Feb 8, 2014I have a Polaroid 7'' Dual Core PMID702DC tablet with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and I can't turn on Wi-Fi! When I turn it on, I got to Settings > Wi-Fi and it says that it's on but the button is gray and on the right it says 'Turning on Wi-Fi' but it doesn't turn on and a few minutes later it goes back to Off! I've whacked it on the back a few times and it doesn't turn on! What do I do?

If I disable all apps except one what will the restricted user be able to do?
In an ideal scenario I'd like the restricted user to do only 3 things:
a) turn the tablet on/off
b) turn the application of my choosing on/off
c) all other options would be disabled
d) the restricted user should NOT see any data of the administrator

Dec 6, 2013Well I have S4 I9500 and whenever I tried to connect to my work network after updating to a clean android 4.3*OTA, I receive a notification stating that: This network has been disconnected.You need to sign-in again. This also happened to all 4.3 users in my workplace. 2 colleagues using Note 3 and another colleague using S4 19500. All of us can log onto various networks outside of our workplace like home and coffee shops. After doing some research I found out that I have to turn off wifi optimization but that option is not available in S4.

Dec 3, 2013My android 4.1.2 really turns off the wifi when in sleep mode. I see it in the battery monitor.
But after I formated the cellphone, It started with the bug of not turning off the wi-fi in the sleep mode, even when set to do it Maybe some app that I installed before has changed some internal settings!
Before, my battery was lasting almost 4 days, I not use it too much, but now it lasts 2 days only... and I have sure that it's because of the wi-fi bug.

Jan 28, 2014Some time ago i installed a certificate on my phone cause I needed it for my college Wifi.
It automaticly set Screen lock on my phone.
After I uninstalled it I cant get the swipe unlock on my phone back.
I tried restarting the phone, I deleted the certificate but it still wont let me use swipe unlock.
When I try to change it it says "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage."
And only Pattern, PIN, and Password are possible. Swipe, Motion, Face unlock, Face and voice cannot be chosen.
I know there are some 3rd party programs like 'no lock' but is there any way I can fix this?

Dec 28, 2013So I am looking for an app that will automatically turn the lock screen on and off. I am currently running the new SkipLock and it almost meets my needs. The way it works is when I connect to my wifi network at home, my lock screen turns off and there is no need for me to enter a pin when at home. As soon as I disconnect from my wifi network, the lock screen is turned on and my phone is protected.
I hate the PIN lock on 4.3. It's terrible. Just a PIN pad that looks like 5 year old designed. I would love to have the option to do what ever lock screen I would like. Not just password or pin like the above mentioned app only allows.

Feb 15, 2014Yesterday I was downloading an app from app store (my phone is LG Optimus L9) and suddenly it just displayed a window with only one choice "Restore phone". I didn't do anything for it to show up, it showed up all by itself. I tried press home or back button, I even tried locking the phone, but it didn't work. So I restarted the phone, it took 30 minutes for it to boot and it showed the same problem with the error "com.android.phone process stopped working". After finding on the forums I decided to hard reset the phone, but when I do, this appears on screen. Is my phone long gone or can I still restore it and use it somehow?

Nov 22, 2013I bought an ATT S3, running android 4.1.2. I set up the APN as instructed by straight talk and everything works except data... just can't connect to the internet. On my old sprint S3, there is an option to turn data on and off in the top menu bar (when you swipe downwards from the top of the screen), but this option does not exist on this phone. There are buttons for wifi, bluetooth, gps, etc but NO DATA! At first I was thinking it was the APN settings, but now I am thinking there is something else wrong because I don't even see the data button to toggle it on or off. I can't see incorrect APN settings preventing the toggle data option from even showing on the phone.

Nov 8, 2013The wifi worked fine until I disconnected for the first time. Since then the phone never wanted to reconnect to our private network no matter what I tried. I tried switching the wifi off and back on again. Tried switching the phone on and off again multiple times. I even tried to use a static IP address but that also didn't seem to work. I also tried switching the 'Wi-Fi optimisation' off as well as setting the 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' to 'Always'.
With one of my previous phone (HTC Wildfire) I've experienced the infamous wifi-loop many times (Connecting, Fetching Ip, Connected, Disconnected, Connecting...). But I never experienced that on my Xperia S(Android 4.1) (although I have experienced different wifi problems on it (i.e., IP clashes, etc.)).
The problem is NOT at the modem (I've tried reseting it MANY time and it still doesn't solve my solution. My laptop is successfully connected to our wifi. And I even tried switch the laptop off). The phone itself is not connecting AT ALL to the wifi. It is however connecting to my mobile network.

Oct 15, 2013Often there are wifi points that make the radio connection like an open network, but really require some entering of registration on a web paage before actually connecting to internet. Starbucks here in Japan is an example.
My s4 connects wifi signal to such points, but after it cannot complete the registration, it thinks "no internet", even though it has perfectly strong LTE connection. And refuses to connect via LTE. In such case, I have to turn off wifi and then it's fine.
This is annoying in my office because my group's wifi is different from the one for the building in general, so I have to turn the wifi off and on depending on where I am in the building.
Is there a way to tell the s4 to "ignore wifi that doesn't have internet connection and use Cell signal instead"?

I trying to find a way to disable the lockscreen completly so I can use widget locker instead without having to swipe twice every time.
I have tried setting the standard lock screen to none but it still starts with the standard swipe lockscreen - I have also tried alot of different apps (noLock, no lock screen, etc) but none of them are able to disable the lockscreen.
I have also searched for solutions (here and a lot of other sites) but a lot of people suggest its a bug in os 4.3.
Running os 4.3 have succesfully been able to disable the standard lock screen.

Jan 13, 2014If I leave my WiFi on, every time the phone encounters a WiFi network I lose data connectivity because it tries to use the WiFi network even though it is passworded and I'm not logged on, instead of me 3G.
How do I prevent this behavior and just have it use my 3G until I'm logged into a WiFi network or the WiFi network has an internet connection?

Dec 9, 2013Since two days ago everything was fine and everything worked perfectly, it was almost too good to be true, and of course something had to break. My phone is connected to my home wireless and it even has really strong signal but going on the internet simply doesnt work. Going on with mobile data works, but connected to my main wifi source doesnt. I've been trying everything from dailing *#0011# to changing the ips and gateways and whatever. It can connect to the wifi but going on the internet/facebook/youtube is difficult.
