Attention

A server error has occurred.

Is anyone else experiencing this annoying error regularly when trying to use the Market ?
"A network error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen."
I've been getting this for the last few weeks both on wifi & 3g, always when I have good connectivity on both voice and data.
I can see a few posts about it on the net going back to last year (none with any solutions) but I just wondered if it's affecting people on-mass (if so then it's obviously a network issue as it says).
I can usually hit Retry a few times and it eventually works but it can take several attempts.
I keep getting a network error using both wifi and 3G; definitely know that both of my connections are good using them for everything else. Anybody else?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since I've had my HTC Hero, the internet connection has been really flaky. That is, about half the time it works ok, but with a slow start, and the other half it doesn't work at all, and comes up with either a "cannot find page" in the browser, or "a network error has occurred" in Market or other apps.
I bought into the Hero thing because I wanted a mobile internet device and my iPhone wasn't cutting it with the lack of Flash. But at least my iPhone always worked!
The problem I'm having is this:
No matter whether I'm on wifi or not, browsing for a webpage in any of the available browsers (standard, steel, dolphin), has a delay of about 5 seconds, and then either starts loading the page, or comes up with some kind of "page not found" error. This happens with all websites, including the home page of google, which isn't exactly big or unreliable, except on my Hero.
Also, any app that uses an internet connection, such as Market, more often than not comes up with "a network error has occurred". Clicking "retry" rarely works.
Now if it was just through wifi, I would think it might be the setup of the routers that I've tried it on, allthough I've tried it on 3 completely different types of router, all with same symptoms.
I've also done much testing with wifi switched off, and still the same issues.
I could understand it if it just didn't work ever under either wifi or other, but sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
I have done my wifi tests while sitting right next to the routers, with maximum signal reception being indicated.
Ok, so it tells me that "a network error has occurred". Is there some way of finding out exactly what the error was? Was it a timeout, or a DNS error, or what?
Anyone Else experiencing their network going off and on through out day? I cant use internet or market or anything all day now. Its like it chooses when it wants to have network.
This started around two weeks ago and has now just started to annoy me. I have tried *228 both options and baseband is at 2.15, does anyone have any suggestions for what the problem is.
When trying to make a phone call nothing happens for about a minute then a message pops up saying network busy try again later. It happens overtime I am in this area of about 90 miles!
I have full 3g bars.
Under -80 db signal
Can receive phone calls fine.
Can use the internet fine.
Tried reboot.
Tried prl update.
Tried factory reset.
Tried downgrading to stock 2.1
Had Verizon send me a new phone. fixed the issue for about a week then came back.
Verizon has not heard of this problem.
Other Verizon people even with an incredible doesn't have this problem.
Seems to be getting worse. It used to only happen in the Toledo Ohio area. Now it doesn't work for most of the Ohio area.
I can not buy applications from market.. I can download free apps no problems but when i try to purchase any, I put my card details in, then click the buy button, a processing note comes up stating; "saving card details" then after about 15 seconds it says; Attention server error. and it does not process the transaction. It says to retry or cancel.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone lately get the Google talk authentication error notification repeatedly and find that they can no longer download apps from the Android market? Mine is going on the third day now and endless Google searches reveal that this problem has affected various Android devices worldwide, including the Incredible that just came out. I've tried all kind of suggestions but none work and there doesn't seem to be any official response from Google on the matter. I wonder if it is a hardware problem since these forums are not buzzing on these issues at all. In my case the phone worked perfectly for 2 days after activating and knowing how high the demand has been surely more people would be experiencing the same issues were it a device or cloud software problem. If anyone else has the same problems please post here.
View 3 Replies View RelatedYup, its been released. Its free and you can get it on the the market. Its decent. But I would much rather prefer a port of the iphone version. The biggest letdown was no implementation of chat.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I had a terrible time activating this phone. But the problem now is that under the settings<wireless & networks the mobile network part says "turning on" but it's greyed out, and has a green check mark by it. It flashes something real brief, and goes back to the same. Anyone know what I can do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just noticed while upgrading from the "pulled" 2.2 to the "official" 2.2 some of my purchased apps are no longer available from the market. Cannot be found at all. Someone said that Google has to approve every new ROM to get complete access to the market. I was just wondering if it is I who have the glitch or if anyone else has the same problems. I have heard from two other sources (in Sweden) who have the same issues.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI wonder if anybody has ran into the issue where a running emulator would lose network connection all at a sudden for no obvious reason. And I am sure the computer running the JVM is still online.Restarting the emulator seems to fix the issue but it's been a major PITA for me as it interrupts the work flow.I am using 2.1 SDK 7.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Desire HD on Orange UK. In the market I have only ever seen apps & books. I have never seen movies or music listed. I have, until now, assumed that these were probably only available in certain countries because of licensing agreements.
