View 5 Replies View RelatedIn the root of your SD card create the following folders
Notifications
Ringtones
Alarms
In these folders put your favourite MP3 files. You can now use these MP3 files as per the topic.
Notifications - Message tones and Notification tones
Ringtones - Your phone ringtones
Alarms - Your alarm mp3s
Using these folders there is no need to play the MP3 files first in Music Player.
How I remove ringtones that are in my list of choices that I choose from my music player originally.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOK, so I've scoured this site for any possible answers, but to no avail. When I transfered my mp3s to my Hero, most of the artist's names are listed (and their songs when you tap their name), but there is a good portion that are automatically categorized under the "various" and "unknown" categories. However, 95% of all my mp3s were acquired the same way via Lala.I've taken the sd card out and put it in my reader, and then dragged /dropped onto the card and then put the card back in. I've mounted the phone (that sounds so bad!), opened up the directory, dragged and copied my music folder to the card. Each time I've done this, I deleted all the music to start over. This is trivial I know, but for someone that is OCD like myself, it is driving me crazy having to go to either of these directories to look up a particular artist.Any ideas? Do I need a new MP3 player? Should I do something with the MP3s before I transfer?

View 4 Replies View RelatedHave the phone. Went through all the fun of finding my own prefered ring tone - well I made it from a song, and another ring tone for other uses.
Set them up, set the "Message" tone, set the alarm tone and all was good.
It wasn't long after that I bought a SANDISC8 gig SD card.
Coppied ALL files over and swapped the cards.
I am not sure exactly WHEN the problem started, but it still exists.
Now and then the phone is in my pocket and it starts making a sound. It isn't one I selected, so ignore it until it becomes obvious it is mine as no-one else is talking on their phone.
I look and it is a message/phone call/alarm.
They are NOT the ones I set. So I go through the process of seting them back to what I like.
Someone says it could be a dicky SD card. I shall test that soon by putting back the original one and seeing what happens. The only problem with that is that it is SO INTERMITANT that it is hard to know if it is or not really the problem.
Just got my Hero and wondering are there any apps to allow you to specify different sms tones for individual contacts? Would be nice if I could switch off alerts from certain contacts, and give custom tones to individual contacts?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've searched everywhere, and the threads that I find, on multiple sites, people ask this question and are given the obvious answer but yet doesnt answer the question. I know how to make a tone for all text messages. I want to be able to give each person their own text tone like I was able to on my Palm Centro. Is there an app for this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried several alarm clocks on my droid, and they all seem to have a problem. if I set alarms for 6:30, 6:41, and 6:52 am. Each with a different sound. If i snooze alarm 1, alarm 2/3 never goes off. i thought all 3 would be seperate, but it seems only 1 can be active at a time. unless im doing something wrong. this happens on the default alarm clock and, better alarm clock.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone unpredictably generates DTMF tones , which is a PITA when calling automated menu systems, as it will get you into menu items which were called by the DTMF tones. This happens for up to about 30 secs into a call.
View 6 Replies View RelatedBefore upgrading to 2.1 I was able to use MP3 songs as ring tones, so for the people I associate a song with, I recognize who is calling before looking... Am I missing something, or is this capability gone with 2.1? Was there a market place app I was running that I forgot to reload, or is this feature just gone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just DITCHED my iphone 4 (at&t service sucks where I live!) and bought a htc hero.I want to assign CUSTOM notification tones of different programs I use with push notifications, however many programs will not let you assign CUSTOM tones and force me to use use the system assigned tone for notification (a single custom one)Is there a workaround for this?
View 1 Replies View Relateddownloaded some ring tones and i cant find them. Where do they go? im tring to find them so i can send 1 to my friend. also how do i view the folders on the sd card from the phone so i can manage them and send them to people?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set some mp3s as a 1)Ringtone and 2)Notification. Here's how far I've gotten:
1. I mounted my Hero to my computer.
2. I have the media folder with the files of RINGTONES, NOTIFICATIONS.
3. I have the mp3s that I want, in EACH folder.
4. Unmounted the Hero.
Now I'm lost, because I went to my settings to set a default ringtone for my phone calls, and they are not showing up. The only ones showing up are the ones that came with the phone. The same thing is happening for my notifications.I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to this kind of stuff, so if there is anyone out there with the patience to help me out step-by-step,
Can anyone tell me how to get downloaded tones or music to the correct files?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI read that the flip clock is a battery drainer, so I figured I'd switch it out. I like the HTC weather, but I sorta want a digital clock.
HTC's alarm settings etc. are great, I'd like to keep those setting as the clocks that are on the market I'm guessing won't have as many features if they're free.
But can I swap my HTC clock widget yet still have HTC run my alarm? I'm not really sure if I can do this or not, but I didn't want to download/install a clock over the stock one and need to get it back, so I was wondering if anyone had done this before.
I like to power the phone down completely at night. Problem is the alarm will not work unless in standby mode, and I use my phone as my alarm.

This morning, although my alarm was set was 7:30 am, it didn't go off. Not at all! No sign of it. Luckily i made it into work on time. But this is really annoying. As far as i remember i didn't have anything else open (i heard that having messages or emails open may interfere with the alarm)
Sometimes the clock will go weird, and the time won't change unless I touch the phone. This morning I woke up at half 8, I went to look at the time on my phone and it said 04:36, then after a couple of seconds updated to the actual time of half 8. As a result of this, my alarm set to half 6 didn't go off. I don't have any task killer apps, my phone was not turned off, or on silent.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIt happened to me last week, I set the alarm early for work but it failed to go off. Luckily for me I was already awake and thought I had set it wrong. I forgot all about it... Until this morning when it did the same again. I did a test on the alarm and set it go to off after a couple if minutes to test if it was working and it this time it went off properly?
View 34 Replies View RelatedI've set an alarm in Clock. When the alarm goes off (with the phone on standby) the screen lights up and tells me to 'drag down to dismiss'. When I do this the Home screen appears with no mention of the alarm, but the alarm goes off again after 10 minutes.
