Jun 6, 2010Just ran reset on my phone twice...it rebooted and nothing was removed! Never seen this before anyone have any thoughts? I'm on CM 5.0.7.1, and haven't seen this behavior before on that or any other ROM. Gonna boot into recovery and do it manually.

Jun 2, 2010A little advice please. i have been messing around constantly with my desire since i had it, about 3 weeks. Installing apps, uninstalling apps, etc, etc. It has become a little laggy, certainly not as fast as when it first arrived. The main things that concern me are how to backup all of my contacts, including their pictures. As this has taken me some time to compile. I have backed up my contacts to the sd card, but i dont think this does the pictures as well.

Jun 21, 2010i had to turn off the settings for the Mobile Networks MMS and data because it automatically connects to my provider and I am being charged and this usually happens when I touch on Timescape. I just dont know if its connected though but after doing so, after sometime my Messaging system prompts me up a message saying that there was an error (android.system.mms) and it needs to fore close and then after that all of my messages were automatically deleted including the message updates in the splines. I already went to the Service Center and the only thing they told me was it will be okay once I have updated to the new version which is the 2.1.

Nov 10, 2013I reset my phone (Sony Xperia P) to factory settings about an hour or three ago to clear up some of the junk that I'd accumulated, after restoring my contacts, messages , apps that I actually wanted etc; I'd noticed that despite still being on 4.1.2, there were a couple of things that were different about the phone.
The first one, is the menu that comes up when I drag from the left side of the screen, something which seems to bug out quite a lot, and generally seems a bit 'laggy' when ever I do use it, and sometimes after clicking an icon, nothing happens. The second, and probably more important thing, is the change of the 'swipe' lock screen I've noticed. Beforehand, when I pushed the unlock button, it would come up with the image I'd selected, and I could then swipe vertically to unlock it (with the picture opening like blinds from where I'd dragged). Now, upon unlocking, the default screen is my wallpaper with a circle encompassing a lock, which can be dragged left for a camera, right to unlock, or upwards to several icons to get to some apps (Chrome, Phone, the default e-mail, a magnifying glass (which leads to a 'This web page is not available' webpage on chrome, and Amazon MP3 - the latter of which I think is a bit random).
I can then swipe sideways to 'add widget' pages, or the other way to a 'social network in full' screen. I added a Skysports football widget, which appears in the middle of the screen, in front of a different colour screen each time (which can look a bit taccy), but can't seem to find how to remove it.
The 'social' page, although looking very aesthetically pleasing, doesn't seem to work. I'm logged into both Facebook and Twitter (however, not Instagram, as I don't use it), but it still says 'connect with' Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. When I try to log into Facebook, it comes up with a log in screen, which never actually logs in when I enter my details, and I haven't tried the Twitter/Instagram icons.
I imagine there are a few other things that I haven't noticed yet, as I haven't really messed about with it that much.
My questions are:
Can I remove the side-menu? Or perhaps make it less buggy? (the Facebook page takes me to a 'not available' page, which is quite annoying).
Can I change the lock screen back to the 'Swipe' I had before the reset?If not;
How do I remove widgets once added to the lock screen?
How do I get the social media page to work? That seems something that could be quite useful.

May 31, 2010I need to do a factory reset, unfortunately. I've backed stuff up - the only think I can't find is the photos I have set with my contacts. I've taken these photos with the contacts app, using the camera, and they are the ones that appear when an incoming call is made. However I've searched all the available directories, including the obvious DCIM, albumthumbs, etc, and can't find them anywhere.I want to save them - where are they?!

Nov 7, 2012I had some photos in the phone's internal storage, my friend did a factory reset on it, and now all of them are gone. I have tried nearly all available android applications like Undelete, Hexamob and Disk digger etc but no luck. Disk digger only found 3 photos.
The Huawei Ascend P1 has mass storage option and I have all the drivers installed but it doesn't mount. Only If I insert an external SD then it mounts. So recovering files using a PC software isn't working either.

Oct 12, 2010Okay so I know about the regular master reset process through the phone, and I also know about the master reset through the PC Companion. I have locked myself out of the phone with the pattern lock, and when it asks for the Google account it will not accept my username and password. I have reset the password through Google and still nothing. I tried to perform the master reset through PC Companion but when I get to the update screen it says internet connection failed. I have called the internet provider and they could not fix the issue. I just don't feel like having to send the phone off to SE because I really don't trust it at all. If anyone knows an alternate method of performing a master reset on the SE Xperia X10a please let me know.

Nov 22, 2010I just got the new 2.1 update (which is amazing btw). I use the 'email' application to access my hotmail account. I went on there to save some pictures my friend has sent me, it says that it saves the attachment to the sd card, but is nowhere to be found on my phone atall. I never had trouble finding them before, so as you can probably tell, im quite confused. I don't always have internet to check them, and they are veryimportant to me, does anyone have any intake, or helpful advice to give? Oct 28, 2010Very strange, phone has been working fine. Battery was fully charged this morning after it's overnight charge and phone was working. I went to work and took the phone out during my mid-morning break and it's dead. Attached it to the charger that I keep at work and still nothing after a few minutes. I took the battery and the sim card out. Battery voltage is 4VDC which is fine. Reinstalled the battery and tried turning on the phone with and without the sim card,, nothing from the phone, not every the status LED. Is there a hidden reset switch somewhere or is it pouched? The phone is only 2 months old so I'm sure my carrier will replace it if it comes to that, at which point I'll have to decide whether or not to replace it with another Xperia and or go black or white. Mine is black, but I really like the looks of the phone in white. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

When you update to 2.2, will 2.2 also be "baked" in internal memory so that whenever you hard reset you will always go to 2.2 status? I think it is, but please clarify?
