Can someone do a favor for me: open the stock Messages app, open up one of your ALREADY EXISTING threads (dont click "new message"), and try to type really fast. Is there keyboard lag? For me, there is a lot of keyboard lag. It's so slow that, sometimes the autocorrect box does not pop up in time, and I'm just typing freely without corrections.

So I've tried everything root, custom ROM, overclock, removing Sprint bloatware. But no matter what I do, I can't get rid of the typing lag in the native SenseUI "Messages" app.Has ANYONE found a way to type fast and furiously without any lag in the Messages app? I've tried 3rd party keyboards as well, to no avail.

I seem to have noticed that the touchscreen accuracy has reduced with this build, so I think that's part of it, but I'm also wondering if the typing prediction isn't as good as 1.5 was? I just typing doong, meaning to get doing, but it didn't change it. In fact, of the options it did give me for that, "doing" wasn't one of them.
Is it just me being critical knowing it's a beta build, or is anyone else noticing these?
And I've already recalibrated the keyboard and the g-force.
When typing a text message in landscape mode, is there any way to send the text by hitting the enter button? I know on the Moment I was able to hit the enter button and it sent the text. With the Hero I have to hit the actual keyboard button to get back to the thread and hit send...

It would seem that if anyone would empathize with us poor schmucks who got suckered into buying a phone whose OS went obsolete in 3 weeks Google would. Removing / barring the pre-update issues with the native messaging app on the phone, which one of these do you prefer? I am currently using the native app, seems fine to me, I like that I can link contacts to FB etc. Not necessarily looking for something that plagiarize's the iPhone messenger (cartoon bubbles), but I am always open to something new if it is better than the app preloaded on the phone. If you don't use the native app, is there a widget for Handcent or Chomp (like the native) to make viewing and responding easy?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOK I've been running the nightlys and they have been running fine except for the small issue that the native email app included in the ROM(s) never works. I'm trying to use my yahoo email account and when I open the app enter in my email and password I first get a prompt with: "Attention! Mailbox access is not supported for some types of Yahoo! mail accounts etc..."
Then I press OK and then get the initializing screen for "checking incoming server settings" then get a Could not finish prompt error stating that my user name or password is incorrect (which I know is correct and have tried numberous times)
I'm stuck using the lame Yahoo Mail app from the market at the moment, does anyone have a fix for this? Am I the only one experiencing it?
As we call know, our Hero (at the moment at least) runs Android 1.5. Also, it WILL be getting Eclair, which from what I've heard has native CDMA support? What, doest that mean 1.5 did not have CMDA support?
What can we expect from an OS that has native CDMA support? Does it have anything to do with the phone's software performance? I'm just a little confused on this, and if someone couldnt shed some light on it that would be very nice...

I have seen Android phones that can view subscribed calenders from other users before, but I am the only person I know to own a HTC andriod phone and on the Hero I can not see any of my subscribed calendars.The gmail account tied to the the HTC hero has 6 calendars created through gmail interface. View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Huawei Honor U8860, which is rooted and running Miui 3.1.11. I experience an annoying problem with the keyboard. Here is what happens.
Any time I am entering text, whether i'm texting, facebooking, emailing, navigating, googling, etc, the standard android keyboard disappears while i'm typing. It's very random and not consistent. Sometimes I can type normal and sometimes only 10secs before it happens. Then I'll have to wait to get the keyboard reappear. After the keyboard reappears it may stay up for 10 sec before it disappear again.
I have tried installing Touchpal Keyboard. It works fine in the beginning, but after a while the problem come back and the keyboard disappears.
I'm using z2 keyboard and when I flash a new rom then the "learned" typing behaviour get's lost + learned words...
i bet there is a way to keep it, i just need to know where the files are located..
So, I use Chomp for sending SMS and I've noticed something odd has started happening. Every so often when I start to type a message to someone a www pops into the text box. It just shows up attached to the front of the first word I type. This doesn't happen every time, but it's been happening on a semi-regular basis.

I have to upper case the letters then type "I", then switch to the symbols and type ', then back to the letters to type "ll". This just seems way to much for a little word. My BB Tour would recognize so much easier. If there is no easy way to type it, wonder if Froyo will fix it.

Sometimes it does not do it on it's own and I'm having to view things while the keyboard is there. The better keyboard application is better than the stock keyboard in almost every way. But there is one big problem with it that I've found, and that's that it has trouble registering two nearby keys tapped in rapid succession, often registering neither of them. If I try and type "that" with two fingers, I'll often just get "th"-- it interprets left thumb pressing "a" and right thumb pressing "t" as... nothing, I guess.
