When I get a call, so far it's my mother who has tried to call me up and each time she calls..When I go to answer my phone it says "Call from mom..Press 1 to answer" or something like that Why the hell does it ask me to press a number before I take the call? I am on T-Moble, on a Flexpay account if that matters running Firmware version 1.6

Hey I have a motorola cliq and everytime someone calls, I have to slide to answer. Well everytime I try to slide it doesn't answer at all. Any suggestions to help?

Plugged in the phone - my XP Prfessional never asked me for anything - just simply told me that "Hardware is ready to use" 2. In the phone - mounted USB - no problem accessing phone's SD which is mounted as a drive 3. Disconnected phone and in developer setting enabled Settings- >Applications->Development->USB debugging.

The swipe up/down feature is terrible since it results in many undesired call answers and ignores while removing the phone from my pocket. I know that it's possible to simply have the 'answer' and 'disconnect' buttons present, but that's even less useful. Has anyone ever implemented a different means of answering calls for this phone? I've been searching for this since I got it.

I tried the dot code thing in security but that did not work for answering the phone. So does this happen with your HTC EVO ?
I would love the iphone style swipe entry to the phone, Also the battery sucks and the 4G burns out the battery in 2 hours. I have the app killer thing. So I can not answer a phone call with the phone in my pocket.I love this phone and I left an iphone after 3 years and would not go back. Am I the only one having an issue answering an incoming call if I'm on the other line? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Incredible but this is quite an issue for me. It will show the call waiting, yet I cannot answer it to save my life. I have tried the mylockphone tools which is great but whether that is activated or not, I still can't grab the incoming call. Ultimately, I let the person I am speaking to go and then have to call the other person back. What am I doing wrong? I recall my Moto Droid having the same issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAbout 25% of the time my phone will ring and I go to swipe the lock to answer the call and I get no response from the slider. If and when it does decide to slide the call has already gone to voicemail. And if I turn the slide screen off in settings and the phone rings, tapping the "answer call" button does nothing (again, not all of the time).
I just tried to duplicate it calling my DX from my workphone and it slides fine and answers the call. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing the slider to not slide some of the time? Other than with answering the phone I've had no problems with the touch-screen.
I am really happy with my Droid Eris, but there is one exception. I listen to Pandora on my phone almost daily at work. I have a radio that has an audio input so I connect my phone and play it through the radio. The problem is when someone calls me. I usually don't answer and call them right back from the work line, but sometimes, like today, I get frustrated and I want to answer the cell. First, if I don't disconnect the headphone jack the person calling cannot hear me. Second, if I disconnect it and take the call as soon as the call disconnects the music starts and it is usually blaring! This happened today and I was so embarrassed when the song 'Broken Wings' by Mr. Mister went blaring and about 30 people could hear it and the phone was not responding to turn it off! I really hope someone can help me with this issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having an awful time with my Eris when it comes to picking up calls and an even worse time dialing out. Everything is delayed after pressing keys. This morning I went to dial someone and when it didn't dial I set the phone down to use my office phone and then out of the corner of my eye I see it was calling the person. Once I had the person on the phone w/in a minute my cheek (I'm assuming) ended the call.
So the screen was in the call history list so I pressed his name again to call and it called the next person below on the list. It was probably adding his name to the call history and moved the list but because it was delayed it dialed the wrong person. I love this phone except for phone Calls. I'm going into Verizon today to complain. They will be able to tell from my call history how frequently I'm missing calls because the phone doesn't pick up and then I redial back. 5 calls back and forth for a 2 minute conversations!
I just got my Motorola Droid 2 weeks ago and I've been having problems answering phone calls about half the time. When I answer them I hear no sound at all that's pretty much it lol I have the volume up so I'm positive its not that xD plz help this is getting annoying.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought this phone from Rogers (I still have a week to test this thing out to make sure it's not broken) I'm noticing that answering incoming calls can sometimes take up to 20 seconds before the other side can hear me! I can make calls and people can hear me as soon as the call begins but I'm answering the phone after it has shut itself down (I mean the screen goes dark and then I need to slide the slider on the screen to answer the call) SOMETIMES there will be a few seconds delay, sometimes nothing but I've had up to 20 seconds delay on multiple occasions I'm running 1.6, and from the sounds of it, we won't get 2.1 until next month but is ANYONE else getting these issues? Should I return this phone for another? This is inexcusable and I am having too many callers hang up the phone on me because they think they have a bad connection but in reality there is a delay before they can hear me.

It seems the phone is rubbing against my leg and answering the call. Obviously locking the phone does not help, since you can answer a call without unlocking the phone. Anyone know an app, or alternative solution to keep this from happening?

