Protected apps still not showing up. Same as the leaked version. WTF! I have heard on the the leaked version that it worked after a while, I hope this is the case with this one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to download the "Desktop Visualizer" (a free app) but it wasn't showing up in the market, and no matter how I tried (QR codes, direct links, appbrain), I couldn't get it to download. Turns out it's copy protected, which seems to be the problem. I'm running 2.1 on my milestone (rooted) but I've googled a bit, and other rooted people don't seem to have this problem. Does anyone know what's causing it, and, if known, how to fix it?
View 19 Replies View RelatedCan somebody please confirm that the Spring Hero used to have access to copy protected apps, however, after the upgrade to Android 2.1, they now don't?If this does get confirmed, is there any alternative to just removing the copy protection?Eg: If a user purchased a copy protected app, then they upgraded to Android 2.1 (which wipes the phone), they can't reinstall the copy protected app they purchased?

View 9 Replies View RelatedPeople are having problems finding my app (Advanced Map Live Wallpaper) in the Android Market.It's free, not copy-protected, and the only requirement is SDK level 7 or above. However, it's invisible on some Nexus 2.1 devices, a lot of Droids (2.1), and a smattering of other phones.The fact it disappears seems to be completely random, and it's driving me nuts because I don't know if it's a misconfiguration by me somewhere or a Market problem.I know there's been an issue for copy protected apps, but I can't see how this applies to me.
* Copy protection is off * It's set to list in all locations
* It's free * It's not localised ("Localized to: unknown")
Is there any way to remove pre-installed programs?
For example, the following programs were pre-installed:
Amazon MP3
Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?
Sprint TV
Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
I need some trendy apps/games to show off my Hero. I had my work xmas lunch yesterday and at the end someone whipped out their iphone and everyone started crowding round . I'm not necessary looking for anything sophisticated or lasting, I just want people to go 'hey that's pretty cool' when I show them my Hero. All I've got at the moment is google skymap and tricorder, both of which are a bit too nerdy if you know what I mean.

View 11 Replies View RelatedStrange curious thing, but, in All Contacts, even in Google, the contacts I have in Groups like Family aren't showing. I have to actually go into that contact set to get them to show. I would have thought that All Contacts, would have actually been all not some.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWorking on a Sprint HTC Hero that was recently upgraded to 2.1.
But the contacts when added as a google contact only show up under "all contacts" in google and not on the phone itself.
At first, I worked around this by logging into google to manually switch the contacts to "my contacts" and it then showed up on the phone.
Now, I figured out that when adding the contact on the phone, I have to choose "null" as a group label for the contact to show up on the phone.
I have had a strange issue for the past couple days. Sometimes when I type on the keyboard, no text is entered into the text box, but I see the letters "pop up". I have tried to change orientation, and exit the app and no luck. The only thing that really works is to reset the phone. i have even tried to use Better Keyboard and it does it too.

Someone mentioned that protected apps will not appear until the eris is registered with the 2.1 android market. Just a heads up if you decide to upgrade early.

Seems like a bad idea to turn it off, but I don't want to miss potential customers either. What do you all do in this situation?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from a Hero to the Desire yesterday. It's all great apart from a few niggles, but one big one in particular. I've lost half of my paid for apps I signed it to my Google account upon setting up the phone as normal. Everything seemed to work: Contacts and Calendar synchronized just fine, not so the Apps. The market seemed to recognize half of my paid apps, allowing me to download them for free again, but not the other half. I even did an App resore from my Hero using 'My backup' all to no avail. I'm still missing paid apps. They aren't even showing up in the Market any more, and if I download the free version and then try to upgrade it says there's no such App. Current paid for Apps that I'm missing and can't get back are:

I've also wiped the phone before restoring a backup.But after I've used Titanium to re-install apps, the manage applications shows apps that have been uninstalled. When I select them in manage applications, I get a FC.I've investigated a bit, and it seems manage applications thinks the apps are still installed for some reason. If I find the app in Market, then Install and uninstall it, it no longer shows in Manage Applications.Is there a way to force a refresh of Manage Applications? I don't want to have to install/uninstall all the rogue aps.The main reaons for wanting to sort this, is so that when I backup/restore from Titianium, I don't have this issue and I can create a Nandroid backup that is correctly up to date.

I set up ADB and my serial number comes up after i write cdcd AndroidSDKToolsadb devices (with a space after each slash.) but next to the serial it says offline. Why is this? i tied doing the rooting process and when i write adb push asroot2 /data/local/ a bunch of stuff comes up in cmd and then next when i write adb shell chmod 0755 /data/local/asroot2. It says device offline, why is this and how do i fix it?

I used it before and it worked fine, i recently wiped my phone and now they arent working.

It appears that copy protected apps are now available for us Eris users who have the leaked versions. Just thought I'd let you know. So, if you went to a leaked version and miss those apps that suddenly disappeared from the Market, go check to see if they are there.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBe aware folks Rooting your Evo makes copy-protected apps "disappear" from the Market. I never had this problem on my rooted N1, however once I rooted Evo - it cannot see apps like NYTimes, bTunes, and basically any other app that's copy protected. I have read on XDA-forums that this has something to do with Market being affiliated with 'build.prop', but unclear as to what the fix for this will be, if any Right now, I am thinking of going back to stock because of this..
