Jelly Bean :: WiFi Not Turn Off While In Sleep Mode
Dec 3, 2013My android 4.1.2 really turns off the wifi when in sleep mode. I see it in the battery monitor.
But after I formated the cellphone, It started with the bug of not turning off the wi-fi in the sleep mode, even when set to do it Maybe some app that I installed before has changed some internal settings!
Before, my battery was lasting almost 4 days, I not use it too much, but now it lasts 2 days only... and I have sure that it's because of the wi-fi bug.
General :: TAP / Bridge Mode VPN In Jelly Bean?
Jun 6, 2013Has successfully established a bridge mode VPN connection (using TAP) in any version of Jellybean, stock or custom?
It seems that every vpn app in the play store suggests that this can't be done in JB. I'd really like to upgrade to JB, but I really don't feel like reconfiguring my whole VPN setup, just to log on to my home server every once in awhile.
Jelly Bean :: Can't Turn Off Screen Lock
Jan 28, 2014Some time ago i installed a certificate on my phone cause I needed it for my college Wifi.
It automaticly set Screen lock on my phone.
After I uninstalled it I cant get the swipe unlock on my phone back.
I tried restarting the phone, I deleted the certificate but it still wont let me use swipe unlock.
When I try to change it it says "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage."
And only Pattern, PIN, and Password are possible. Swipe, Motion, Face unlock, Face and voice cannot be chosen.
I know there are some 3rd party programs like 'no lock' but is there any way I can fix this?

Dec 28, 2013So I am looking for an app that will automatically turn the lock screen on and off. I am currently running the new SkipLock and it almost meets my needs. The way it works is when I connect to my wifi network at home, my lock screen turns off and there is no need for me to enter a pin when at home. As soon as I disconnect from my wifi network, the lock screen is turned on and my phone is protected.
I hate the PIN lock on 4.3. It's terrible. Just a PIN pad that looks like 5 year old designed. I would love to have the option to do what ever lock screen I would like. Not just password or pin like the above mentioned app only allows.

Jan 26, 2014I have a Galaxy S Advance Gt I1970, running under Android 4.1.2 (official update). the problem is when i try to play games that require the phone sensors, for example Angry Birds Go or Frisbee Forever, the player always go to the left, but then i tried "Ridiculous Fishing" which is also a game that require sensors and it works perfectly but this game doesn't rotate the phone to the landscape mode, then i tried an application called "accelerometer test" and the result was as expected, i can control the ball when am holding the phone in portrait position bust when it's in landscape, everything is missed up.
UPDATE : Problem fixed by downgrading to ginger bread, re-calibrate horizontal acceloremeter and then update to jelly bean again.
Jelly Bean :: Recovery Mode Missing Can't Flash It?
Feb 27, 2014I've got a Chinese phone Pomp W89 and I wanted to put a custom rom on it, I tried to install cwm and twrp but I've found out they don't support my device, so I went on needrom and found a recovery file for my phone which I downloaded and used rom manager to flash.
But I've then worked out the file was corrupted and since then I can't get into recovery mode the phone just showed a brief white screen then boots up normally, it does say recovery mode at the bottom but never goes into it, I then found a complete recovery file for my phone and flashed that but the same thing happens without the brief white screen just a black one then it boots up normally.
I've tried cwm to flash and several other programs and I also then tried the terminal emulator to flash which I think was successful but the exact same thing happens, I just don't understand if the new recovery.img has been flashed why would nothing change? There was already a recovery.img on the phone which I kept a copy of and that makes no difference either.
I was going to flash using my computer but I have windows 8 and can't get the usb drivers to install for the phone.

Feb 15, 2014Yesterday I was downloading an app from app store (my phone is LG Optimus L9) and suddenly it just displayed a window with only one choice "Restore phone". I didn't do anything for it to show up, it showed up all by itself. I tried press home or back button, I even tried locking the phone, but it didn't work. So I restarted the phone, it took 30 minutes for it to boot and it showed the same problem with the error "com.android.phone process stopped working". After finding on the forums I decided to hard reset the phone, but when I do, this appears on screen. Is my phone long gone or can I still restore it and use it somehow?

All of us can log onto various networks outside of our workplace like home and coffee shops. After doing some research I found out that I have to turn off wifi optimization but that option is not available in S4.

Nov 22, 2013I bought an ATT S3, running android 4.1.2. I set up the APN as instructed by straight talk and everything works except data... just can't connect to the internet. On my old sprint S3, there is an option to turn data on and off in the top menu bar (when you swipe downwards from the top of the screen), but this option does not exist on this phone. There are buttons for wifi, bluetooth, gps, etc but NO DATA! At first I was thinking it was the APN settings, but now I am thinking there is something else wrong because I don't even see the data button to toggle it on or off. I can't see incorrect APN settings preventing the toggle data option from even showing on the phone.

Oct 27, 2013I'm on Virgin Mobile, LB Optimus F3 4G LTE (it wasn't an option in the forums, so I came here instead). Not sure if this is an Android feature or an LG feature.
Anyway, this thing called "Quiet Mode" will randomly turn itself on at nighttime or in the middle of the day with no warning and silence all sounds and block calls from all contacts. This is obviously frustrating. I'm not bumping it in my pocket or anything -- you can't even turn this mode on without unlocking the screen and scrolling all the way over in my top pull-down bar. For instance, it's been sitting on the chair next to me for the last two hours and I just checked it and it's been in Quiet Mode for who knows how long.
I can add contacts to the allowed calls list, but I still won't hear the ring, and I can only add a limited number of contacts. Also, all the writing within this mode is really poor English, which is odd. Example: "Please mind that incoming calls with exactly the same numbers with below list will only be allowed." Anyway, it can be scheduled for certain times and I'm going to try scheduling it for just one minute from 4:00 - 4:01 AM every night and see if that satiate its compulsion to be in control.
Any ways I can keep it from doing this otherwise? It doesn't appear to be an app that I can fiddle with.

I trying to find a way to disable the lockscreen completly so I can use widget locker instead without having to swipe twice every time.
I have tried setting the standard lock screen to none but it still starts with the standard swipe lockscreen - I have also tried alot of different apps (noLock, no lock screen, etc) but none of them are able to disable the lockscreen.
I have also searched for solutions (here and a lot of other sites) but a lot of people suggest its a bug in os 4.3.
Running os 4.3 have succesfully been able to disable the standard lock screen.

I know it can't be open two of them on the same window but it should be open with other apps on the same window on Galaxy Note 3.
