Sprint HTC Hero : Comments About SD Card Compatibility
Nov 2, 2009
If anyone has had any problems with SDHC 16GB devices?? HTC specs the Hero as being compatible with all forms (sizes of micro SD) of SD cards up to, and including, 32GB. BUT, I just want to throw this out for comments especially to people who have gone to 16GB.I will be streaming from the card with music and video (MP4) so I want the speed of Class 6 devices.

I finally made the jump. Rooted today, after much study, and seems to have gone well. Backed up, and ready to go with a ROM, ROM manager installed. So, after untold hours of reading and digging, I cannot come up with a ROM that I can pin down as a good, solid starting point -- or better yet, one I might stick with for a while at least. They are so many. Did much reading on the earlier Fresh RO, but keep gravitating back to the newer ones like Cyanogen, Bugles Beast, etc. But I cannot find any comprehensive talk about these Roms -- it is just scattered and piecemeal. So thought I would ask those who have actually downloaded and flashed these ROM as to their opinion. I use my phone for the basic services. I need solid phone, MSM, Market access and installation, etc. I do not need blazing speed -- much rather stability and function. Where to begin? What say folks?

I'm looking a decent wired headset with the in-ear earbuds.I like the skullcandy stuff but I didn't know theirs is compatible with the Sprint HTC Hero. I'm specifically looking at the skullcandy full metal jacket. Can anyone tell me if these will work?

I have been searching for information about this topic for a little while, and I cannot seem to find an answer. To start, my eris is coming in the mail on wednesday, and I am trying to get everything ready for its arrival.I know the Eris takes a microSD card (seeing as it ships with it), however I hear people talking about using a c6 standard SD card in their eris. So, my question is, does the eris take both micro sd cards (ie 2 slots) or does it take an SD card and the micro SD uses an adapter to fit?

I already had one to replace the one that it comes with at home so I didn't have Sprint open it to replace it. I forgot to ask as well.I've searched online and the "chin" hero seems to have a little dent where you can prop it open. The Sprint Hero looks pretty solid... but I know you have to open it to replace the SD card so my question is how do I do it without ruining the molding?

I am in the process of rooting my phone. What does "unmounting" the sd card and "mounting" it mean? I get that it means taking it out of the phone and in, but is there a certain way of doing it? I have my phone plugged in the computer right now, so can I just take the micro sd card out? Or can I just take it out whenever? And when I put it back in, is there a certain way to do that?Sorry for such a dumb question, I just want to be sure I do everything right!

Downloaded CM6 R1 for Hero onto SD Card (had Fresh ROM) and then flashed CM 6 and Google apps as per instructions.
Everything seems top work well except that the phone/SD Card is not recognized when connected to computer with USB.
I found this out when I went to try tethering and PDA Net. Neither worked and then I realized the phone is not being recognized by the computer.
My computer at work tried to load some ADB drivers but errored out.
When I connect the phone to either of my 3 computers I either get no popup or a popup saying do you want to load ADB drivers (which errors out).

Sorry if this has been discussed on here before but I did search for about 20 minutes and found nothing relating to what I am experiencing. I get the following error when trying to take pictures on my HTC Hero (Sprint) "Unable to save file to SD card due to insufficient file permissions" I have removed and replaced the card. It will work for about 15 minutes then the same error. I also backed up everything and formatted the card. It worked again for about 15 minutes then the same error.

I did a search and couldn't find anything on this.I am still using the stock 2GB microSD card, and looking to root. Can I root with my current card (which has 650MB-ish available), and after rooting just purchase a new card and swap it out. Or would it be more advantageous to purchase the new SD card prior to rooting?

I have a rooted HTC Hero (Sprint), Fresh, Gumbo Kernel that runs wonderfully. Lateley however, my phone is not reading my sd card. Im unaware of the class, but it is an 8gb scan disk minisd. It has worked for over a year. I try to copy my information onto my desktop to reformat the sd, but it stops in the middle of the transfer. I have tried to find info on this issue, and I apologize if a thread has already been started.

I'm running Fresh 2.4.0 and I've run out of space on my internal memory (not that many apps, but still less than 20mg free). I'm looking to use App2SD, but the link off the Fresh 2.4.0 XDA site for App2SD FAQ's (FAQ: Apps2sd Information) suggest that I use a Class 6 micro SD card. However, the Sprint HTC Hero website says the phone can only use Class 2 settings. Is there any advantage to spending the extra money and buy a Class 6 card? Is it really necessary to run App2SD? Any insight would be helpful!

I've been having a huge amount of issues with my Hero since going to the 2.2 upgrade. In the middle of all of these issues I formatted my SD card before making a back up. I'm looking for someone who can give me the generic SD Card files from the Sprint HTC Hero, mainly the HTC Sync files that were on the card.
