With my old phone the PC Suite allowed my calendar on my phone to import/export to my outlook calendar on my pc, but the new Sony E pc companion for the xperia mini doesn't seem to allow this! Am i missing something or do I need to down load something else? I can't believe in that up-dating my 2 year old phone I've lost out on functionality.

I've just upgraded to an Xperia X10 and it looks like people using Outlook contacts and calendar are not supported.
I don't want my contacts and calendar on the Google web server,
Am I really that unusual in not wanting my contact list and calendar contents spinning around the world.?
From what I've read so far there are third party applications that try to fill need, some focused on contatcs and some on the calendar.
Also, that these application add an additional, unexpected cost.
What I want is for the USB connection to provide the ability to sync with Microsoft Outlook on my local PC.
If thats not possible, it would be good to know quickly so I can take the phone back and swap it for one that will let me use Outlook.

I have tried it for a couple of days and it works great the best all round android phone explorer, it is free but has a donate option which to be fair.
The sony ericsson PC companion can only sync with its website and i don't want to put my contacts online. I tried this www.android-sync.com but it is at very early stage and does not work well. Heard of a companionlink.com but haven't tried it yet. Anyone tried? Any other good ones?

I use mine for work and sync up no problem using Moxier with my corporate exchange server.I want to also setup my personal email using another program. I have tried the stock email program (underwhelming) and K9. I cant get either one to sync with my outlook. I can set up my email address in them, and as long as my outlook on my home PC is closed I can receive emails. As soon as it is opened, emails arrive on the PC and do not show up on my phone.What am I missing? What is the terminology for what I want to do? View 13 Replies View RelatedI wonder if I can change the default settings for my calendar to "no reminder" and also to create an event in my calendar called "SonyEricsson" instead of the calendar named after me (since only the calendar called "SonyEricsson" synchronizes with sonyericsson's server and my other phone). Now I have to change to these settings for every new event I create. And if I forget to change the calendar to SonyEricsson I can't switch it later for some weird reason.
If this is not possible, do you know what else I can do? Explanations how to sync the calendar named after me, delete this calendar so SonyEricsson is chosen as default or any other suggestions are welcome.
I did not manage to access directly Google calendar from my phone. I had to go through the browser to see. Isn't there an app for that?
