View 25 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having difficulty with Google Maps? I have not been able to make it work at all today. I have tried power off/on the phone, battery pull, unistall updates twice, I still cannot get it to work. HTC EVO stock 2.2
View 4 Replies View RelatedGoogle maps is giving me a force close on my dinc today. Also effecting Place, Navigation. GPS is fine. My location is working as is local weather.
View 6 Replies View Relatedsince the latest stable, and now the 133 full, it seems like 5 or 6 times a day im getting LPP force closes. Anyone else getting this or know of a way to fix this? Could there be something Im doing to cause this? Just to clarify, it happens when trying to hit an icon, as well as when trying to close an app with the back button. In the past, I have hit the home button to exit out, but since made an attempt to change my habits, as it seems hitting home keeps the app running.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI use the calendar app for everything..(standard calendar app) and lately i have been getting alot of force closes after entering an event...i was putting in my softball schedule and after 2 or so games, it would force close...i have had this phone for over a month now and it just now started to do this...any ideas on a fix for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo i partitioned my SD card per the instructions listed on Flipz site and it was working flawlessly! I couldn't believe it! Then I had to reboot, and that's when the Force Closes started and the phone started dragging like a dog. I'm using a Class 2 card, so that may explain the lag, but why the FCs?
I'm hoping I'm still able to use Apps2SD successfully and that a wipe/restore will fix this, because there just isn't a lot of internal memory to play with.
Fresh 2.1 is out now though, so I may just say screw it and start new. I just don't want to have to set the phone up again and reinstall apps.
I have noticed several times that after updating an application in the Market, the app will never work again. This has happened with Pandora, Key Ring Finder, Audio Manager and countless other apps. With some other apps, after updating the application, it will work fine, but the name will change to something odd like com.chompsms.Well, i was reading through Key Ring Finder update and realized that something is occuring specifically with the HTC Hero that is causing this with application updates. But there is a ::drum roll please:: workaround! When updating an app, do not select the 'update' option! This is where the programs become corrupt. Instead, click 'uninstall', then reinstall the application. The freshly installed copy will work perfectly!
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust an FYI - don't update to the latest Facebook App version. It force closes every time even after reboots & reinstalls.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I did the upgrade at home, no problem, then loaded My Back up from the market, and reloaded my apps and data from my SD card. I got all the way to load HTC home (109 items). At item 107, force closed pops up. Now when it goes to load the home page it's an endless cyle of forced closed.
Took it to the Sprint store, nothing they can do but reload the 2.1, come back in 2 hours . I do, go home and run threw all these steps again, but this time without loading the task killer app (store recomendation). Same results!
I have seen people complaining of the same issue, but I have yet to find a fix. I just flashed Fresh Hero 2.3.3 and every inbound call force closes. I came from a clean root, I flashed the stock RUU and rooted and then flashed Fresh. I have tried all the kernels they say fix this and none do. Any ideas? Or should I give up v2.3.3 and go back to Toast? Don't want to leave Fresh, it's the best ROM I have found yet!
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have had a Sprint HTC Hero for a while and I absolutely love it, but when my messages get over only a couple 100 or even less, I will be sending a message or reading one and the messages app will force close and then when I come back to my messages, they are all deleted. I also often have to restart the phone just to get the messages to work again. At first I just thought of this as a way the hero refreshes itself, but I have been missing things and losing messages all the time lately and it is bothering me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just put an address on a contact, saved it, and when i went to view address it give me people app FC! What the hell?
Does it just show you the address or does it try to bring up maps or something like it to actually SHOW you the address? If so, that's why, because i removed all that garbage. Running Fresh 2.1.2.
I have to say that this default Application is truly simple and easy to deal with, and that makes it all the more significant in my view. However, I am running into an odd problem, and I would like to see if anyone has had the same experience, and/or could offer their assistance in this matter.
I have linked all of my contacts to their FB profiles, and all seems to work extremely well. However, for reasons beyond my understanding, when I attempt to click on the "Album" icon (To view the photographs of a FB Friend), this App. always makes me go through a "Force Close". This ONLY happens with ONE of my contacts though, as with every other contact I still retain the ability to view their FB Photo Albums. I was thinking that the one contact in question here, possibly has too many photographs for this App. to handle(?), but I can get it to work on a very rare occasion despite such.
I would really like to hear from folks in regard to this issue, because it's puzzling, and somewhat irritating.
I have rebooted, and I have also taken the particular FB profile off of my contact list, and then re-applied it (All to no avail).
Here is the error message:
Just tried to delete a messages thread in the stock sms app that was 480 messages long. It was one thread of about 15 that were saved in my phone from people I communicate with on a regular basis. The phone froze up for about a minute, then message force closed. Opening up the messages app again reveals All of my threads have been wiped clean.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like Google Maps to over-ride the sleep timer on my phone and always stay on. I downloaded the app "Trapster", which is a police notification overlay on top of Google Maps. It has the feature of over-riding the sleep timer and keeps the display always on. Disabling the sleep timer is not an option. I would like Google Maps to have the same functionality a 3rd party overlay app is giving me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI noticed an update for Google Maps to 3.2.1. Being on the Hero, GM is pre-loaded and I don't know how to update it to the new version (since it's not listed in my Market downloaded, being that it was pre-loaded on the phone).Does it automatically do it, or do I have to uninstall and grab the new version from the Market? I went into the settings, but there was nothing there to check for updates, just 'Latitude' and the other standard options.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to keep the screen on while in google maps? Especially while plugged into the car charger. I get annoyed of having to turn the phone on and then unlocking it.... then having gmaps reload to my location while I'm driving.
In my previous TPro, there was a setting where I could just keep the screen on if my phone was plugged in.
Every time I open Google Maps, a little pop-up window says "Unable to load the URL" The program works fine, it's just kind of annoying. Does anyone else experience this? Is there a known solution? I cleared the cache and data and force-stopped the ap, but it still happens. For what it's worth, the same exact thing happened on my Moment (well, on the Moment Google Maps didn't work at all due to the POS GPS)
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo just starting like about a week ago, my phone will reboot if i go into google maps.I press google maps, press menu, then the screen goes to the white background with green htc, and reboots. This happens all the time without fail. This sucks cuz I use the google maps a lot as a traffic report and gps. This is not good. The hero has too many problems.I feel like nothing works properly on this phone.. anyone else have this problem? fix?
View 13 Replies View RelatedA couple of times now I've had this problem on my Hero, and today it was a huge pain in the ass, as I was looking for the place I was headed to but couldn't find it.The problem is my Google Maps couldn't lock onto my signal it was jumping all over the state at first told me I was in Sacramento (one of the turn directions next to it had a misspelling "Socramento", wtf?), then Santa Rosa, then as I kept driving and pressing My Location, it switched to a random street about a mile away, then dumped me in the ocean.During this time, the GPS icon kept blinking and didn't stay solid. Also, once it picked up a location, it didn't continue to update it as it should do.I had to restart the phone and I think it's working OK now but this is at least the 2nd time it's happened to me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI opened google maps and my location is not accurate at all. I understand that if I turn on gps options it becomes much more accurate, but it's a real battery eater. coming from a 2 year old samsung mysto on Helio network that ran google maps down to the meter for me (and only needed to be recharged every 4 days) it seems like this should work better.Am I missing something? That little mysto couldn't have been running active GPS pinging the whole time. What made it so much better at locating?

If I long press the home button it keeps showing google maps as running. How do i turn stop this so it wont keep coming back I think its draining my battery
