problem is as soon as i turn on the network all the apps will update an that 100mb won't last long. is it possible to turn on network to only a small list of apps when using mobile data? I use os 4,3.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe wifi worked fine until I disconnected for the first time. Since then the phone never wanted to reconnect to our private network no matter what I tried. I tried switching the wifi off and back on again. Tried switching the phone on and off again multiple times. I even tried to use a static IP address but that also didn't seem to work. I also tried switching the 'Wi-Fi optimisation' off as well as setting the 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' to 'Always'.
With one of my previous phone (HTC Wildfire) I've experienced the infamous wifi-loop many times (Connecting, Fetching Ip, Connected, Disconnected, Connecting...). But I never experienced that on my Xperia S(Android 4.1) (although I have experienced different wifi problems on it (i.e., IP clashes, etc.)).
The problem is NOT at the modem (I've tried reseting it MANY time and it still doesn't solve my solution. My laptop is successfully connected to our wifi. And I even tried switch the laptop off). The phone itself is not connecting AT ALL to the wifi. It is however connecting to my mobile network.
If I leave my WiFi on, every time the phone encounters a WiFi network I lose data connectivity because it tries to use the WiFi network even though it is passworded and I'm not logged on, instead of me 3G.
How do I prevent this behavior and just have it use my 3G until I'm logged into a WiFi network or the WiFi network has an internet connection?
I am using Micromax Canvas 4 ( Android 4.2.1 ) . I have installed some pirated games on my device and right after 1 week all the signal bars goes down. Now there is no signal on my device from last month. Sometimes they come after 7-10 days and went away the same day.
I have tried these following steps :
1. Rebooting several times.
2. Factory Reset.
3. Changing SIM Card.
4. Changing automatic network selection settings to manual and then to automatic.
P.S. : Whenever I change my SIM card it says " Your phone date is inaccurate". < - - May be this is the reason.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSome time ago i installed a certificate on my phone cause I needed it for my college Wifi.
It automaticly set Screen lock on my phone.
After I uninstalled it I cant get the swipe unlock on my phone back.
I tried restarting the phone, I deleted the certificate but it still wont let me use swipe unlock.
When I try to change it it says "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage."
And only Pattern, PIN, and Password are possible. Swipe, Motion, Face unlock, Face and voice cannot be chosen.
I know there are some 3rd party programs like 'no lock' but is there any way I can fix this?
I have an Android tablet running Jelly Bean that I have always plugged in on my desk and use as a display for a browser based dashboard.I want it to turn the display on at 8:00am and turn off at 5:00pm Monday through Friday. I can't find an app that will do this and I have tried to do it in Tasker with no luck.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I am looking for an app that will automatically turn the lock screen on and off. I am currently running the new SkipLock and it almost meets my needs. The way it works is when I connect to my wifi network at home, my lock screen turns off and there is no need for me to enter a pin when at home. As soon as I disconnect from my wifi network, the lock screen is turned on and my phone is protected.
I hate the PIN lock on 4.3. It's terrible. Just a PIN pad that looks like 5 year old designed. I would love to have the option to do what ever lock screen I would like. Not just password or pin like the above mentioned app only allows.
I've had a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for just over a year. A few weeks ago, I updated to Android 4.2.2 whilst visiting my parent's house and it started continually rebooting itself. I did a factory reset (or two) before figuring out that it's entirely down to the WiFi. If I get in quick enough and don't allow it to connect, the problem stops, and it only occurs with the WiFi at my parent's house (though it always worked fine before the update). I've tried unplugging the WiFi repeater, which was a relatively new addition to the house, but it hasn't made a difference.

I didn't do anything for it to show up, it showed up all by itself. I tried press home or back button, I even tried locking the phone, but it didn't work. So I restarted the phone, it took 30 minutes for it to boot and it showed the same problem with the error "com.android.phone process stopped working". After finding on the forums I decided to hard reset the phone, but when I do, this appears on screen. Is my phone long gone or can I still restore it and use it somehow?

My android 4.1.2 really turns off the wifi when in sleep mode. I see it in the battery monitor.
But after I formated the cellphone, It started with the bug of not turning off the wi-fi in the sleep mode, even when set to do it Maybe some app that I installed before has changed some internal settings!
Before, my battery was lasting almost 4 days, I not use it too much, but now it lasts 2 days only... and I have sure that it's because of the wi-fi bug.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought an ATT S3, running android 4.1.2. I set up the APN as instructed by straight talk and everything works except data... just can't connect to the internet. On my old sprint S3, there is an option to turn data on and off in the top menu bar (when you swipe downwards from the top of the screen), but this option does not exist on this phone. There are buttons for wifi, bluetooth, gps, etc but NO DATA! At first I was thinking it was the APN settings, but now I am thinking there is something else wrong because I don't even see the data button to toggle it on or off. I can't see incorrect APN settings preventing the toggle data option from even showing on the phone.

I trying to find a way to disable the lockscreen completly so I can use widget locker instead without having to swipe twice every time.
I have tried setting the standard lock screen to none but it still starts with the standard swipe lockscreen - I have also tried alot of different apps (noLock, no lock screen, etc) but none of them are able to disable the lockscreen.
I have also searched for solutions (here and a lot of other sites) but a lot of people suggest its a bug in os 4.3.
Running os 4.3 have succesfully been able to disable the standard lock screen.

When I turn it on, I got to Settings > Wi-Fi and it says that it's on but the button is gray and on the right it says 'Turning on Wi-Fi' but it doesn't turn on and a few minutes later it goes back to Off! I got my shiny new Nexus 7 three days ago and connected it to my gmail account. Then I tried searching the play store and it doesn't seem to be working properly - apps like iPlayer and Evernote are 'not compatible with my device' and when I search for other apps I don't get the proper, basic ones like camera, only independently made ones that are less popular. When I try to download these I get an error message - Error while retrieving information from server (RPC:S-7 EOS:AEC-O). So I tried looking for solutions on the internet - sync it, remove Google account and put it back on, I've even tried setting up an entirely new email, but nothing has worked. I've noticed my device has a permanent sync error but nothing has remedied that. This is all terribly annoying as a device is pretty useless without apps, although I managed to download Facebook right when I got the tablet. The internet works fine, and my Wi-Fi is strong.
