got the x10 linked to my wireless network to do the usual things. I have my pc upstairs and downstairs hard wired but want to be able to listen/stream from either of the two computers to my x10 via wifi. I'm using windows 7. I can see my x10 listed within the router config but other than that can't get any further.

Just upgraded to Android 2.1, all seems fine but a wireless network I could connect to and browse from prior to the upgrade is connectable but will not complete the page download.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to add an email account to my phone through the email button.I have also tried using K-9, but still no luck.I have added my gmail account with no problem, but would also like to add my yahoo email address.There seems to be a facility to do so.I have put my yahoo address and password in to the appropriate section, but the next page asks for my 'Username'.Any idea what the 'Username' means?I have tried putting in my yahoo email address, both with and without the 'yahoo.ca' bit, but I get an error message saying 'Setup could not finish.Username or password incorrect'.

2.Is it possible to assign a contact name to a photo that has been downloaded to the phone?For example, if I happened to download a few pictures of Zhang Ziyi, can I create her as a contact and get the phone to recognise the pictures as being of her?I don;t see a way of doing it.The photos are clear shots that include her face.Again, perhaps I have to do it through the computer?
I had mine X10i over 4 months now, no matter how I updated the version or reset the device back to factory default, the WiFi still did not work properly unless I re-start the device. The WiFi only can be turn on is when the device just turned on. If the WiFi connection got disconnected or was being turned off, then it can NEVER be connect it back or NEVER can be turn back on. This is killing me that I have to at least re-start my phone twice a day. Another thing is that if I don't turn on my WiFi at the time the device was turned on, then I never could be able to turn on the WiFi again. What is the issue with this function?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a new phone that the phone company forced me to block by not giving me the correct code for unlock (which I paid the phone company for), and they said sorry and after 5 mths with a new phone in a box (while in another country and not being able to use it), they decided to exchange the phone. They exchanged the phone and wouldnt give me a new one since the original problem wasn't reported before 7 days after purchase, but 9 days pff. The exchange is refurbished or something but is perfectly new looking and works amazingly well.
It connected to like 2-3 networks while I was away in that country getting the phone changed and now I'm back home and it will not connect to my home connection. I have changed every thing around and back and I have verified all settings, WiFi on and off. Hard reset - it will not connect. It says searching and then connection and then disconnected etc. Doesn't even say obtaining IP addy or anything. It doesn't say anything or give errors at all, it just will not connect.
I have successfully connected to netbook for file transfer with X10 but don't know how to connect to use phone as wireless cpnnection for mobile browsing.

Unfortunetly for us x10 users aren't able to connect to these by default. Your instructions on how to connect may tell you to change the EAP type to PEAP which isn't able to be changed in the x10's 1.6 gui. However it is able to be changed with the help of an app.WiFi Advanced Configuration Editor (or WiFiACE) is able to modify these settings for you. I have prepared a step by step guide to help you get connected to your network.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, There is an issue with my X10. We have a secure (password protected) wireless network at home which is hidden. Now the weird thing is that the x10 doesn't connect to it. When I get a new wireless device, I get the MAC address of the device, and copy it into the wireless manager, so that it's allowed to access the network. Then, i register the same MAC address into the list of machines on the network. Then I set the network to broadcast the SSID, it's still protected, but now everyone can see that it's there. Afterward, I plug the password into the device, and it's connected. Lastly, I stop broadcasting of the SSID, but the machine that was recently added now recognises the network, even though it's hidden. Even after the device has been disconnected, it will still see the network, and be able to connect to it. The weird thing, is that I have done this for all of the wireless devices, even the X10. Everything is fine, until I make the network hidden again. Then, even though the network is saved, it says "out of range".this has only happened with the X10. Does anyone have any insight as to what the problem may be?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently went through a process recommended by Sony Support to download latest software update to my X10 (depite the fact that the inbuilt update process repeatedly informed me I had the latest software.) Now when i use the inbuilt procedure od SETTINGS/About Phone/Software update/ Update Now (with the WiFi & mobile networks setting selected) my X10 helpfully tells me "your phone will now search to see if any new sofware is available". After a few seconds it then informs me "Could not update - network error".

View 5 Replies View RelatedPhone has been working fine for about 2 months with data, MMS and 3G with 3 POP accounts and 1 Exchange account all sync'd up and working. Then, on Sat at around 7:30pm I realized the phone was no longer getting emails (Outlook was chiming away but phone on desk eerily quite). Picked it up and noticed 3G indicator wasn't there. Recycled power - No change. Updated firmware to R2BA020 - No change. The APN settings are correct and haven't been changed since working. AT&T Unlimited data plan is in good standing. So, although nothing has changed, I can no longer get any data (email/web/facebook/etc.) nor can I send or receive MMS. All of these work if I turn WiFi on but not over the cell network.
