Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 : Update To 2.1 - Camera Not Working
Nov 12, 2010I did the upgrade but my camera is not working, it says camera not available.

I did the upgrade but my camera is not working, it says camera not available.
I only got this phone 2 days ago and I don't think the camera is working, or I need to set it up somehow.
Firstly, the button on the side doesn't activate it. It does go into it from the apps screen though.
However, when you push the camera button to take a photo, it focusses for a brief time then it bleeps loudly and the focus square on the screen turns green. It never actually takes the shot.
Does the update finally add camera flash or are we still stuck with this stupid photo light thing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWill the android version 2.1 update provide the X10 a proper flash LED when taking photo's? Currently, it's somewhat cumbersome to go all the way into settings to turn on the LED light (that stays on until you turn it off) just to take a well lit photo. So I'm just wondering will the LED flash on the new OS update provide the automatic LED flash?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the X10 today and all is well apart from one thing. After i connected the phone to my PC and i got the PC software installed it said there was an update for my phone. But after trying a few times the update process wont work. After holding the back key and plugging in the USB cable the software wont move on to the next step. I have tried the stand alone update program from the sony site but this does the same.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this topic has been discussed before, but I've just purchased my X10 mini and tried updating the phone software but I'm receiving an error regarding my internet connection, even though my connection is fine. The download gets to near completion and then I receive an error message. I tried updating via PC Companion and the update available on the site (version 2.10.10.9) but the same problem occurs. What could be the reason for this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWell I live in the UK with a Vodafone handset and just upgraded OTA, before the update when using the dialer and selecting a contact then selecting the number would usually dial straight away. After the update when I select the contact and select the number I want to dial what it does now is take it to the number screen with the number on thus slowing down the call process and making me put it towards my ear and pressing random numbers before realizing that I haven't even made the call yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else get this error message from time to time? Its very annoying and happens at the worst time (ie when a really super photo shot happens).I either have to reboot my phone before it will comes right or alternatively I have to keep trying to reload the camera and sometimes on about the 4th or 5th attempt it comes right. Can this be rectified? Is it a setting i have wrong? This is such an amazing phone, but man oh man, does it have some bugs that need to be worked out
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to determine whether 8mp 4:3 is better than 6mp 16:9.
6mp seems to be bigger but I'd like to use 8mp. Which one is optimal?
On a side note is there a way to view videos recorded on the X10 in landscape mode rather than in portrait?
I dunno, After using the SE Satio and C905, those cameras are MUCH better than this one, Considering those were so great I was positive this one was going to be excellent! Its definitely not bad, but for an 8mp camera its not that great, Its like the W995, it has an 8mp camera on it and its WAY under par, does NOT take good pictures. Anyway Im not really disappointed or anything I just found it a bit under-par, Im willing to bet that the 5mp camera on the Galaxy S will be better than this one, The BEST cameras on cell phones Ive ever used are the Omnia HD and the Satio.
Also Something Ive noticed about all the android phones Ive used, the way they take pictures is.....awkward. Its hard to explain but when I used the satio and C905, they way they took pictures it felt like a real camera, Ive used the Hero, N1, and now X10 and they way they shoot the pics it just doesn't feel the same, again hard to explain without you using so....
I rooted my phone, and deleted the "Camera 1.0" app, thinking that "Camera 1.6" is the latest version of the application. When I deleted "Camera 1.0", video cam functionality ceased (even with third party apps) and basic UI (ie. the side camera button doesn't work anymore) is not fully functional.
Is there a Camera App that can be retrieved anywhere so I may re-install it? Otherwise, Is there anything that can be done to restore everything back to normal? (fyi, I already tried reseting the phone to no success).
I am thinking of getting this phone or the Nexus1, but neither seem to have a front facing camera, is that true? Ive seen people online saying the x10 has a FFcamera, but I had a look at the pdf manual of the phone, and there was no mention of a second camera. That would be a massive negative for me seeing Fring has already brought video calls to Symbian phones.
View 26 Replies View RelatedEight Issue Camera responsiveness, is there a way to fix this app or will it be glitch until the update and/or even after the update? Is it just my phone or every time I attempt to take a picture it takes quite sometime after I take the picture the actual moment the picture is captured? not to mention the lag between pictures, the lack of burst mode, and another thing that is quite annoying why does the image in the camera gets so DARK when you press the camera button to focus? the image on the screen should represent the actual photo your capturing not some dark version of it one or two seconds after you click/touch the screen to capture the picture.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've become a bit confused about the X10's camera. When I first bought mine, I could have sworn the camera had a "multi-shot" setting, but I can no longer find it. Google results show up a couple of old reviews online which claim the X10 has multi shot capabilities, but I can find nothing on any spec sheets.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm really struggling with the camera on the x10. I was expecting going from tocca ultra to SE, (both 8.1) to be quite similar in quality, but this ain't the case. Picture is half the size of the screen and pics during night are awful!! Cant even seem to find the flash.
View 10 Replies View RelatedThis looks to be one of the best android phones out there. Although I prefer physical keyboards, I'm willing to give it up if the published specs for this device are accurate If it is in fact running Android 2.0, and it uses T-Mobile's 3G bands, I'm all over this baby the day it comes out.I would prefer stock Android to make it easier to upgrade in the future but I am willing to give it up for the Snapdragon processor and 8MP camera.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if people with the Xperia X10 that also own other high end phones, could take a photo in different settings (different lighting etc) of the same photo with both phones. I was just wondering how good the camera really is compared to other high-end phones. I sold my other phones so I cannot do it, but I would be excited to see some results
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have now had my X10 for a week and am quite happy with it in the main. The only problem i seem to have, is it sometimes reboots when i try to use the camera. It first did it before i had any marketplace apps on, so i don't think its due to something i installed. It happens when i try to open the camera, and it has also happened when the shopsavvy app tried to start the camera.
