When you know damn good and well you're in a Rev A area?
Supposedly this was just a "glitch" with some of the Heros, but surely it was fixed in the latest update?

I have rooted my phone just to delete some of the sprint crap apps. Now my question is since I did not flash a custom ROM on to my device will I be able to update the phone when Sprint releases the OTA Update or will I have to use the RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_1.56.651.2_signed_release.exe to put my phone back to factory stock. (Also can I just do a hard reset to accomplish the same thing).

Can anyone give me a link to the area where the latest download for the latest firmware is please?I've seen various sites,but I'm not certain which is the latest.

check it out. I am running 2.1 without rooting and took about 5 minutes.
I have to tell you, I am getting hella better battery life out of the leaked update versus 1.5 on the Hero. I am sitting at 1.5 days since last charged, and am at 50% battery. On the old firmware, I am possibly close to dead at this point. I wonder if the native support in 2.1 for the Sprint network is making that large a difference, or if wiping the phone somehow purged an energy guzzler from my machine. Whatever it is, I wondered if anyone else who updated is noticing a similar gain in battery longevity.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been running Damages Rom for a while. I like the Rom and have been upgrading as the releases have come out. I worked a lot of hours and skipped a coiple before the last one. I flashed the update with a wipe, took 30min. first boot like it was supposed to. Takes 15 every time since. I've not found any mention of this in the forums. Is it just my phone or are there others?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a Galaxy S4. I've got Twitter set to notify me when certain people tweet in addition to the standard mention and direct message notifications. It seems like recently it's only showing the latest notification in the notifications drawer (pull-down). If I get a mention, for example, and don't dismiss it and then get a direct message a few moments later the mention in my notifications pull-down is replaced with the direct message.

View 9 Replies View RelatedStrange curious thing, but, in All Contacts, even in Google, the contacts I have in Groups like Family aren't showing. I have to actually go into that contact set to get them to show. I would have thought that All Contacts, would have actually been all not some.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWorking on a Sprint HTC Hero that was recently upgraded to 2.1.
But the contacts when added as a google contact only show up under "all contacts" in google and not on the phone itself.
At first, I worked around this by logging into google to manually switch the contacts to "my contacts" and it then showed up on the phone.
Now, I figured out that when adding the contact on the phone, I have to choose "null" as a group label for the contact to show up on the phone.
I have had a strange issue for the past couple days. Sometimes when I type on the keyboard, no text is entered into the text box, but I see the letters "pop up". I have tried to change orientation, and exit the app and no luck. The only thing that really works is to reset the phone. i have even tried to use Better Keyboard and it does it too.

Anyone know how I can fix that?

I set up ADB and my serial number comes up after i write cdcd AndroidSDKToolsadb devices (with a space after each slash.) but next to the serial it says offline. Why is this? i tied doing the rooting process and when i write adb push asroot2 /data/local/ a bunch of stuff comes up in cmd and then next when i write adb shell chmod 0755 /data/local/asroot2. It says device offline, why is this and how do i fix it?

I used it before and it worked fine, i recently wiped my phone and now they arent working.

He researched for 10mins, sent some kind of profile update to my phone and now when 4g is on my phone doesnt lag.I dont know what he did but it worked! Before i called him i tried all the updates through the update menu, but nothing worked. He definitely did something that isnt available through the update menu

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy clock widgets have all shown the correct time and place since I received my Hero. On Saturday, all of a sudden the clock is off by 5 hours but showing the correct location. I restarted my phone and the correct time would show up, but as soon as the phone sleeps and I wake it up, the clock is off by 5 hours again!!! I checked the settings for the clock and it is set to the network time and gps for current location. I had to download a clock widget off the market because I could not figure it out. Anyone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been a Sprint customer for a very long time. My wife and I both have smartphones and we have the Unlimited 1500 plan. To my knowledge, this includes everything (excluding International calls.....which I know for a fact thanks to an $1800 fraud that was on my bill 2 months ago). I digress, data roaming is included as a part of this plan as far as I know.
I checked my bill online yesterday, and there was an alert that I have used 3800+KB of data roaming.
Now....let me start by saying, yes, I do have the setting checked to allow for data roaming (as to my knowledge, it's included in my plan). I do have the Hero (my second one) and for the life of me, I can't figure out why it goes into roaming mode more than any other Sprint phone I've ever owned. My wife's phone could be sitting next to mine, and I'll be roaming while she is not. That being said, I can guarantee there have been instances where I've roamed and pulled down data (checking email, automatically checking weather/facebook/twitter/etc, internet) and I've never seen this alert on my account.
I called Sprint last night to question it, and they put a $20 service credit on my account. That's all fine and great, as I'm not going to turn down free money, but I had explained that my concern was that the alert is showing up to begin with. I even explained that while I appreciate the credit, I'd rather just have this situation resolved so that I don't have to call back next month if these charges appear.
My question is this, has anyone ever seen this before? I am rooted, I am running Fresh 2.1.1 and I have the latest SPRINT radio flashed from Flipz' website. I have had this setup for a little over 2 months now, so this isn't the first billing cycle that this setup has seen. I can't figure this out for the life of me.
If this continues to be a problem, it's either going to require a new device or a new carrier. I live in a very populated western suburb in Chicagoland and have NEVER had a problem with roaming or poor signal until I got the Hero in October.
I just bought a Hero yesterday and had the Sprint store transfer my contacts from my AT&T sim card. Everything seemed to work fine except when he looked in the "people" icon, nothing was there. So after a few more tries I left. When I got home, I noticed that all my sim card contacts, including my Facebook contacts, were visible when I hit the "phone" icon. My question is, how do I get my contacts in the "people" icon? I want them on the first tab "all". I was able to get one of my contacts in the "favorites" tab but it takes too long to get there. I want to hit "people" and see all my contacts right away.

Anyone's else do this? Phone defense runs smoother but still experience the weather not showing /updating under clock.
I use my Droid to play music in my car. Prior to update, turning media all the way up on Droid would make a crackling sound in the speakers.(This is with Droid hooked up or Droid by itself) Since the update, I'm able to turn it all the way up with no crackling. It sounds fantastic.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince I installed (might just be a coincidence but I did update Maps via the market) 2.1, Google Maps takes so long to update when showing directions. For example I'll be in one street and have walked to another and it will still show me in the previous street after 30 seconds or so later. Also I noticed today when using it, that the arrow wouldn't move and just stays in one spot but the arrow does change direction though.
I could have sworn it wasn't like this before and I could just use it like a real gps unless I've overlooked something.
Also I get the "Current location temporarily unavailable" message all the time when searching my location unless I tick the Use Wireless Networks in the Location settings of the Hero. When I had 1.5, I didn't need to do this and just used GPS satellites.
What am I doing wrong here?
