All, I've googled over and over again to find a solution and while I found a bug regarding camera release, etc I can not for the life of me seem to get the cam code to work. Every time I executed takePicture the system simply hangs, sometimes it calls the PictureCallback, but most of the time it simply hangs.Weird issues about not being able to read /data/ap_gain.bin files, etc

View 21 Replies View RelatedI found that the old bug reported in http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1578 where only a power cycle brings back the camera still persists with the official Cupcake firmware on my ADP. When it happens - and I've encountered it several times in a few days now - no camera application can access the camera. A power cycle is needed to recover from this locked camera state.

But now the phone dialpad does not load at all the first time I touch the dialpad icon (it brings up a small white panel layout). Pressing the dialpad again second time loads up the new cool dialpad introduced in 4.4.2 kitkat update.

Camera 360 lags really bad before taking the photo, and Camera Magic hangs while "saving snapshot" or whatever it says after you snap a picture.
Basic but frustrating issue with my Droid X - the time stamp for the pictures that I take are way off - the date is actually right, but the time is something like 7 hours too fast.My phone's date and time is set correctly, of course (it does so automatically) - for some reason though, the camera's date stamp is wrong and I can't figure out how to adjust it. Any idea how I can fix the date and time for the camera?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Motorola Droid will turn on, but it will not go to my home. It will just stay on the start up screen (black background with white logo in the center).
Now this didn't happen until i decided i wanted the CyanogenMod on my phone. I used this tutorial: Full Update Guide - Motorola Droid - CyanogenMod Wiki.
So I started with the first step and I installed SPRecovery succesfully using RSDLite, but when it rebooted it wouldn't get to the home screen. Then on RSDLite it said "REBOOT MANUALLY". I waited longer to make sure it wouldn't turn on eventually but it didn't. I finally disconnected it and tried various things... to try and get it back to normal. Did i brick it? also my phone was already rooted.
Would there ever be a camera that could use front and back cameras at the same time? Or app? Do it have to be a powerful phone maybe like note 2 ect? Do you think such feature can be run on a low end phone maybe like HTC evo 4g?
I know gs4 can do this but what about other non Samsung phones?

I was having apps hang on download from the appbrain market app. This was during an appbrain update. So I uninstalled appbrain. The downloads pending went through, but the appbrain update is now hanging in the downloads from the Android Marketplace. It just says "downloading." I can't kill the process. I have rebooted the phone, manually killed the process. I get this message: "Sorry! The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Then "Force Close." I want appbrain back, I love the service, but I don't know what to do.

Seeing as Motorola is locking down the Motorola Droid X and likely the Droid 2, what should I replace my Moto Droid with? I've been totally happy with the phone to the extent that I tell people it's the coolest thing I've ever owned in my entire life... that's 51 years for you youngsters. I'm of course on Verizon and will stay with Verizon. I've paid zero attention to any phones other than the Moto Droids. Alas, lockdown is not acceptable. So now I have to go through the whole learning process all over again.
View 10 Replies View Relatedwhen i plug in the usb charger or connect it to my car dock. When i plug it in, the phone reboots and goes to the droid logo/droid eye screen and hangs there. I have to pull the battery to turn it off and back on again. Once it reboots it doesn't seem to have a problem connecting, but after that and a f ew hours of usage it happens again when i plug it back in. If I click the messaging icon on my home screen it takes me to gmail. if i open my phone and contacts, i get the email address and phone number displayed only, no option to text the desired contact.the only thing i seem to grasp is the call log. from there i can text or call again. seems like i can only text from call log, but if i have no call to tor from them in my log, and i want to text them, i do not know how. is there a good tutorial for texting and contacts? sorry if it seems like a dumb question, i just got my droid a couple hours ago. i am stokes because it was a sweet deal and i am not due to upgrade from my lame omnia for awhile. but i need to know how to text and initiate calls instead of just emailing everyone. the phone is sick sweet though.

A couple key features that woud make this a great application:
1) Ability to store the password (though not visible)
2) Ability to automatically redial when disconnected.
I hate having to retype my password everytime the network (verizion not work) bumps me off and it is anoying to have the vpn disconnect and not realize it until I haven't gotten any new messages for a while.
I had been using Barnacle with my Motorola Droid (upgraded to Froyo), and it connected to my iPad and laptop without any issues.Just tried it the other day, and I get a message stating "Baranacle requires 'su' to access the hardware! Please, make sure you have root access".The phone is obviously rooted (easy root), since I had been using Barnacle before.Any reason why it's not working now? what exactly IS 'su'?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAlright so I was on froyo stock image frg01b rooted. I tried to install nextheme over it. I tried to go into recovery, but got the exclamation point. Went back into froyo, flash the alternative recovery, then flashed back to clockwork. It goes into recovery fine now.

Now try to go back into recovery to flash backup. It wont go into CW and now I see an exclamation point. Now I went into the stock recovery menu, wiped data did factory reset. Wiped cache.

What did I do?
I tried putting stock 2.1 on SD and renamed it update.zip and tried to flash with the stock recovery, but it says failed to access /sdcard .zip and then go back to the (stock) recovery menu. Clockword is gone and so is any and all ROMs.
Something about comunucating with my laptop via my droid wirelessly like controlling one device with the other? is this true? i figure my phone is linux as well as my laptop so remote desktop sharing might be possible.....
View 10 Replies View RelatedYesterday my Verizon Motorola droid was automatically updated from Android 2.1 to 2.2. I was informed that it had been done via text message. I was not consulted or warned, only informed after the fact. It does not cause any problem in my app. I used the getSDcardPath (syntax approx) rather than hard-coding /sdcard/data..... and I have not found any other conflicts.
How are Android updates handled on devices? Always done automatically, this instance of auto update was unusual, or what?
If it is always done automatically then we MUST incorporate all accommodations for future changes that are not backwards compatible just to keep our apps running on machines that they were designed to run on. (it is difficult to anticipate all future changes!)

Can anyone call the last number they dialed in less than 5 moves on Motorola Droid without having that contact set as a direct dial shortcut on their Home screen?This is after screen has timed out and phone shotcut is not already open. I currently have to>press power>swipe or use pattern>press phone>press call log> press phone icon next to name. If the answer is no, people really need to think twice when they say how the phone is so easy to use. If it can be done quicker, please show how.

I'll try to be as detailed as possible. Things to note right off the bat: - Motorola Droid 2.1 - Windows Server 2003 laptop - ADB has worked perfectly with this for ~ 8 months My work gave me a HTC Evo to do some development on. I installed the HTC drivers, ADB worked fine, did my development and now I am done with the Evo. The problem is my Droid no longer works with ADB.
