I just checked software update and it tells me 2.1 is now available for upgrade. however, from the sonyericsson site i have to download PCcompanion and do the upgrade via PC.so, my questions..
1. i can not upgrade OTA?
2. i am a Mac user, i must do the upgrade from a PC?

Please can you advise if it is possible to get the stock SE keyboard and dictionary back after upgrading to 2.1. I actually liked the way the dictionary displayed rather than the scroll that i use now.Also please can you advise why the stock android keyboard only suggests names in the dictionary rather than real words?

This is really just a silly thing but it's bugging me - I've put the Android keyboard on the phone after the upgrade to 2.1 and the preview of the smileys has disappeared
I can see them in their raw form by long pressing the smiley face on the number pad, but I'm not fluent in smiley language! and also, not all of them translate anyway; I can't get the angry face anymore for example.
Is there any way of getting the smiley page to work as it did on 1.8, where the More button would bring up the pictures? (can you tell I have a banging headache this morning, having trouble with words.

It said, I think, "details on the sonyericsson.com support pages", and no, checking exactly what it said is not an option, I need to use my phone, not keep a message displayed until I have time to do something that potentially renders the phone useless. Web pages refer to installing PC companion which I haven't done. Mea f-ing culpa, it didn't work and I didn't bother. So now the instructions just say connect and either pc companion will install or it's already installed. Neither is true. Trying to look at specific instructions for X10 Mini Pro (or even X10 mini), btw, tells me the page does not exist (it has "wandered off", which strikes me as something that a 10 year old support page might be doing, but one for their newest lines? Come on.) And by the by, the X10 mini pro is not selectable when creating a forum account I didn't want. Glad if someone could help, but honestly expecting another expensive SE brick.

I have a BT Yahoo account working fine on it, but Hotmail refuses to work. O2 have sent me the settings and I have put them in manually too, still nothing works. I tried the Settings/Sound and Display/Audible touch tones menu, and the Language & Keyboard/ Sound on keypress menu, in both cases I selected "on" but still I don't hear the keyboard sound which I find very useful since I am partially sighted.

1) The Spb MS panel selector disapear.
2) From the Home desktop is impossible to select or open other mask or menu. s very difficult also, shutdown the phone because the home desktop (Spb desktop like the WM standard dektop) prompt ahead and close everythink.

There was an upgrade which installed all Vodafone 360 apps on my xperia x10 mini. From that moment on my email app is not working anymore. Everytime I start the app it comes up with greyed out account and password field. I can not setup the account I had setup before. The user field says "null@vodafone.ie". I looked around in the settings trying to find a solution and found that the Baseband version is "Unknown". I need urgently a fix for this as I need the email for work.
I tried PC companion to upgrade/downgrade but when the upgrade engine starts it comes up with an error that it can not be started and I should contact Sony Ericson.

I have been trying to update from 1.6 to 2.1 these last few days. Depending on the USB port I either get an error when PC Companion, or Update Service is in the preparation stage, something like: All components needed to continue could not be found. Or I get to the stage when you turn off the phone and restart it with the backbutton pressed which leads to XP wanting to find drivers for SEMC usb flash. By looking through other communities I found those drivers could be found in: C:Program Files (x86)Sony EricssonUpdate ServicesetupdriversUSBFlashDriver.zip. I could initually install those to one USB port, but when trying to download the update through Update Service I get yet another error that the task could not be completed.