I was discussing the rebranding to Google Play with a colleague, only to find out that they have, and have done for a while, a section in their Market /Play Store for movies. They have an HTC Desire S on T Mobile UK.
Why would I not have movies available via my market? I'm guessing that it wouldn't be handset compatibility, so would it be that Orange are blocking this for some reason? Who else, in the UK, has the movies option, and who doesn't? What is the common ground between each group?
They do not have music as a Market section, so I guess that I was right about this, and it is not available to the UK at all?
How soon will we be seeing Android 2.2 with Sense UI available for our phone?
Here is the place for people who have credible information (as credible as it usually gets around here, anyway ) to post it, whether it be info about HTC's official release, or even a ROM that can safely be applied to the phone to be up and running with 2.2 + Sense.
We see the bigger font for Agree and disagree buttons for the Alert dialog when the network provider is selected in the location settings menu. Any pointers or suggestions which part of the framework code need to take a look. This dialog is controlled by Networklocation.apk which is not open source.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having an issue with their 3g/edge network not working? View 6 Replies View RelatedWith the stock Touchwiz software you can not access the normal Android Settings menu for Location and by default the "Network Location" function is disabled.I installed Open Home (which is a must for this phone imho) and now I can access the classic settings menu.I enabled Network Location then launched Google Maps. After a second or two it centered on a road in Bellevue, WA that is not too far from T-Mo headquarters, problem is I am on the East Coast of the US. I pulled the battery and reboot the phone.Upon reboot I opened Google Maps again and it quickly found my approx location correctly but then within a second or two it switched back to this phantom location in Washington state.Has anyone else experiences this? If so is this a glitch with my phone or a known issue with the TouchWiz/Android OS? I really need this functionality in order for the phone to be useful for me. Anyone know of a fix for this?
View 21 Replies View RelatedI had contacted 3UK about my constant week signal. They told me to upgrade to latest software.1.22.771.1.WTF I am on 2.10.45.2, surely this is the latest? anyway, they are ringing back.In the mean time, should i try a sim from another network? My phone is sim free and unbranded so trying my orange or tesco sim? The only thing, would it mess up all my settings?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Hero and have set up my email with the exchange (aka my work email). I get all my emails but when I try to open an attachment, it tells me "Alert... Network Error". Is there anything I can do to be able to download and view my attachments.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought 2 Droids and they are about 4 days old. Since the first day we have gotten them we have been getting this message, "a network error has occurred retry or cancel and return to the previous screen." This happens 2 or 3 times a day at least over 3G and wifi. Anything using the Internet won't work including the market and the browser. From what I have researched a lot of people have been getting this error but I haven't found a fix yet, anybody know what I could do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to see if anyone else is getting this message AFTER you upgraded to 2.2?
Network Error - The network connection failed. Press Retry to make another attempt. <Retry> <Cancel>
(Now this is only under the option of "Box Office" on the Movies App, everything else works just fine...Theatres, Upcoming, DVD, & My Movies)
I have a S4 (SGH-I337M) with Android 4.2.2 installed on it, Not Rooted, Not unlock. I can't access to mobile service network, my SIM card works with other phone, but when i plug it in my galaxy s4 it detect network for 2 ou 3 seconds then it turns to No service and than detect for 3 seconds and ... so on. i have tried to search for available networks (setting-> other network -> mobile-> search for networks) it displays error while searching for network.
I tried many options, reboot, filght mode on-off, recovery, reset, and nothing worked.
So for the last few months every time I try to sync TB with Dropbox, box, or drive it immediately fails with the message "Upload Failed: Network Error". This happens on every wifi network I've tried. Been searching the Googles for a good while and See other people are having the same issue. Someone suggested that it fails because of apps that exceed like 180mb in size. I have since excluded those apps from the backup but still no deal..
View 9 Replies View RelatedI Have Upgraded my SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB GT-P1000 with Clockwork recovery mod & installed MIUI Rom To convert it into icecream sandwich.
I'm Facing with 2 problems now-
1) I have no network coverage whatsoevr i do.I cannot call or text ot use the GPRS.
2) The automatic keypad which is supposed to pop up does not when i have to type anything.
I have tried Changing all possible settings n rebooting n reinstalling the ROm..!
My phone has worked without a problem till last nite. I had a few texts and calls early eve with no issues at all then later on when I tried a text it kept giving me a 'message not sent' message? At first I thought it was an Orange issue so didn't worry too much but this am it's still the same? On doing a bit of investigating I have found I can no longer make calls either. If I try it it doesn't even get too a dial tone it just beeps and returns to the initial call screen.
The phone is showing full signal strength? When I go too call settings>additional settings it shows 'network or SIM error'. I have put my SIM into another phone and it works fine and another SIM that I know works into my Desire and have the same issues so it must be the handset. What do you lot suggest? If I do a factory reset will I loose all my photos etc. from my memory card? Or could I just un-mount it and then reset?
