I am thinking of getting a Xperia X10 mini/pro handset to replace my nokia phone. With my Nokia I could do things like add and remove contacts through the pc (Running windows xp) and also view edit and delete SMS messages through the PC what I was wondering is what is the software (free) that I would need to download for the Xperia X10 mini/pro ? only I couldnt find it on the SE website.

I have used SE handsets for over 15 years now and never felt the need to seek assistance until now. The x10 mini is driving me mad. I have just upgraded to it on orange. Where has all the functionality for using it as a phone gone? I was extremely embrassed when I was trying to send details of a contact from my address book to my friends HTC handset and failed. No bluetooth file transfer and no ability to send contacts via sms. This so much functionality missing from basic functions: speed dialing from the number pad for example, that I am seriously thinking about giving it back to orange. There are lots of new functions and apps such as WiFi and GPS, maps etc but there is not enough battery life to make them useful in real life situations. I found the old UI on W890i much more polished with lovely touchs on the media player and photo albums. Is android all it is cracked to be?

I have given up on trying to find the answer to this ridiculously basic question in the User Guide. (I must not be using the keywords that the user guide understands!) Can you advise me on how to delete multiple text messages at the same time, rather than deleting them individually? My phone is an X10 mini pro.

I recently bought a X10 mini/pro. Today I took a look at my latest invoice from the phone company. I was billed for sending a text message to a swedish phone number...........Searching the internet I found out that many people experience that their Sony Ericsson phones, by themselves, send text messages to a phone number belonging to Sony Ericsson, Sweden.

cannot send text messages on virgin network can call go on internet but cannot send a text but can send a mms so i dont understand someone put me out of my misery sms centre it says not set but will not store the number given by virgin

When I save contacts to the memory card I get a file named 00001.vcf. When I open this file in outlook it seems to contain only the first of all my contacts. Can I open this file in another way to get all my contacts? Is it possible to import all my contacts to Pc Companion? When I syncronize the phone with this program I only get the bookmarks exported from the phone to the program. No contact is exported. I have already lost my contacts once and will be sure that I have saved them correctly.

Strange thing but after update to 2.1 I can run the Backup/Restore and choose Contacts, and it apparently does the job
I can't see a thing though, but if I write a text I can write a name and details will pop up? What happens?
So I can type a name in ph-no and details come up, but I can't choose the Contact itself ?
Are there any other apps that I need to use as it worked fine in 1.6 ?
SE: get a move on and fix this !

I have all my contacts saved in international fomrat but the x10 mini does not recognise the number when I get call from a saved contact (number is coming in in national format). whats the story here.
anyway arround saving numbers in national and international format for the same contact?

Can't find way to stop my messages showing in the notification bar while the phone is locked.
Its weird. It only happens sometimes. Is it a bug or a setting?
Seems silly that anyone could read your messages even if the phone is locked.

I have upgraded the SD card in my phone to 4gb and now I have also lost all of my contacts Last week I lost the ability to download/update anything from Market and now this! I have used the option to copy all my contact from the SIM card and that doesn't work AND the SE sync will not work either, and just constantly fails to complete synchronization.

I have updated my phone because I had gotten some new contacts through facebook, and I would not ..Therefore, I also update the phone again to reset it all ..Now I can not get the contacts in the phone book, though I had backed up everything. And last time I updated my phone, there were no problems getting the contacts out again!?When I send an sms I can easily find my contacts, search for a name!Can not figure out how to have them in my phone again ..So I have the latest update on my Sony Ericsson x10 mini and finally I got the latest on there was no problem with getting the contacts in the phonebook!

I activate timescape and it took all my facebook contacts and put it in the address book of my phone, and now i can not see my Sim contacts. how can I undo this, I already turn off facebook in timescape, maybe i should delete it for now as i don't use it, i like to keep my phone contact separate from facebook and access facebook only when i need it. and now i can't configure personal ring for the people i have in my phone book, because it took all the facebook information and its with timescape and doesn't have an option to set a ring for the contact in edit part i just can add it to favorites o delete contact. and i still can not see my Sim contacts they are somewhere because when i tap a name in search bar it shows me the contact and phone, but I'd like to see what i have. i already export my contact from Sim to phone but they still don't show.

I earlier used Sony Ericsson W810i phone. That phone had a Sinc. software to sincronize with your computer. Therefore my contacts were there firmly on my computer. Recently I purchased a Xperia X10 mini pro. When I tried to sincronize using the website, my phone contacts all went disorgarganised and certain things were deleted. How can I get my contacts in Windows 7 Contacts to my new Xperia X10 mini pro phone?

I recently updated my x 10 mini pro to éclair. The problem i faced was wen i synced my phone with my goggle account and imported contacts from a vcf file that i had backed up earlier, all my contacts have same phone number multiple times. I have disabled syncing goggle contacts, disabled showing goggle contacts and just the phone contacts to show... but of i edit a contact and select the option of split contacts.

I'm so angry it's hard for me to even type. I upgraded my X10 mini pro to Android 2.1 today and I followed the instructions and the YouTube video EXACTLY step by step.I made a back-up before the update, with the updated Back-up & restore app.Now the Android update is done and i've tried and tried but I can't get my contacts back. Every time I run the restore function of Back-up & restore it tells me the restore is done, but when I go to my contacts list, it's empty.

Does anybody know how to sync facebook pics with contacts, even though your contacts have nicknames? I have tried the facebook app "sony ericsson contacts" and it doesnt work. Tried to merge contacts manually on the phone but then my contacts shows their facebooknames and not their nicknames.

I hav more than 1200 frnds in facebook and the contacts is taking up more than 21MB of space in my phone memory. I just want to sync my google contacts. As soon as I log in facebook in timescape, the contacts start downloading from facebook.
Is there any way that i can unsync my facebook and twitter in my contacts so tat i hav only my google contacts in my phone? Xperia X10 mini pro. Android Eclair (2.1)

Did two different bacups, and I am positive that I did backup of contacts. Also did a bacup of all contacts on my online account at sonyericsson.com Did an upgrade of android 1.6 -> 2.1. I ran restore. Everythinge else is restored, just not one single Name or Number. No contacts. Tried both bacups several times, I get a confirmation that the restore is done. Still nothing. Hooked it up to my PC, and performed a sync with my page on sonyericsson.com. Nothing. I am at a loss. It's always a small disaster to loose all numbers and names. I still have them all, I just can't get my phone to give a ****, it seems. ( Also tried installing the new Backup & Restore (1. Nov), m.sonyericsson.com/backup, but it gives me the message "not installed" every time i try. Nothing more. I think maybe it's because I might allready have that program on my phone).
