I am using Mobile Data.
This problem does not occurs when using wifi.
My os is 4.3.
I m using Samsung S3.
So I updated to 4.3 no problem and a little while later a got some type of a 26 Mb patch. I downloaded it and installed it and since then my wifi will no switch on. I am extremely frustrated with this and I really want to fix this. I would greatly prefer not doing a factory reset if possible.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy husband was playing around with my Android 4.2 tablet and somehow disabled the slide to next page feature and apparently turned on the voice only (not sure if that is what it is called but it says every movement that you make...back, home, you have 10 new messages, etc....SO annoying). I also have to double click to get to anything...SO annoying. I know I have to get to settings, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get to the second page of apps (where the settings is). It won't slide because it's set to double click I guess...no clue!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that the graph my S4 GT-19500 displays to show internal storage used is wrong. I have a 32GB SD card and I move most of the apps across to save space but the S4 doesn't seem to recognise this when it shows internal storage used.
This is my internal storage screen displayed from Settings->More...->Storage
This is what my applications are using displayed from Settings->More...->Storage->Applications
If I add up all the values it comes to around 1GB nothing like the 3GB claimed!
Also if I copy the ENTIRE file system to windows and look at the size of the directory + sub-directories the value is 3.92GB nothing like the 8.92GB that settings claims is there. What is happening here?
Cant change to 3g network... stays on gsm network only.. i change my sim card, lte sim but stays only on gsm... i try to set this *#*#4636#*#* but cant change.. my phone is galaxy s4 (korean version)..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Android D2-912 pad which I use mostly for reading. All my books are stored in the internal storage of the tablet ( 1.2 GB) which is almost full. For this reason , I needed additional space and bought a 16 GB class 10 Lexar Micro Card .The card works pretty well from my PC. The problem is that when the external SD card is in the slot of the D2, neither the internal storage content of the D2 pad nor the SD card show in My Computer, only the empty D2 icon, ,so that I cannot transfer the files. Onjly if I remove the SD card from the slot, then the full internal storage contents of the D2 pops up again, which doesn't work because for the file transfer I need both. .The mounted SD card and its contents, though, show nicely in the Settings/Storage tab of my D2, but even so I cannot do any file transfer .This inability to see the SD card also affects my attempts to expand the RAM with the Roehsoft Swap Ram expander, It works well, except that it does not see the SD card and takes the space for the virtual expansion from the internal storage, which is practically full, so that the expansion is minimal. .
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe wifi worked fine until I disconnected for the first time. Since then the phone never wanted to reconnect to our private network no matter what I tried. I tried switching the wifi off and back on again. Tried switching the phone on and off again multiple times. I even tried to use a static IP address but that also didn't seem to work. I also tried switching the 'Wi-Fi optimisation' off as well as setting the 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' to 'Always'.
With one of my previous phone (HTC Wildfire) I've experienced the infamous wifi-loop many times (Connecting, Fetching Ip, Connected, Disconnected, Connecting...). But I never experienced that on my Xperia S(Android 4.1) (although I have experienced different wifi problems on it (i.e., IP clashes, etc.)).
The problem is NOT at the modem (I've tried reseting it MANY time and it still doesn't solve my solution. My laptop is successfully connected to our wifi. And I even tried switch the laptop off). The phone itself is not connecting AT ALL to the wifi. It is however connecting to my mobile network.
problem is as soon as i turn on the network all the apps will update an that 100mb won't last long. is it possible to turn on network to only a small list of apps when using mobile data? I use os 4,3.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi got the nexus 4. I dont know why everytime i update or install an app and when completed, i got a popup in front bottom that says internal storagespace left: 2gb, 3gb..
its so annoying while updating apps in the background and this kees popping up while an app is done with the update.
If I leave my WiFi on, every time the phone encounters a WiFi network I lose data connectivity because it tries to use the WiFi network even though it is passworded and I'm not logged on, instead of me 3G.
How do I prevent this behavior and just have it use my 3G until I'm logged into a WiFi network or the WiFi network has an internet connection?
I am using Micromax Canvas 4 ( Android 4.2.1 ) . I have installed some pirated games on my device and right after 1 week all the signal bars goes down. Now there is no signal on my device from last month. Sometimes they come after 7-10 days and went away the same day.
I have tried these following steps :
1. Rebooting several times.
2. Factory Reset.
3. Changing SIM Card.
4. Changing automatic network selection settings to manual and then to automatic.
P.S. : Whenever I change my SIM card it says " Your phone date is inaccurate". < - - May be this is the reason.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for just over a year. A few weeks ago, I updated to Android 4.2.2 whilst visiting my parent's house and it started continually rebooting itself. I did a factory reset (or two) before figuring out that it's entirely down to the WiFi. If I get in quick enough and don't allow it to connect, the problem stops, and it only occurs with the WiFi at my parent's house (though it always worked fine before the update). I've tried unplugging the WiFi repeater, which was a relatively new addition to the house, but it hasn't made a difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have free space on the internal memory of my phone that is not recognized for things like installing an app.
