I have become frustrated by the action required to end a call. My screen goes blank and requires me to press left hand button on the phone to get the screen up and open before I can press the end call on the touch screen. Is there any way to prevent or delay the phone going into this 'closed' mode so quickly?

This was reported in the other thread about X8 Issues, but thought to start a new one to gather feedback from users. It's about the ''black screen'' freezing issue encountered by some users. I have had this several times since owning the phone for a few weeks, so it is a recurring issue. Problem: The phone hangs or appears to be shut down or become unresponsive suddenly. Pressing the hardware buttons doesn't help as the phone doesn't react at all. Solution: Take out cover and battery and restart.Observations: From my own observations, it's not actually a shutdown but a major freezing/hanging. Sometimes when it happens, I can still see vague shades of the display at an angle. After leaving the phone for a while in the pocket, the phone comes back to normal again. Not sure if this is true for all users with this problem. Anyway, gathering more feedback to see how prevalent the problem is, to evaluate whether I should take it to the SE service centre, or whether doing so will help at all.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my Xperia X1 since christmas 2008, About 2 weeks ago while i was writing a text and the screen went blank so i just thought my battery had gone. when i got home i put it on charge over night and when i got up in morning i tried turning it on and nothing happened (i mean that little vibrate it dones when it switches on), so i took the battery out for 5 minutes then put it back in and tried again and it did that vibrate thing but nothing came up on screen but then someone started ringing me (still nothing on screen) and when i pressed button to answer it, it wouldn't answer and kept on ringing. I've tried updating the software from my laptop and i think it updated it but i couldn't tell because i can't see anything lol but it's still the same. i haven't dropped it or anything so i haven't got a clue why it's suddenly stopped working.....
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had the phone for less than a month, worked fine up til about 30 mins ago. a message came through, went i attempted to read it the phone went blank. it wont turn on or off, and battery is internal so cant even do this. there is a green light still flashing, which indicates an unread message. ive tried calling the mobile from my land line and it goes straight to voicemail. any suggestions?

I have tried phoning my mobile from a land-line and I usually get through and from that point on the other person can also get through to my mobile
Have I done something wrong or have a setting set incorrectly?
I'm missing calls as people cannot get through to me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had the same problems with their X10's as me? When trying to make a call (to landlines or mobiles) my phone often cuts out with a 'beep'. Sometimes its after no rings, sometimes after 4+ rings and even sometimes after the call has connected. Each time, after i call the person back, it connects without a problem.
I've taken the phone back to the shop where purchased for a repair and tried factory resets and software updates but with no success. Any ideas anyone? I'd love to get this fixed because this fundamental flaw (possibly just with my handset) is ruining my X10 experience.
Both my x10 phones have problems ending calls..sometimes you have to push end call a few times and people say they can still hear me when the call as ended...have to be careful i dont say anything nasty about anyone straight after calls ..

So we downloaded both Fring app and tryed to make a call. once i tried the app told me i could'nt do videocall because of sofware limitation how come? View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a X10 Mini Android Terminal. The phone is very useful and delightful but i can't find how to delete some calls from the registry (answered, missed and dialed). The Phone just gives me the option to delete all the registry.
Can I delete some calls without erasing all of them?
If it's not possible with the phone itself, Is there another way to do it? Maybe dowloading an app from the Android Market?
My x10 has over the past day started cutting all my calls both in and out after about 30 seconds when i look it says there is no sim recognised then a few seconds later it's fine again, also when i try to do a backup it says there is no memory card registered even though i can access things stored on it when it's plugged into my laptop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got the mobile 3 days back.I am unable to make or receive calls on X10 from yesterday. Have tried the following things : 1) Switching Off 2) Updating the software. But both these methods have not helped. Able to use WAP/GPRS but calls are not getting connected. Have tried to change the call waiting settings, phone says Network or Sim Card Error.Signal strength is also pretty decent (3-4 bars). I have tried my sim in other phones Nokia, Samsung, and it works perfectly fine.Have tried other sims on X10 and they too are showing the same error. Can't figure out what the problem is?
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy x10 is fully connect to the internet and i am even receiving my emails. My problem is that despite this i can not make or receive calls as they just say 'call ended' before it even connects! when i try to ring my number it goes straight to voicemail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a couple of days the phone is unable to make or receive calls, or send or receive txt messages.If I try and make a call it attempts to start the call, but immediately comes back with unavailable. Incoming calls go straight to voicemail. Outgoing txt messages don't work. What is strange is that if I try and browse the web (over 3G) then that works fine! I have tried doing a network scan again, and reregistering to Tmobile, but that doesn't make a difference.
If I turn the phone off and on again, then it is fine and all calls/txts are working again. I have seen this 4 times now with my phone. It doesn't always happen, but it has happened a few times now which is worrying. The annoying thing is that you obviously don't know when incoming calls stop. You only find out the problem has occured when you attempt to make a call or send a TXT.
Recently bought the x10 and I am still getting used to it. One thing I have noticed is that when a caller not on my list is calling, I only see the number. When I plop my sim back into my old shitty LG VU, I can once again see the number and the name registered to it. Is this an x10 thing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I receive incoming calls, the caller, and even the phone number, doesn't appear to me, that is, the caller always appears as unknown. This means that I don't know who my missed calls are from if they don't get to voicemail. This isn't because of privacy settings on the other phones, I know, because some of the people have public numbers. Does anyone know what's causing this? And if you do, is there a way that I can fix it?
