View 3 Replies View RelatedWe just implemented Exchange 2010 at our company within the past year, and up until now, we weren't enforcing a security key for devices with Exchange accounts attached to them. Our systems team is currently implementing some security features including the required security key and a remote-wipe tool.
I tested the remote wipe tool on my Asus Transformer, which is running a custom Jellybean ROM and Rogue Recovery, and the wipe actually worked. I was a little surprised to see it work, I figured the custom recovery would cause it to fail.
Is there anyway to screw over the remote-wipe tool?
I have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy phone was just stolen and so I am temporarily using an older Gingerbread device I had laying around. The problem is that my wife used it for a period of time and so its "locked" to her Google account. I realize that with root its fairly easy to disassociate the device from the primary Google account, but I have been unable to find out how to do it WITHOUT root. I really don't want to fully wipe the device if possible! The phone in question is running 2.3.4.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNow, it is the holder of the smartphone HTC One (you know, no SD card slot), and from the beginning there is a problem with the function called "Protected archive". If you try to select it and other miscellaneous copy is returned in dyku message "Sorry, the operation failed".
HTC is ROOT, S-Off. I use a ROM called "ViperOne v1.1.1," but on other ROMs is the same problem.
Changing the backup directory in the preferences of the Titanium Backup does not work. I tried the method described here: [URL]... but it also does not give the result and does not change the situation.
Other features TitaniumBackup working properly, except for the protection of files: (((
What to do to be able to protect (selected) copies of the program TitaniumBackupPRO? I do not have the support to count - they do not write off
I have a M919V Galaxy S4 which is compatible with both the i9505 roms and M919 (TMO) roms. I was on a i9505 TW rom and I decided to download a rom from the TMO section. When moving from a i9505 rom to a M919 rom, I had to flash the recovery corresponding to the model. So I downloaded the T-Mobile version of Philz Recovery, but I got a status 7 error. Then I downloaded the md5 version and flashed it via odin 3.07. It was successful. After flashing the recovery, I flashed Beanstalk rom for the t-mobile variant. Everything went fine until I tried to make a android of my current setup for Beanstalk. I kept getting errors. When I plug my phone in (with my sd card), and try to add or delete something, it say "remove write protection and try again". So I tried connecting my sd card to my sd card adapter. When I delete files from my adapter, the error message doesn't show up. BUT... after disconnecting and reconnecting it again, the files are back where they were. I tried reformatting it but nothing happens. It seems like my sd card is only read as write protected when connected to my phone but it has no idea which state it's in when connected to the sd card adapter.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing MX Player. It worked best. All you have to do is have the username and password put in together into the URL after http, but before the URL of the video file. So lets say the directory is protected by the username FrancisFord and the password is Copola and the URL is URL...., you would enter this address when streaming from a URL:
URL.....Remember to remove the www from the URL and that the username comes first then the password seperated by a colon, followed by the @ symbol. URL....
So, I have video's uploaded to my personal site. I password protected the directory with .htaccess. The permissions of the videos are set to 777. If I surf to the directory of the video through the browser on my Galaxy S II, it asks for a username and password and then displays the files that are there. When I click on a file, it tells me that I cant play the video and thats with any video player I use. If I try to play the video in my browser itself by putting it into something like JW player, it also doesn't work. The only time it works is when I unprotect the directory. Then it streams it fine.
I am using A Samsung Galaxy SII (s2) or Epic 4G touch from Sprint. I have Cyanogen Mod 10, beta 2 with Jelly Bean on it. I use the built in browser and also Chrome. The video players I have tried using to no avail are:
Daroon Player
ES Media Player
MX Player
FPlayer
Rockplayer lite
Showtime Player panel
Stock Android Video player.

The open source nature of Android has come back to bite Google, with what may be the first piece of malware finding its way onto the Android Market.
MemoryUp is supposedly designed to clean up the T-Mobile G1?s memory, but it?s being a bit too vigorous and wiping the internal memory of the G1 as well as the inserted SD card in some cases. One user, ?kr33p1n?, complains that it ?Doesn?t work at all erased my phone numbers and froze my phone,? and many others seem to be in agreement, with the program clocking up several hundred one star ratings already. So, a devious Windows Mobile, BlackBerry Storm or Palm Pre employee behind it? Or just some jerk cranking out cackhanded code? We don?t know, but all of a sudden, Apple?s closed App Store and opaque approval process seem very enticing.........
I followed the instructions here: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-hero/76717-how-increase-battery-life-performance-your-new-shiny-rom.html but didn't see the option to wipe battery stats. Am I using the wrong recovery image to the on in the thread, and if yes is there another way to do that? my battery life SUCKS.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted and became, as many of the rest of you have, addicted to flashing new ROMS. I get the feeling that this addiction will need to be fed more and more as leaks of 2.2 start poking out since it is now rumored to be coming. However, this causes an issue for me. My company was very reluctant to let me move away from the blackberry and to the Droid and have recently decided that I have to use the Goodlink Enterprise app for email. If/when I do a data/cache wipe because I've changed ROMS I cannot re-activate the email without my IT department generating a new PIN for me.

Some of the stuff I have been reading online have said that in order to get the update, an unrooted phone is needed. So, I've been trying to figure out the best way to unroot my phone! All of the methods I've seen require wiping the phone in order to unroot it (ie. Root & Unroot your Droid Incredible now! | Gadgets DNA) Is there a different way to unroot the phone without wiping it back to the stock Incredible ROM?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAccording to several statements and threads by several people: Froyo has a built-in feature that if you wipe it will RETAIN your apps (at least some of them). So if you are having issues with an app, and you wipe and re-flash, that app may still be there with the same issues. I have already experienced this. As far as I know, no other ROM has this issue.
While the phone is booted:
1. Menu>Privacy>Factory data reset
2. Go into recovery
3. Completely wipe everything and I do mean EVERYTHING
4. Move ROM back over to Sd card and flash it

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am finaly getting somewhat comfortable with flashing and nandroid backup/restores.
I forgot to wipe before restoring a nandroid (DC2.08.1) last night, and subsequently have made some changes. Everything seems to be working OK. I will make a new Nandroid backup.
Is there any benefit to then wiping and restoring that new nandroid backup? Or will the backup just re-install what I have just wiped? Sorry, I don't understand what exactly is being wiped.
I think I've got a memory leak somewhere. I'm running DC v2.08.1 and I've got a low memory error. It may be because I flashed from Fresh 2.0D to this without wiping, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any ideas how I can figure it out without wiping. I'd really rather not wipe again.
