What are some apps where I can like play games and socialize with other Android users....
First, hi, new Hero owner (1 week now) and I love it. I've been reading the forums here since I got it and I have to say, you guys are very helpful.I'm an avid facebook user and I've been breaking in to twitter recently. Currently I'm using facebook for android and i tweet (read the peep warning thread) and was wondering if there were any better apps for these? Also, since so many sense UI widgets seem to have troubles with taking too much memory, I wondered if I should find a different mp3 player than the stock music player/widget?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to know if some of the facebook apps like Farmville, Social City, Cafe' World etc would be able to play on the evo. sorry if this question was asked already.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo are there any Poker apps that let you play with two people on the same phone? Much like one they have on the iPhone, where each player has one side of the phone (like "2 Player Reactor" on Android, if you've played that).
All I see are online poker apps and poker calculators etc.
Any clues?
On my phone I have the Facebook app downloaded from the market. I also noticed that the phone comes bookmarked with Facebook.
So here is my question, under Menu>Settings>Social Network> Facebook appears there. I have that set to update every 12 hours.
HOWEVER, my actual Facebook App is set to update every 2 hours.
So... does the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook control my facebook app or just the bookmark that comes pre-installed on the phone?
I am trying to save battery life, and I noticed that the settings under Menu>Settings>Social Network>Facebook were set to update every hour, but I had the settings under the downloaded app to update every two hours. My goal is to have only one facebook medium updating so I don't drain battery life!
I just received an MP4 video that plays really well on my Hero. But it is not visible in the photo gallery of my phone. It's grayed out. When I go into my SD card with a file manager and click on it the movie will play perfectly but it won't play though the photo gallery manager. My real issue is that I have to go into a file manager to find the file and play it instead of using a widget to call up a program that will play it. There is obviously something in the phone that can handle the MP4 format and I just need to know what program to use.

How can I listen to music and browse the web/play games/use other apps? Every time I start the music player and then hit home or back, the music stops. I've tried it using the speaker and the headphones. I have seen at some point the music player widget in the notifications bar so I know it can be done, but I just can't find the setting to make it work. Also, how do I access the equalizer?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to remove pre-installed programs?
For example, the following programs were pre-installed:
Amazon MP3
Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?
Sprint TV
Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
As you know if you have Donut or Galaxo roms on your I7500, you cant install some appsa and games like Hero of Sparta, Nova,Skype, etc. "Application could not be installed on this phone." alert appears.I installed Gaosp Nightly but it was not stable enough for daily use so I had to turn back to donut rom. (Lags, Force closes, etc. on Gaosp cause its still beta)Is there a way to install these games or apps on Donut rom?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've had my hero for several weeks now, and i've barely used the trackball at all; once or twice for fine tuning the cursor position (functionality that could easily be replicated by a couple of cursor softkeys) and when using the camera (which is only because they *make* you use the trackball).
I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see android phones released in the near future without the trackball.
I wouldn't mind, but i searched the app store and i couldn't find a marble madness clone anywhere! Does anyone use the thing on a regular basis or find it indispensable in any other way? Any good apps or games that make use of it?
While I'm at it - i dont think i've EVER pressed the call button (furthest one on the left), always use the touchscreen instead. I just pressed it now for the first time to see what it would do, and accidentally dialed somebody, they just called me back to see what i wanted, because all they could hear was the clacking of keys as i typed this post.
Is there a way to play nintendo games using apps for this if so how?

View 5 Replies View RelatedEver since I bought my hero in December, I have had this problem where if I'm in a game, and it requires the screen to be touched, the game stutters. This happened when I had the stock 1.5. I needed to trade my hero for another when a lot of dust showed up under the screen, so Sprint gave me another one, only this one worked perfectly. No stuttering at all. So I decide to root it, and now it's running Aloysius, and the stuttering is back. Does anyone know what could be causing this? It happens in both the official and unofficial firmware. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Games it does this in includes: Nesoid and snesoid, and Raging Thunder to name a few. These games worked perfectly to my shock when I got the new phone, as I originally thought it was just a hero problem. I even emailed the developer of Nesoid but he didn't know the cause. Any suggestions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHey does anybody know if you can use your hero to view MLB.TV games through the MLB site? I know we get the Android MLB At Bat app which gives you audio to all games, which isn't bad for $15 bucks for the season, and for me it's worked well... But the Ipod gets video in their At Bat app if your an MLB.TV subscriber. And I just wanted to know if anyone tried to just use our browser to get the games in the same fashion one might on a pc.