This is my phone:
Model: Motorola XT919
Android version: jelly bean 4.1.2
Internal memory: 4gb (really 2,2 gb free since the rest is used by the OS)
Rooted: Yes
I found out about this problem because I was running out of internal space so I inmediately checked the storage settings and I found this:
In the installed apps settings it shows 766 mb free of internal space But in the storage settings the things are different: As you can see, this time I only have 127 mb free of internal storage....
Just to be sure, I downloaded the app Storage Analyser and once again checked the internal storage free space: And this time shows 1,52 gb free...
Well the thing is that my phone considers as free space just the 127mb shown on storage settings, and I want the phone also uses the free space shown on the app settings or the one shown by storage analyser.
I'm looking for a tutorial to Root and then revert back to JellyBean from KitKat on a Nexus 7 2013 2nd Gen, non carrier, WiFi only, or Whatever is required to switch back to JB from KK..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my new phablet that was powered by 4.1
im shocked with how the manufacturer of my device(cherry mobile) designated their storage. the phone storage is 2gb and internal is 500 mb.
it is not a problem if i could write apps on phone storage by default but even though the 'write to phone storage' is checked, when i downloaded an app, the internal storage still losses free space.
so is it possible to extend internal storage?
I have a Coolpad 8720L with its own interface built upon 4.3 Jelly Bean. It's not very good, and I'd like to install stock Android instead. How do I do this?
I heard that I have to root the device, and then find a ROM for stock Jelly Bean to load onto the device?

I select the page where all the apps are...select xbmc app...sometimes it flicks back to main apps page other times the screen turns black/blank. View 1 Replies View RelatedCan any version of Android support simultaneous connections on both a mobile network (e.g. 3G) and a WiFi network? Here's the requirement: I want to connect to a local Wifi network of sensors/devices that is not connected to the Internet, and be able to transmit data to an Internet-connected web server. Obviously quite easy to do on virtually any platform in Java, but it seems that Android does not allow multiple networks/radios to be active at a time. Big flaw, IMO. Should be a configurable option to allow that. With Froyo and mobile hot spot functionality, clearly it is *technically* possible to do, but I don't want to be the Wifi "host", but rather, a "connected client" to another Wifi network, and then do web requests over the 3G network.

I always get an error "App not installed".
I have decompiled the app... But m nt a modder so I dun knw what changes to make in androidmanifest or some other folder to run it..
After I flashed a couple roms I couldn't boot jelly bean anymore and I noticed the error in recovery: E: Cant Mount /efs, when installing. But I could still boot ICS but not jellybean. I still had my IMEI and could make calls but could not boot jelly bean because it couldn't mount.
Sometimes when installing a rom something goes wrong and it changes the partition type of /efs making it unable to be mounted. The partition is usually from ext4 to swap. Most likely this will work on your phone but if it doesn't and your phone stops working I am not responsible.
If your like me and you couldn't get jelly bean to work then flash your device back to ics and it should boot. Once your booted inside of ics we can start the process.
Pre-Setup:
1. Be rooted and have a custom recovery installed.
2. Be on Ics and it boots.
3. Your need to have a Jelly Bean rom like Cyanogenmod on your sdcard.
4. Have adb installed on your pc and usb debugging on in your phone/tab.
Now that that's done its time to start.
Part One:
1. Boot into recovery.
2. We need to find the efs block location.
3. Go to mounts and select efs
4. It should say unable to mount
5. Go to advance and make a recovery.log
6. Put that file on your computer and open it.
7. Look through the file and you should fine something like this around the beginning of the file:
E:Unable to mount '/efs'..Actual block device: '/dev/block/mmcblk0p3', current file system: 'swap'..My location is /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 But yours could be different! Most likely the difference will be instead of it ending with a 3 it will be a different number. I will be saying /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 if yours is different just change it to your location.
*WARNING* Sometimes when you copy paste into adb it will auto run the command without you pressing enter. If your location is different then mine and you copy past and it auto runs it could be BAD so to be careful if you want to copy past. Copy the command paste it into Google make the change and copy that and paste into adb
Part Two:
1. When your inside recovery connect your phone to your computer and get into a adb shell. (Sometimes it will take awhile for adb to recognize your device so be patient.)
2. Once you have adb access its time to start entering the commands.(Again my location may be different the yours! Most likely the difference will be instead of it ending with a 3 it will be a different number.
Part Three Inside ADB:
1. su
2. dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 of=/sdcard/efs.img
3. mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
4. mkdir /efs
5. mount -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 /efs
DONT REBOOT PHONE
Part Four On Your Phone:
1. Now /efs is mounted don't unmount it
2. Do a factory reset
3. Install your Jelly Bean rom
4. It should install without any errors
5. Boot your phone
6. If everything went well it should boot.
7. After it boots your signal notification most likely will be gray and internet or calls may not work
8. To fix just install gapps and it will be fixed
There you have it if everything went correctly your efs should be working good and you should be able to go back and do your normal rom flashing.
If jelly bean boots but you don't have phone do this:
1. Go back into recovery and get adb access.
2. su
3. mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
4. mkdir /efs
5. mount -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 /efs
6. dd if=/sdcard/efs.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 bs=4096
