Sprint HTC Hero :: Completely Silence Phone

Mar 2, 2010

How can I completely silence everything in the phone? I long press the red end button and from the pop up, I choose silent. That works for phone calls / email notifications / text notifications. However, after I did that, I went to Slacker and it started playing (even though I had the silent icon in the notification area). I had to then press the down volume key to turn off the media volume. Is there a way to make everything silent without downloading a 3rd party app?

Sprint HTC Hero :: How To Completely Remove / Delete HTC Sense?

I have a rooted Hero, running Fresh 2.3.3 ROM with DarchKernel786. I use LauncherPro and want to delete HTC sense from taking up so much internal memory! Is this possible? Also, i want to remove some stock apps like Peep from my phone as well, but they do not show up under app uninstaller. I've read that root explorer app can accomplish this, but the app was really confusing and I didn't understand. Can someone help me out?

I already had one to replace the one that it comes with at home so I didn't have Sprint open it to replace it. I forgot to ask as well.I've searched online and the "chin" hero seems to have a little dent where you can prop it open. The Sprint Hero looks pretty solid... but I know you have to open it to replace the SD card so my question is how do I do it without ruining the molding?

Android :: Completely Wipe Out The Application Data?

Feb 4, 2009

I'm developing an application which downloads a file from FTP server. The code first checks if file is present on local system . If it is not present on local system then it downloads it from FTP server. Application must download file from FTP server when it executes first time after getting installed.

If we reinstall the application , android preserves the data of old application .So now application finds the file on local system and does not download it from FTP server. But it should always download the file on first execution after fresh install. Is there any way to completely wipe out the previous application data on fresh install? Is there any registry or some location where an application can store data and it gets automatically wiped out when application is uninstalled?

I have an unlimited data plan so I don't care now that there is a lot of apps using my connection, but going overseas soon, the roaming charges are really expensive. I found some settings (like sync) that I can configure not to use data connection but I am not sure if these are all.

Jelly Bean :: Dual Sim - Disable Completely Data For Second Sim?

May 26, 2014

I have a Be.SOCIAL SC020 with Android 4.1.2, which has two SIM slots.

I want to make sure that SIM2 never, ever connects to the Internet, though I do want to use it for calls and SMSs.

Under Settings, I can't find any setting for enabling/disabling data completely per-sim. (There is an option for enabling/disabling data *roaming* per sim). There _is_ a setting under Data Usage for putting a limit for data consumption: there you can set a warning threshold and a limit. However, while the warning can be set to 0MB, the lowest value you can set for the limit is 1MB (I know, so stupid...).

Up to now, I haven't detected any data usage on sim2, but my fear is that at any moment when the data network for sim1 may become temporarily unavailable for any reason, sim2 may be used for data. Even if I have set the 1MB limit, sim2's operator will charge me a fixed amount per week if I use non-zero data.

So how do I disable data completely for sim2 while keeping data enabled for sim1 and keeping sim2 enabled for voice and sms?

Downloaded CM6 R1 for Hero onto SD Card (had Fresh ROM) and then flashed CM 6 and Google apps as per instructions.

Everything seems top work well except that the phone/SD Card is not recognized when connected to computer with USB.

I found this out when I went to try tethering and PDA Net. Neither worked and then I realized the phone is not being recognized by the computer.

My computer at work tried to load some ADB drivers but errored out.

When I connect the phone to either of my 3 computers I either get no popup or a popup saying do you want to load ADB drivers (which errors out).
