anyone know how to add ringtones or play mp3s as my sound on my alarm clock i only see about 8 tones i can use and i really dont like any of htem

How do I adjust the volume on the alarm clock? For some reason, it only vibrates and I get no sound...luckily I'm a light sleeper.

View 7 Replies View RelatedBeen trying hard since sunday to figure out how to add custom alarms to the alarm clock. I just miss alot of my alarms and want to be able to continue to use them on the Hero. so far everything I have tried does not work. I even created a "Media" folder with 3 sub folders "Alarms", "notifications", "Ringtones" even by placing them in these folders still nothing. I have been able to use the media player to add my music as a ringtone, however the music I have placed in the ringtone folder does not show up either in my phone.

Ive mounted the phone and looked in the download folder of sd card but nothing is there, and its certainly not in any of my albums. Is this yet another bug int he Hero's mms handling? a side question is there a way to adjust the snooze time on the built in alarm clock?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI read that the flip clock is a battery drainer, so I figured I'd switch it out. I like the HTC weather, but I sorta want a digital clock.
HTC's alarm settings etc. are great, I'd like to keep those setting as the clocks that are on the market I'm guessing won't have as many features if they're free.
But can I swap my HTC clock widget yet still have HTC run my alarm? I'm not really sure if I can do this or not, but I didn't want to download/install a clock over the stock one and need to get it back, so I was wondering if anyone had done this before.
I like to power the phone down completely at night. Problem is the alarm will not work unless in standby mode, and I use my phone as my alarm.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've used the default alarm clock that comes stock with the phone. Since I only need the alarm clock for weekday reminders, I'd prefer that the pone just vibrates or allows me to choose a more soothing "alarm" tone.
The only tones available for this alarm clock are extremely annoying and loud "alarms" that are not suitable in the classroom. (No, I am not a college student, but rather a principal at a private school.)
There are many ways to make the stock alarm clock work, but I can't find any of these settings.
I'd like to change the stock alarm clock program to simply vibrate with no alarm noise.
I'd like the choice to add a more quieter alarm sound, or lower the sound of the alarm ringer.
I'd like to change the functions of the buttons on the side of the phone--default settings are to snooze the alarm I guess? By the time I get the phone out of my pocket, one of the side keys are pressed, dooming to another annoying sound in exactly 10 minutes.
I went to sleep listening to a 6 hour playlist of thunderstorm sounds in spotify through stereo speakers. My alarm was set to go off 2 hours after the playlist ended. My alarm vibrated, and luckily woke me up, but it played no sound through my stereo speakers or through the phone's built in speaker. Is there any solution to this issue? Ideally, I'd like to listen to the sound of thunderstorms for 6 hours, and then have my alarm play the song that normally wakes me up through my stereo speakers.
I have a Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX although I doubt that's relevant. I'm sure its something to do with the software.
So I missed work the other day. I go to sleep listening to music on my droid with headphones in the headphone jack. I woke up around 10am (2 hours late for work) and looked over at my phone. The alarm had gone off, but only in my headphones which had fallen off during the night. The only time I listen to music is when I am going to bed, but I no longer can because of this problem. Does anyone know how to make alarm clocks ALWAYS play over the speakers? Or do I just need to buy a new alarm clock?
View 7 Replies View Relatedlast night I got tired of waiting for the 2.2 update so I installed unrevoked forever, 2.15 radio and the third wave rom from adrenyline. After all that went smoothly I decided to throw the standard clock undervolt hydra kernel in there too. After I did that I got sporadic reboots and the screen became very unresponsive. Also it seems to cause the phone to freeze whenever it has to wake up to play a notification sound or alarm...
Now I have to say that I had the same problem about a month ago when I tried one of the older Hydra Kernels, but I figured it would be fixed with the newer ones. My question is it seems that I am the only one with problems, all the posts I read about these things are positive with little or no issues. Am I installing it incorrectly somehow? Is anyone else having issues too?
Sometimes the clock will go weird, and the time won't change unless I touch the phone. This morning I woke up at half 8, I went to look at the time on my phone and it said 04:36, then after a couple of seconds updated to the actual time of half 8. As a result of this, my alarm set to half 6 didn't go off. I don't have any task killer apps, my phone was not turned off, or on silent.

I can't really understand why the alarm does not work. It is like the phone gets into a sleeping mode and alarm clock stops working. Another sign is Astro player stops between songs and does not resume until I wake up the phone.
View 45 Replies View RelatedI am a new owner of the HTC Hero and I tried to customize the ring tones and alarm sounds by using the directions provided by leaky on the tread "HTC Hero: Tips, Tricks & Useful Apps" but unfortunately this did not work out for my Hero. My SD card appeared as DCIM and I had to rename it to SD card and then on the MEDIA folder I added an AUDIO folder in which I added three separate files. One named ring tones, one named alarms and on named notifications as directions provided by thread. Then I added the appropriate .mp3 files to each folder while having the Hero plugged in with my PC.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an alarm clock app with one very specific feature - allow me to set the alarm tone to automatically stop after X seconds, then start again at the next snooze interval, and play for another X seconds.
Sure it seems every alarm app out there allows me to set Snooze intervals and stuff, but with my waking up habit, I don't like to physically have to touch the phone to get it to shut up until the next snooze interval. I like to lay in bed and let the alarm go for like 3-4 snooze intervals before I finally wake up.
I've tried Alarm Clock PlusV2, Alarm Clock Xtreme, Quick Alarm. None of them seem to have this.
I have been using the alarm on the Hero as a wake up but it will only vibrate and not play sounds which it would always do without problems before. The weird part is that selecting a tone to play for the alarm has also stopped being audible, so in some ways this leads to an obvious conclusion?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.
