I completed a root last night (after a ton of help from the board - thanks again!) my only thing is i am missing navigation. any idea how to restore this? i attempted to follow flips tutorial for adding missing apps, but had no success. any ideas? is there an easy way to do this? via command prompt?

This is very strange but whether i do a simple wipe or rollback to stock rom my downloaded apps don't seem to have been erased? The ROM i was intending to load loaded fine and everything seems to work I'm just baffled how my downloaded apps could survive a wipe and RUU reflash. i don't use apposed btw...

Now that app won't show up in the market for me.I know I read something about apps not showing up if the ROM is not "signed" by Google, or something. But the zip from Fresh 2.1.2 ends with "_signed_release". So what do you do to get missing apps to show up?

Anyone here running stock Hero 1.5 able to download Weatherbug Elite, Camera Zoom FX or tapatalk? I was told by our network that when we get 2.1 they will appear, but if I remember right there were folks here running stock Hero 1.5 on Sprint who had them.

I made my android backup, and backed up all my apps+system files with Titanium Backup and then flashed to Fresh 2.1.1. My question now is, how do I restore all my apps that I backed up. Do I just re-install the app from the market? And then use that to restore my old apps? Any help would be appreciated. Also... how do I enable apposed in 2.1.1 in the notes, flips stated it's turned off by default. I'd like to turn that on. I like me lots of apps, and would rather have them on my SD card.

I then went and did a search to locate them in the marketplace and got no return, as if the application doesn't exist any more.
View 49 Replies View RelatedToday i have been having some fun today downloading and yes buying (!) apps from the mkt. well, i started getting a little instability - i couldn't get an IP from my wireless router --- i had d/l "wifi keep alive" and "wifi reconnect" and "wifi reassociation". so i went to the mkt intending to uninstall one by one until i restored my ability to DHCP to the router. selecting the "downloads" section of the mkt revealed only about two pages worth of apps. believe me - i have a LOT more apps than that! mostly all the apps that appear are purchased apps (one exception - gmail is there too) - but even then, not "all" of my purchased apps are there! in doing my due dilligence checking to see if anyone else had this problem and solved it, i found this thread and this thread - neither of which have anything to say to help me. ANY idea how to get my apps to show up in the mkt? the apps themselves ARE STILL ON MY hero, they just don't appear in the mkt)

I have looked at everything I can think of on the Add Widget screen and nothing seems to be the right one.
Is there any way to remove pre-installed programs?
For example, the following programs were pre-installed:
Amazon MP3
Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?

Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
Previously had these apps on my hero, reset my phone (to fix the market 'starting download' problem) and now i cant replace a few apps from the market.

I enabled both in the settings (they are checked), but when I click the options button on the keyboard and try to select a keyboard, I only get the 3 standard options (QWERTY, Phone, Compact QWERTY). View 4 Replies View RelatedLast night rooted my phone & installed vallian 5.3. took me awhile to get it right but its working fine. however i installed my back to back up all my apps/data but iam having trouble restoring it back into my phone. I install my back up & when i hit restore, it says cannot get back up info etc...really weird as ive placed all the files back onto my sd card & i see them. this is annoying cause i even backed up export2contacts to restore my phone numbers but i need my apps restored for anything to work. really dont wanna download all of them again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo i restored my phone to a previous nandroid backup and when i went to boot my phone, its now stuck at the boot screen.... So I rebooted it back into recovery, and tried restoring a backup i know works, but same thing again. How does this happen?!? I did change the folder names that the backups were in so I didn't get confused, for example one I named one Fresh 1.1 w/ gumbo, etc. Could this corrupt the backup and if so is there anyway for me to restore the previous folder name to fix this..?

This was one of my favorite apps and now its like it never existed? Does anybody else not see calorie counter when they search for it? I don't understand how it could just not show up anymore in the market. If anyone has it, could they possibly back up the app to there SD card and send me the .apk file so I can install it? The envelope that usually appears in the notification bar doesn't show anymore, but when I look at my mail shortcut on the homescreen, it shows the green circle with the number of new emails. View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my Sprint Hero's native IM app I can sign into AIM just fine but only 1/3 of my buddies show up... I thought this might be a common problem but can't find any mention of it anywhere... am I missing something? It's not that offline buddies are hidden.
EDIT: I'm aware of Hi AIM and the other third-party apps available but would rather use the native one if I can get it to work (I hardly touch AIM on the phone, just need to use it every once in awhile). Also, I have the 1.56 update.
