Jun 11, 2010I had my HTC EVO 4g for a week now and loving it. I always make sure I have a sufficient enough of space on my my phone's memory.. It frustrates me knowing that the application with the most database size is the contacts storage! (13.54mb ) What really bothers me, it gradually increases by the day.. When I first got the phone it was 9mb.. and as the we days go by it would increase. I don't even add any new contacts. What's the root of the problem?! Should i disable syncing facebook / gmail?

It states that enabling this will "require more battery plus view of sky"
When checked, it states "deselect to conserve battery"
So, the question is, should this be enabled?
I imagine for some applications, knowing your precise location should be useful, especially if the turn-by-turn maps are installed and used.
I'm thinking to deselect this, and selecting it at times when I need it.
So, to check or not to check?

Aug 5, 2010One of my application need to know a new day is coming, that is, if the clock of phone changed from 23:59 to 00:00, my application will do some logic. I tried to use android.intent.action.DATE_CHANGED, but based on my test, this event only occured when i change the date mannually, I could not get this action when clock changed from 23:59 to 00:00. Aug 30, 2010I have a question about the calendar app. Sorry if this has been raised before.In calendar view you can see the day and the date however if you switch to agenda it shows the date but no longer the day of the week. Is there a switch I can toggle to turn this on or an alternative calendar.Seeing the day of the week is very useful next to the date. Odd that its not included.

May 22, 2010we have an estimated time frame on when HTC should be done with Froyo to have it released to the carriers.Android 2.2 Froyo Update: HTC Release Date Plans in 2010 : Product Reviews Net This thread is a little different though.There are several broad time frames out there in various articles. The consensus on what HTC said seems to be that they will be done in the second half of 2010 no earlier than July 1st.Here is my guess and let's all hope I am way off base.If HTC decides to use the same exact version of Sense they could be done by July 1st.I doubt they will do that because HTC loves being innovative with their software. With an update as big as Froyo should be I think there will be some big changes/additions to Sense UI. So with that said let's say HTC finishes in August.
Now it is Sprint's turn. I think they will drag their feet just like any other device update.First I believe they are going to really want to get rid of the biggest Froyo addition that they will likely see as a disadvantage, Free WIFI Tethering. On top of that I don't believe there will be many people complaining about an OS update. I think we make up a small percentage of the people that will actually buy the EVO. And half of us will just flash custom roms, so I doubt they will feel they need to rush to get an update out for us to use.
