iv been trying to update my x10 all evening with no luck i have the latest companion downloaded iv backed up my data iv disabled my anti virus software still no good. i live in the republic of Ireland and im with the meteor network! im currently on 1.6 android platform! i get as far as step 2(prepare) on the phone software update but it just says INSTALLER ERROR UNABLE TO INSTALL OR START PHONE SOFTWARE COMPONENTS

I have hundreds of friends on facebook so when I got this phone, i was expecting tonnes of updates on Timescape. All I'm getting are small notification such as someone uploading one picture to their profile. I don't see any status updates at all.

I have a peculiar problem with updates for Facebook in Timescape.If I enter Facebook directly all updates are shown fine. However, there have been no updates to facebook posts in Timescape for 2 days - setting is set to update per hour. If I click through one of the old posts in timescape it shows me a Facebook login screen - but whenever I type in my Facebook login it flicks back the emailaddress/phone number to show my phone number rather than my username!?

My Timescape widget is not updating and still shows an SMS I received almost a week ago as the most recent message with caption "2 hours ago". I have changed my facebook updates to "Update automatically = never" and not included in the main spline, but have SMS and emails regularly appearing which is what I want to see in the widget. Anyone else got similar issue, or even better anyone 'had' similar issue and found a fix they'd like to share? At the moment it's a big waste of screen space.

I got question from SE PC Companion if I wanted to update. I updated, and followed every step. But when I restart my X8, I've lost all data, and I still got android 1,6. The Backup app wont Recovery my data, even if I saved it.

I recently went through a process recommended by Sony Support to download latest software update to my X10 (depite the fact that the inbuilt update process repeatedly informed me I had the latest software.) Now when i use the inbuilt procedure od SETTINGS/About Phone/Software update/ Update Now (with the WiFi & mobile networks setting selected) my X10 helpfully tells me "your phone will now search to see if any new sofware is available". After a few seconds it then informs me "Could not update - network error".

i successfully debranded my rogers x10a to a generic x10a firmware. but for some reason i cant seem to update it to R1FA016. both ota and sony update software keeps telling me that my phone has the latest software. i was wondering if any1 faced similar issues and if there is a solution to this problem.

my x10i crash after updating to 2.1. I try to run repair but once it reach to download stage it says there is no update available for your phone please try again later. I try to restore operating system since one week but no luck. Currently when I power on Sony Ericsson logo will appear then it became dark screen. please extend your support in how to rectify this issue as soon as possible.

I rooted my phone to use barnacle wifi tether and titanium backup to delete unwanted applications. Now I can't install the latest updates for my x10 mini pro. I can download the software from my phone but can't install them. I also tried SE update service and PC companion. Update Service just says my phone is up to date and exits.PC companion says the same thing "your phone is up to date". I read somewhere today that you cantnot update ur phone after rooting it so I tried to repair my phone using PC companion but that failed too. I got a download error and something about checking my internet connection. I was wondering if anyone knows a way of flashing my phone with the original u20i generic uk so i can update again.

When i update my phone through the update software, i follow all steps correct and after downloading, and installation to the phone till about 99% of progress installation, says always "Failed to install updates" and i remove cable and restart the phone, it installs and customize the system, it says every time updates availble after that..

Whenever I try to connect my Xperia to my pc via USB port nothing happens. The problem started after I updated my phone's software not to 2.1 (as its not available for my phone as yet) but another update that the software said was available. Upon completing the update I then reconnected my phone to the USB port but then my computer said there's no drivers installed for my phone. I've tried letting windows search for drivers but no luck with that. I find this strange when previously everything worked fine and I could browse the files on my memory card, but now all I get is no drivers are available. I've tried searching for drivers on line, but there doesn't seem to be none. Is there any way to solve this problem?

I am a new x10 owner, I have 1 dekstop, 2 laptops, and a playstation3 all connected to my router wirelessly and they all work fine, so the signal strength and availability are definitely out of question. I've tried using different security protocols and they all yield the same result, it cannot successfully obtain an IP address. Occasionally it would work, but most of the time it doesn't.

Up until Sunday, my Sat Nav on either Co Pilot or Google Navigation was perfect - it knew exactly where I was and was incredibly accurate.On Sunday, for some reason, both sat nav apps can't seem to pin point my location and think I'm up to 30 feet away from where I actually am.. which then has a problem with navigation as it thinks I'm on another street.I tried re-installing the phone software (using PC Companion, so it was completely a clean install) and this still hasn't helped.

I only got this phone 2 days ago and I don't think the camera is working, or I need to set it up somehow.
Firstly, the button on the side doesn't activate it. It does go into it from the apps screen though.
However, when you push the camera button to take a photo, it focusses for a brief time then it bleeps loudly and the focus square on the screen turns green. It never actually takes the shot.

I only got my X10 just over a week ago and the menu, home and back buttons on the bottom were randomly not working and it's only becoming more and more consistant. It's driving me nuts and it's especially frustrating since it's a brand new phone. I can't find anything on the internet and yes my phone software is upgraded. The guy at Rogers was like oh welllll guess you'll just have to wait 2 weeks until the next upgrade then MAYBE it will work again.
