Games :: Fun Little WordFued Tournament
Aug 18, 2010Thought I'd try and arrange a fun little WordFeud tournament, simple one game match up with an opponent from this thread, winner progresses to play the winner of another match up etc etc until we have a champion. Knockout style like the football World Cup for example.You must post your WordFeud name in this thread before midnight end of Saturday 21st August UK time to participate and I'll get things organised on Sunday. No late entrants.Perhaps have a rule where games must be completed in 48 (or would people prefer 72?) hours, otherwise can't think of much else that needs saying - post if I've missed something obvious. just thought, you'll also the need to post results (and scores) in this thread upon game completion.

Jan 23, 2010I downloaded the doom for android apk from Doom.for.Android.apk - doom-for-android - Doom for Android (FREE) - Project Hosting on Google Codeand installed it on my hero and whenever i attempt to open it i just get force close right away. anyone having this problem or know how to get it to work? i tried restarting my phone but didnt help.

Feb 5, 2010I recently got the HTC G2 Touch and sometimes it is a great phone and sometimes it's the most expensive brick i've ever bought. I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of questions,
1. I'm surprised the phone doesn't have a music equalizer. Are there any apps that do this?
2. Toon Warz lags on my phone quite alot. Is there anything I can do to speed it up?
3. When I play a song there is a stutter at the beginning of each song, is there any way to stop this? And when I press pause it doesn't pause straight away, or when using the buttons on the headphones.
4. Why can't I find Doom on the market? I've searched literally everything!
5. If I buy a game, does it just get charged onto my phone bill?
6. I know that you can uninstall a game within 24 hours and you won't be charged, but couldn't you just uninstall and reinstall an app every 24 hours and not get charged?
I know that this isn't the G2 Touch part of the forum but this area gets more views and the phones are practically the same!

Oct 13, 2010I am wondering what the best way to render a tournament draw (scrollable) might be for android. Since I am new to this, I was not sure whether to invest time creating a ListView sort of thing or dynamically building html pages and rendering them with WebView. Or I could plop everything into a regular scrollable text view, perhaps. The main requirement is that I would need the tournament participants to be individually clickable.

Jul 25, 2010I'm very new to the android phone's (Just got my HTC hero three days ago.) and I was wondering, are there any good resident evil games for the htc Hero? I've seen some awesome one's on iphone and I used to have some fun Resi games on my old E71.
While I'm on the subject of gaming I have also downloaded the snesoid light and find the music and gaming a little sluggish. Is this just how it is or is there anything I can do to sort that? Would the full paid version work any better?

Mar 26, 2010Well after thousands of votes in the Android Tournament two phone have came out on top to this point....The Samsung Moment vs The Nexus One so now is your time to crown the king.Here is how the final four played out.The Samsung Moment vs The Motorola Droid.In a very exciting match-up the Motorola Droid was placed against the Samsung Moment and the voters came out in full force. The Samsung Moment came out to an early lead on day one and went up by 8% but by day two the Droid had cut the gap to 3%. On day four many people were surprised by the amazing comeback that Droid fans produced, Droid votes came from all forums and let the Droid taste its first day on the top of the poll but that would be its only time on top. Yesterday the Moment went on top in a big way and made sure it stayed that way.
The final score was: The Samsung Moment finished with 52% (968 votes) and The Motorola Droid finished with 48% (906 votes)The HTC MyTouch 3G vs The Nexus One.The other match-up between the Nexus One and the MyTouch 3G wasn't as exciting.The Nexus One took and huge lead early and cruised to victory. Oct 31, 2009The only thing I am disappointed with is the low quality graphics of the games. Other than asphalt3 I haven't found any good ones.

Oct 15, 2009I've had my hero for several weeks now, and i've barely used the trackball at all; once or twice for fine tuning the cursor position (functionality that could easily be replicated by a couple of cursor softkeys) and when using the camera (which is only because they *make* you use the trackball).
I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see android phones released in the near future without the trackball.
I wouldn't mind, but i searched the app store and i couldn't find a marble madness clone anywhere! Does anyone use the thing on a regular basis or find it indispensable in any other way? Any good apps or games that make use of it?
While I'm at it - i dont think i've EVER pressed the call button (furthest one on the left), always use the touchscreen instead. I just pressed it now for the first time to see what it would do, and accidentally dialed somebody, they just called me back to see what i wanted, because all they could hear was the clacking of keys as i typed this post.

Mar 7, 2010Ever since I bought my hero in December, I have had this problem where if I'm in a game, and it requires the screen to be touched, the game stutters. This happened when I had the stock 1.5. I needed to trade my hero for another when a lot of dust showed up under the screen, so Sprint gave me another one, only this one worked perfectly. No stuttering at all. So I decide to root it, and now it's running Aloysius, and the stuttering is back. Does anyone know what could be causing this? It happens in both the official and unofficial firmware. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Games it does this in includes: Nesoid and snesoid, and Raging Thunder to name a few. These games worked perfectly to my shock when I got the new phone, as I originally thought it was just a hero problem. I even emailed the developer of Nesoid but he didn't know the cause. Any suggestions?

I know we get the Android MLB At Bat app which gives you audio to all games, which isn't bad for $15 bucks for the season, and for me it's worked well... But the Ipod gets video in their At Bat app if your an MLB.TV subscriber. And I just wanted to know if anyone tried to just use our browser to get the games in the same fashion one might on a pc.

Jul 10, 2010Seriously, emulation is not good for performance, but most roms running on gensoid look and play better that games developed for Android. Sonic 3 looks lovely, runs at 60fps and never stutters. It even seems to look higher rez than most Android apps.Android platformer games are nowhere near as good looking or smooth.So what the hell is going on? The hardware on top end Android phones (Desire, galaxy etc) is clearly capable.
