out a way to make it smoother? It also happens with the slideout trays on the homescreen.
I downloaded a couple of widgets one having to do with battery, wifi, bluetooth, and volume I believe... Well none of them worked and I'm pretty sure I uninstalled all of them. However on the most right side of the home screen it still says Problem Loading Widget.. Doesn't seem to be causing a problem but it is just really annoying.
I purchased a universal car dock form my moto droid and it fits well. I had to because the car dock from Motorola would not fit with the phone case on it. I usually have the map view while driving, but the screen turns-off. Is there a way or app to not turn-off the screen while using the car-home app.
Well i am new to the droid only had it for about a month. Just wondering how do you add home screens i have the home++ and the Panda and they both only have three. I am looking for more so sorry if this has been discussed before just a new be ha
I am looking for Something that will just allow the home screen to go into landscape when tilted w/o having to load a completely new launcher/home screen app. Is there any stand alone app that will do this?
So when I have my Droid docked in Car Home mode, the screen will stay on when in Navigation, but will timeout as it normally does when I'm just in Maps (ie: if I just want to follow my movement without turn-by-turn directions) or when I'm on a call. For the life of me I can't find screen timeout options specific to Car Home.
Tried to search but couldnt find anything on this.
Here is what is happening with my Droid. I have the official release on my Droid and when I leave and app (Like Dolphin or Handcent) my icons on my home screens take 5-10 secs to refresh and it can take another 5 seconds before my home screen will react to any touches.
Also when I unlock my phone it can take close to 20 secs sometimes (not all the time) for my icons to come in and it takes at least 5 secs no matter what to get my screen to react to any touches.
Is anyone else having this issue? What can I do? Now I almost wish I had never updgraded to 2.2.....
This is more of an annoyance, but whenever I reply to a message off the home screen widget, it automatically defaults to the home number for that contact, instead of replying to the same (cell) number that it was sent from. If I go into the messaging app, it works as it should (replies to the same number).
I used Launcher Pro on my old Droid 1 and I am just trying to figure out whether I want to run it on my X. My question is, what does Launcher Pro offer over the stock home screen app that comes on the X? The stock one now offers a dock at the bottom and has 7 different screens. So, I am trying to figure out the real advantage now.
One thing i absolutely HATE about my Droid INC is the wallpaper is the same for all screens. Can the X display a different wallpaper for each home screen? If not do you know of any Android VZW phones that will?
Slight Update: Now using Slide Screen. Love its simplicity, and the ability to have all in one screen. It'd be nice if they allowed you to change wallpapers, and/or the side color rainbow thing. But all in all I love it. And I am not complaining. Go to Slide Screen by Larva Labs. Or search it in the Market.
I'm running Open Home on my Droid; trying to figure out how to take a screen shot.I have the option for Screen Shot under Menu > More > Screen Shot and it states that the screen shot is captured but I can't figure out where it actually writes the image to?