The Remotecall app in Playstore still requires me to pick up my phone in order to actually hear something..
its got all the other features i'd like to use: answer calls from my PC, make calls from pc (from , for example, the outlook contactlist), call Log capability; but i have to pick up my phone when i probably can just hear it through my headphone (connected to PC)
I think i should be looking for some sort of voip server on my phone and let my computer act as voip client, but i'm not entirely sure about that.
Since I installed "Car Mode" (it should set all calls to speakerphone when enabled), I'm having troubles with my cellphone it's auto-answering all calls and setting to speakerphone (by "didn't work" I mean it keeps auto-answering calls and setting to speakerphone) I'm not sure car mode is the culprit (I installed some other similar programs, but I think it's likely it is) any ideas on how to revert that on the system.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated my Eris to 2.1 about a month ago, and it's been running fine up until about last week. Lately, the battery hasn't been lasting me more than 12 hours, and I've done everything I can to save battery life, plus the battery cover usually gets hot enough to cook some eggs on top of. The problems I've encountered lately is with making and receiving calls. When trying to call someone, it seems to take forever. I know my phone isn't the fastest Android, but it used to work fine. It takes a good 30 seconds just to type in a 10 digit number; the phone usually freezes a couple of times, its just generally laggy.
When I try to receive a call, the same basic thing happens. The phone freezes up while I am trying to slide the bar down on the lock screen, etc. Here's the main issue. After sifting through the freezing and lagging, and finally get to the call, I cannot hear anything, and they cannot hear me. The call is connected; I see the notification up top, and I have got the vibrate to tell me it's connected.
Has anyone been successful showing a notification, starting an activity, or loading the home screen *during* a call on the Droid? All three of these actions can be done with the emulator running 2.0, but will not run from the Droid. I don't receive any type of notification that these actions fail on the Droid. Although, every action works when a call is *not* active. Missed calls during a call *do* show up in the notification bar, so I am hoping there is a way.
I understand that the notification bar can not be accessed by users during calls, but it would be nice if a notification could at least be delivered. I also understand the security and usability concerns of displaying a window or action during phone calls. Although, there are a lot of users who would like actionable functionality based on calls.
My girlfriend has an HTC Eris and here lately she's been having an issue answering phone calls. This doesn't happen every time but does happen a lot - she'll get a call and will press answer on the phones screen and she then hears nothing. The person that's calling her doesn't hear her picking up, in fact with the tests we've done with my phone and a friends phone is that on the callers end it just keeps ringing as if she never picked up.
She picks up she hears nothing, the caller on the other hand just hears the phone keep ringing. Any idea's what's causing this? She's not running any custom ROMs, in fact it's a stock phone up til about 2 days ago when I did root the phone - however she had this problem prior to that as well.
I have had my Eris since Jan. I am on my 3rd replacement and 2nd in 3 weeks. My first one VZW just kept making excuses and wanting to do factory resets and delete apps because in their words that was the problem. The tech guy on the phone told me that they could only replace it with another eris again so here I sit with another POS that continues to lock up. I have been unable to make calls 80% of the time. What a joke On average I have to remove my battery 3-4 times a day to get it to work.

Dropped calls mainly, sometimes 4-6 times during one conversation.My main irritation right now is that if I'm in the text screen or any messaging screen for that matter and I get a call my phone screen goes black and I can't answer it. It won't even let me silence the ringer.I love all of the things that this phone does, the whole android deal is awesome but lately I am seriously missing my blackberry.Will rooting help ANY of these issues or is that a waste of time?I have already watched the tutorials and written down the steps, just such a noob I'm scared. View 3 Replies View RelatedEven after numerous factory resets, through both the Volume Down+Send+End and Settings>Privacy>Factory Reset methods, my Eris has been unable to send or receive texts, and will not allow me to send or receive calls. When I try to text, I get an SMS error with Cause Code: 34 and Error Class: 3. When I try to call, I get an automated error saying that my phone can't be authenticated at this time, and am advised to call #8899. Even after doing so, I get the same authentication error. Wi-Fi seems to work correctly, and my Google and Facebook accounts all sync pretty much perfectly. Is anyone else having any kind of problem like this? And, either way, does anyone know of any possible alternatives that may fix the problem besides a total replacement of the phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got the mobile 3 days back.I am unable to make or receive calls on X10 from yesterday. Have tried the following things : 1) Switching Off 2) Updating the software. But both these methods have not helped. Able to use WAP/GPRS but calls are not getting connected. Have tried to change the call waiting settings, phone says Network or Sim Card Error.Signal strength is also pretty decent (3-4 bars). I have tried my sim in other phones Nokia, Samsung, and it works perfectly fine.Have tried other sims on X10 and they too are showing the same error. Can't figure out what the problem is?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a couple of days the phone is unable to make or receive calls, or send or receive txt messages.If I try and make a call it attempts to start the call, but immediately comes back with unavailable. Incoming calls go straight to voicemail. Outgoing txt messages don't work. What is strange is that if I try and browse the web (over 3G) then that works fine! I have tried doing a network scan again, and reregistering to Tmobile, but that doesn't make a difference.
If I turn the phone off and on again, then it is fine and all calls/txts are working again. I have seen this 4 times now with my phone. It doesn't always happen, but it has happened a few times now which is worrying. The annoying thing is that you obviously don't know when incoming calls stop. You only find out the problem has occured when you attempt to make a call or send a TXT.
Take forever to 'activate'. Is there a fix for this?

My mom called me like 25 times asking me to look up something, when I FINALLY got the call on the house phone I was able to look it up in maps but unable to call her back at all (was using wifi). My EVDO data services work fine but theres not voice AT ALL. I tried calling my number from like 5 phones nothing, I also reset it turned off the cellular radio and turned it back on nothing. Now for some reason the only time I can receive calls and make calls is when I have it set to 1xRTT only....Idk wtf going on but the one time I needed to use the PHONE on my handset it decided to not work....I had like 3 people try and call me and nothing not very convent.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I installed Smoked Glass last v6. night and everything was fine. This morning everything was also fine, sent and received 20-30 texts and no issue. About 5 minutes ago I was trying to send a text and I kept getting a message not sent. So then I tried to make a phone call and I could not make a phone call ether. I can still access the internet though. I have 2-3 bars at all times.
Can this be related to me installing the ROM (nothing went wrong with instillation) I wiped all data, installed rom and then backed up with titanum. I have rebooted my phone a couple of times and nothing changed. I also just tried to make a call and it completely rebooted the phone.
