When i try and root my Hero my computer is unable to install the ADB driver needed to perform these tasks. I've followed the instructions from this website with no luck. Any ideas?? I'm running w7, dont know if that has anything to do with it.

I have Windows 7, and when installing HTC Sync it fails to install a driver for my Magic. Has anyone here with Windows Vista successfully installed HTC Driver? It should be placed in C:Program FilesHTCHTC Driver. Can anyone tell me what that folder contains?

View 13 Replies View RelatedIn case anyone else is having problems getting their Incredible to connect, the easiest way I found to install the USB drivers are with the HTC sync program here:

The google SDK driver doesn't yet work with the Incredible, and though it can be hacked - this download might be easier for some.
I go to plug my phone into my computer and mount it and then I get a message on my computer asking do I want to scan the driver, When I click yes it does nothing, and then When I go to my computer to click my Hero Vista wont let me it says please insert a disk. If I click Continue without scanning I am able to get into the Hero. Whats going on here?

If I hard-reset my phone, the compass will work flawlessly for about 3-5 days. After that it fails to function. It stays locked in one position and if it does move it is VERY sparatic.
This has been tested with multiple compass apps as well as any of the "augmented" reality apps (sky maps, Layer, etc)
This has happened with both COMPLETELY factory un-rooted phone as well as now that I'm rooted running Madoco Unofficial 1.2c.
If I do a hard reset it works fine. Its not any particular app doing it either. I've tested that theory.
I installed an app through HTC Sync Application Install.
How do I go about removing it? It's not in "my downloads" in the market. I guess because I didn't download it through the market. any ideas?
i have the htc hero sprint phone,but right now there is no service on it, i dont know if that is whats causing this problem, but i downloaded htcsync 2.0 off the htc website and it installed completely only problem i get is i download the file i want,which is a game from a website called brothersoft.com, and when i click the application installer on the htcsync program, it says the app was successfully transfered to the phone, but on my phone it says "there is a problem parsing the package", can someone help me on this? do i have to have service or do i have to download another program, also do i have to have an sd card, or can it all happen from just a usb cable

In the Android Eclipse plugin, I have downloaded and installed the USB driver (revision 3) package. But when I connect my Nexus One to my PC (running Windows 7) using the USB cable, a message box pops up and shows that "No driver found" for "Nexus One". I have activated USB Debugging on my device. And when I run adb devices on my PC, it just prints List of devices attached and no devices are listed. And if I use Device Manages in Windows, and tries to update the driver for "Nexus One", I can not select a driver in the "driver directory" of Android SDK. How can I install a driver for Nexus One on Windows 7 so I can use it for USB debugging my Android applications on a real device?

I Have a Nexus 7 and recently I found that I needed to use ADB for something and I had used my Nexus 7 with ADB on this computer before (thats how I installed KitKat) but whenever I connect my Nexus now it says that is not configured correctly and when I attempted to install the ADB driver it said windows encountered an error. I am currently running windows with Driver verification disabled and on test mode. I am also running windows in test mode so that it wouldn't block the driver. I have tried every driver possible from the one in the SDK to the intel android adb driver and even PDAnet. I have checked inside the driver file that it is properly registered for my nexus 7. I am running Windows 8.1 on my computer and android 4.4.2 kitkat on my Nexus 7.

Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

Rooted my Hero, installed the fresh 2.0d ROM, I have a theme that I just downloaded. How do I flash it my hero? would this process be similar to flashing ROM w/o actually having to wipe? (saving to SD card, power off Hero, boot in recovery, choose theme, allow installation, reboot?)
