Jul 15, 2009I own an HTC Magic and am about to go travelling around my country.
I have the 3g connection on the magic and want to know if I can share it somehow to my laptop using a wireless network or the usb data cable. I would love to be able to surf the net on my laptop using the phone as the modem!
Does anybody know if this is possible - what apps I need and how to do it!

Apr 8, 2010Have finally received my X10 and must say am very impressed with it on the whole.Am finding it fast and responsive but do get the occassional need to tap the selection again and have also experienced the 'a' issue with the keyboard.
Have got a few questions which hopefully you guys can help with as Android is all new to me having come from Windows Mobile:
*Is there a way to disable the GPRS connection as it seems to be continuously connected or is this normal with Android?
*Do you guys know of a GPRS data app that can monitor my internet usage?
*Am going to purchase 'Betterkeyboard' from the Marketplace but if I was to factory reset the handset would I be able to download the app without paying again.
still scratching the surface of Android and the X10 so haven't come across the common complaints yet e.g. low sound both incall and ring tone...

Sep 14, 2010I just bought the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and realized it cannot share internet to a computer via bluetooth or wifi. Is there any apps or anything else which enables it to easy share internet? I have found something called Android wifi tether. But this does not work for Sony Ericsson.I really need an application for this purpose and I cannot wait until Sony Ericsson's comes with the update for Android 2.1.

Sep 21, 2010I got an X10 mini pro. It feels great. I tried Internet access but I don't know how I get that without using my telephony operator (and being charged for every byte transferred).
I have internet connection home on my computer. I thought connecting my X10 mini pro to my computer through USB would be enough to have free internet and download from Android Market among other things. However, it doesn't work like that. I tried to activate "Airplane mode" so as to cut off al wireless connections and use USB "forcing" my X10 mini pro to look for th internet that way but it does not have internet access through USB connection with my computer (Internet works great on my computer).

Nov 18, 2010I'm just trying to work through my phone after updating to 2.1, it's like having a new phone and starting all over again! On the new 2.1 if you got to Settings, Wireless and Network, Mobile Networks....the top two are "Data Roaming" and "Date Traffic". Is DATA TRAFFIC equivalent to the Internet/MMS application on 1.6? If I click Yes to Data Traffic it warns me that "addtional charges may apply....." etc etc. I didn't get that warning on 1.6? Is this just the standard internet connection?

When I have wi fi turned off, as I can't connect when I am not in work anyway I use the usual O2 facilty however in this mode, I cannot download anything. Oct 10, 2010As soon as I plugged the USB cable in the computer it started installing PC Companion, this all installed correctly. I cannot open the file sharing option the only time its will open is when the phone is not connected, so I do this then connect my phone and thats it nothing else.
I go on Media Go and I just cannot transfer any files over to my phone the only transfer option I get is to put it into another folder. My sd card that comes with the phone will keep saying unavaliable. Now I am not normally slow at working phones but this has me completely stumped.
