I am experiencing an issue where I am able to browse the internet fine but Google maps can't access the internet via my 3G connection.I have reset my phone back to its default settings but it is still having the same issue.

I am a new user - lovely phone but my old black and white nokia had more functionality with calenders and reminders.
I do not use online only connected through my PC.
I do not have internet access on my SIM - all I want is a camera video phone with calender alarm clock and reminders.
I can not get a calender to operate.
I put a friends SIM card in to get internet access as phone kept asking me to start a gmail account to use the calender - after I take out the SIM it stops working
I have reset phone and updated softwares and still no calender option without google. What do I do now - the manual is NO HELP. How can I connect phone to PC and bring contacts over without this stupid synching I would never use.
I could not get on the net whilst at football, no 3G symbol. That might have been how i left it but my friend sat next to me with a very old phone got the net straight away?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm just trying to work through my phone after updating to 2.1, it's like having a new phone and starting all over again! On the new 2.1 if you got to Settings, Wireless and Network, Mobile Networks....the top two are "Data Roaming" and "Date Traffic". Is DATA TRAFFIC equivalent to the Internet/MMS application on 1.6? If I click Yes to Data Traffic it warns me that "addtional charges may apply....." etc etc. I didn't get that warning on 1.6? Is this just the standard internet connection?

When I have wi fi turned off, as I can't connect when I am not in work anyway I use the usual O2 facilty however in this mode, I cannot download anything. I seem to be receiving my email notification ok. Is there something I may need to change in my settings?

I could access it on 1.6 software (there would be those 2 arrows one on up on on down) and now I can't get that connection again. And one more question, how come that I'm not visible on Bluetooth at all and I can't send any data over bluetooth, or at least receive.

I have internet connection home on my computer. I thought connecting my X10 mini pro to my computer through USB would be enough to have free internet and download from Android Market among other things. However, it doesn't work like that. I tried to activate "Airplane mode" so as to cut off al wireless connections and use USB "forcing" my X10 mini pro to look for th internet that way but it does not have internet access through USB connection with my computer (Internet works great on my computer).

Issue: Unable to access the Andriod market and other google applications pre installed in my phone.
Background:
1. I brought an new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro mobile phone.
2. I am a resident of India and I use the Airtel network.
3. I can connect my phone to the WiFi at home, and to the Mobile Office GPRS services provided by airtel.
4. I can browse internet when on GPRS or Wifi and I can also access facebook using the facebook for android apps.
5. I can acccess GMail via the email application and the web browser.
6. However, when I try accessing the Android market or the Gmail apps or GTalk - it asks me for a google login
Problem faced:
1. I give my google login, but I get a reply stating that the server is unreachable.
2. This therefore, prevents me from accessing the Android market
3. This also prevents me form effectively using the Google apps installed in the phone.
Steps Taken:
1. I have contacted Sony Xperia Technical support in India and the team was incapable and unable to effectively debug this issue.
I've tried downloading the settings for internet and stuff on my phone but it just won't connect. How do I get it so I can get onto the internet?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, the problem might be only because I don't know how to set up my phone. It is my first smart / android phone. So please cut answers like "check settings or L2use your phone etc" I am trying to find an answer for the following issues:
1) My email client - default client pre-instaled is not working as expected, I set up incoming + outcoming servers correctly - confirmed by email provider as well as my operator. I can receive emails ( with 3hours automatical check I never got a single notification regarding new email ) but the problem is that I CANNOT SEND EMAILS, well I can, but they never arrive ! I have tried this several times and failed. Any tips on this one ?
2) Google Maps or any other map / navi application from market is working only when I am connected to Wi-Fi Is there any offline possibility ? like a downloadable offline map ? Also I am confused about my 3G connection is not working with this application...but more to 3G at point no. 3
3) 3G connection not working as expected - I can browse internet with it, acces my email or facebook through the browser. But when I try the facebook client pre-instaled it never connects, nor does meebo (icq), google maps or market. It says something similar to "connection timedout" or "server packet not connected". If it would be a case of wrong settings then it probably wouldn't browse the internet, would it? Otherwise I am happy with my first android phone, it has few bugs. But give me a perfect freshie on market

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having trouble staying connected to "Wi-Fi"? I am having 3 problems:
#1: For some reason, my phone will show the connection and 10-15 minutes later, the connection is gone. Nothing changed, the router is like 2-4 feet away and it is a "G" router.
#2: The other problem I am having with the Wi-Fi is the indicator will drop off of the notification bar, but when I go to the settings, the Wi-Fi is highlighted like it is connected, but there is NO connection stated under the Wi-Fi setting.
#3: The Wi-Fi will drop off of the notification bar and when I go to the settings the Wi-Fi indicator is highlighted indicating active, but again, nothing under the Wi-Fi stating what the connection is. So I choose the same connection it has been using and I connection will state it is out of range, when in fact it is 2-4 feet away, again, nothing changed. So I reset the router and it will try to obtain a connection, but says it is unsuccessful, however, the network states under the name that it is "Remembered". So I highlight the network and than I get a Disconnect. This is really becoming an irratating issue! It worked fine first 2 days and than bam, starts to go crazy. So is anyone else experiencing this issue?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI ahve checked the signal strength and its fine and 3G is working but still not connection. I had a software update come through recently which told me I needed to go to the Sony Ericsson website to update it.. I tried to do this and it appears I can only update it using a PC as its not compatiable with a Mac computer (which I have). I have tried running the software update on the phone and as it can't connect to the internet it wint update anything.. so Im stuck in a circle now.
