View 1 Replies View RelatedI Finally rooted my Sprint HTC hero and was happy after two hours of figuring it out. Well I did a factory reset and I accidentally removed the two IM apps and now my home screen wont load it says the HTC sense has stopped unexpectedly.
View 5 Replies View Relatedhas anyone rooted and used the hero without flashing a rom? even for a little while? my main question is: did or can anything go wrong with a rooted -only- phone? if i cant get the update anywhere ill finally root to delete the useless sprint apps but im happy with the OS as is so im not interested in the risks that may be involved with flashing. thank you for your patience as im new to android.
View 17 Replies View RelatedThere's been a lot of comparison between the stock Hero and Moment but I was wondering if anyone has played with both a rooted Hero and Moment. Becoming more and more set on switching over to the Hero.Rooted & got CL14 on my Moment last night thanks to zefie, numus, and the great guys at sdx, but maybe I just had my expectations too high as I didn't see a large improvement over the stock kernel & ROM, esp in speed (did fix the battery meter and improved battery life thank god!).I understand rooting a Hero makes it faster but by how much? How does it compare to a rooted Moment running a home replacement app (like PandaHome)? This way I feel it's comparing apples to apples in terms of experience, as opposed to compared to a rooted Moment running stock home.Ever since I got the Moment, I've been trying to get Sense-like stuff on it (like a lot of ppl haha). Coming from the less-sophisticated BB Curve, I was surprised when stock Android didn't support things like Facebook integration (I know it's coming in 2.1, but HTC has it now).

I didn't have anything to do with this, and I didn't find this link, I just posted it from my old thread about the overclock widget (thanks to whoever found this). I figured that people who don't check xda regularly (like myself) might want a heads up, so here you go.
i rooted my daughter's sprint hero and installed 1.1 fresh rom. now her phone won't connect via bluetooth with her car. it worked fine before rooting. is there a fix?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running 2.1 rooted and I am trying to flash Fresh's ROM onto my phone. I have put it in the root dir of my SD card. I have renamed it update.zip. When I go into the boot mode and select run update.zip from the menu, it never installs. It always says error. Also, the only choice I have at the boot menu is update. I don't have the choice to choose the zip file I would like to run.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI manually rooted my sprint 2.1 stock rom & removed all sprint bloatware. Running very smoothly & seems to be able to keep up with me. Even after calibrating the keyboard, it can keep up to my 75wps (when flipped horizontal)!
Is there anything, any customizations or whatnot, available for us stock users? I work nearly full-time on a retail schedule and have a highly active toddler so I really don't want to mess with flashing stuff because I *rarely* have more than a half hour-45 minutes to myself XP
Is there a stock 2.1 rom i could flash that also has root. I dont want any of the other stuff the other roms have. Wife has 1.5 stock. I have the latest damged rom. I would like to upgrade hers to latest radio, latest boot rom etc and just 2.1 stock rom with root access.
Or has anyone found a root for 2.1 so i could just install that and root it?
I recently Rooted my Sprint HTC Hero and all was fine. I went around flashing various ROMs to find which one I liked the most. I installed Fresh 3.2.2 and I love it! It keeps Sense UI with extras like the Friend Stream widget, but the only problem is my phone runs on Edge/1x only now and that internet is just too slow!

View 12 Replies View RelatedBefore I even rooted my phone, my charger was having issues charging. At the end of the part that goes into the phone, the black cord fell back and the wires are exposed. It's been like this since late March/April. I'd have to mess with angling the phone in order for it to charge, but once it did, it was solid. I rooted my phone thursday night and put fresh on it. Then yesterday I decided that it wasn't fast enough and I jumped from CM6 to PureHero. All the while it charged, but I still had to mess with it. Now that I've left it on PureHero (although overall, I still haven't found a satisfactory ROM) my phone won't charge at all. Like, when I finally CAN get the light to glow orange, it'll be stuck at the same percentage. I woke up at like 3 in the morning and discovered this so I kept the battery out for the remainder of the night, woke up and put it back in but it's still stuck at the same percentage. Is it the ROM I'm using? Did I fry my battery somehow? Or is it solely the charger? I want to know before I go and buy a new batter/charger.
View 4 Replies View Related1.5 had a very functional and superior looking calculator compared to the very plain and basic functioning calculator in v2.1. I even believe it had a % key/function. Does that calculator exist in a .apk somewhere that I can put on my rooted phone? I don't want a scientific calculator but I would like a better one then the stock 2.1 I got with Damages 2.1 Rom.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed the Sprint 2.1 leak RUU and then rooted. Probably backwards, but everything has been working great for the past few days regardless. My problem is when I try to use something like Titanium Backup. I get a message saying that "busybox works but the "su" command does not elevate to root" It goes on to say my superuser whitelist system app does not work. I tried to install the superuser whitelist app from the market but it said it was incompatible with my phone. What can I do now to get Superuser privileges?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAre we at a point where we need a subforum for rooted Heros? Lately I've been seeing a lot of suggestions, apps, discussion that is only applicable to rooted phones and the thread doesn't always specify that its for rooted only.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have found the secret to getting the HTC Hero to send and recieve MMS on nTelos's network for all you impatient customers who have already rooted your nTelos Hero. All you really need to do this is the android SDK you used to root your hero. First start off by enabling usb debug mode by going to settings, applications, development, and checking USB Debugging Edit: Then open a command prompt. I almost forgot that part. Then we plug the phone into the pc. Assuming your sdk is at "C:android-sdk" without quotes. Reboot and done! You should now have mms both directions. If you have a lot of issues with this process drop me a line at kujars@gmail.com with your 10 digit cell# and I will create an update.zip for you.Confirmed working on Fresh Toast 2.1 Final
