Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: WiFi Worked Fine But Not Connected To Home Wireless
Oct 29, 2010I had a new phone that the phone company forced me to block by not giving me the correct code for unlock (which I paid the phone company for), and they said sorry and after 5 mths with a new phone in a box (while in another country and not being able to use it), they decided to exchange the phone. They exchanged the phone and wouldnt give me a new one since the original problem wasn't reported before 7 days after purchase, but 9 days pff. The exchange is refurbished or something but is perfectly new looking and works amazingly well.
It connected to like 2-3 networks while I was away in that country getting the phone changed and now I'm back home and it will not connect to my home connection. I have changed every thing around and back and I have verified all settings, WiFi on and off. Hard reset - it will not connect. It says searching and then connection and then disconnected etc. Doesn't even say obtaining IP addy or anything. It doesn't say anything or give errors at all, it just will not connect.

Sep 15, 2010My girlfriend just got an x10 to match mine and for some reason every once and a while, the 3 buttons at the bottom completely stop working. At first I thought the phone froze but I could still use the on-screen keyboard and press whatever I wanted on screen but the 3 buttons wouldn't work oO This has NEVER happened with my phone.
After searching around a bit, I only found one solution which was "if you have a gel phone cover, take it off and see if it works." We tried that and it seems (so far, for an hour or so) that it's working fine. That doesn't make much sense to me as we have the same phone and the same cover - just a different colour. Anyone had this problem before? Should we be bringing the phone back or is there something I'm overlooking?

May 24, 2010I just got my white X10 a couple of days ago and I'm loving it! Well, asides for one relatively minor issue which is the appearance of Timescape on the home screen. I really liked the transparent look Timescape had with the SE logo prior to setting up facebook and email, etc. Now there's usually someone's FB display picture or an email being displayed, which is nice and all but I don't really like having to it all the time. I'd much rather see it when I want to by just tapping the tile and entering timescape as I'm a fan of the clean look it had before the setup.
I was wondering if there was a way to change the timescape widget's appearance to what it was before I set it up without losing its functions. In other words I want it to work the way it is now but have it look the way it did on the home screen before I set it up. To illustrate what I mean, I would like to change timescape widget from looking like this:

But the home screen(s) won't flip to the wide screen look when the phone is rotated sideways. All the other views i.e. settings, browsers, etc do this no problem, but the home screen(s) them selves are stuck in a portrait view.

Nov 13, 2010Checking out media players, I downloaded Zimly and Mixzing (thanks suze!) to compare. Both installed instantly but only Zimly appeared as an icon on the home screen. When I go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications they are both listed as installed, however I need to have Mixzing drop its icon for me to be able to use it from reviews etc I actually think that's the one I'll be keeping anyway, a clear case of sod's Law that of the two that one would be the one with a problem! I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, same result.

Nov 22, 2010I have x10 mini 2.1 since I updated to 2.1 any long press on home screen or corner icons goes directly to edit either widgets or icons depending wich screen I have up.This is anoying because many times I press just a little too long and for example end up in the edit icons mode instead of opening messages like I wanted to. Is there anyway to get this as it was on 1.6? Long press didnt open edit, the only way to open edit was trough menu key.

Nov 1, 2010I had mine X10i over 4 months now, no matter how I updated the version or reset the device back to factory default, the WiFi still did not work properly unless I re-start the device. The WiFi only can be turn on is when the device just turned on. If the WiFi connection got disconnected or was being turned off, then it can NEVER be connect it back or NEVER can be turn back on. This is killing me that I have to at least re-start my phone twice a day. Another thing is that if I don't turn on my WiFi at the time the device was turned on, then I never could be able to turn on the WiFi again. What is the issue with this function?

I always run into the same problem though. wired or wireless, i cant get it to connect right. wired never works in any way but i dont really care about that. wireless however shows some signs of working. it shows some data has been sent, not received though. and my computer will detect and connect to it, but seems to lose the signal after a few moments. when i bring up a browser it doesnt even look like something might load. it just says im offline. could someone help me with this?
The other part of this problem is i really just want to connect to my computers ad hoc network and use a wireless keyboard and mouse program. none of them seem that great unfortunately.. recommendations are appreciated. but my biggest issue is that i cant seem to connect to an ad hoc network. i believe my phone detected it only once while i was on the "white widow" rom, but could never quite connect..
