Sep 16, 2010I have had the phone for less than a month, worked fine up til about 30 mins ago. a message came through, went i attempted to read it the phone went blank. it wont turn on or off, and battery is internal so cant even do this. there is a green light still flashing, which indicates an unread message. ive tried calling the mobile from my land line and it goes straight to voicemail. any suggestions?

Dec 2, 2010This was reported in the other thread about X8 Issues, but thought to start a new one to gather feedback from users. It's about the ''black screen'' freezing issue encountered by some users. I have had this several times since owning the phone for a few weeks, so it is a recurring issue. Problem: The phone hangs or appears to be shut down or become unresponsive suddenly. Pressing the hardware buttons doesn't help as the phone doesn't react at all. Solution: Take out cover and battery and restart.Observations: From my own observations, it's not actually a shutdown but a major freezing/hanging. Sometimes when it happens, I can still see vague shades of the display at an angle. After leaving the phone for a while in the pocket, the phone comes back to normal again. Not sure if this is true for all users with this problem. Anyway, gathering more feedback to see how prevalent the problem is, to evaluate whether I should take it to the SE service centre, or whether doing so will help at all.

Oct 24, 2010Have owned an xperia mini pro for about 2 weeks now. It has a problem that every few days or so the screen locks up and becomes unresponsive and the only way to reset it is to do a battery pull. My question basically is should I take it back to the shop, or is it likely to need to have android reinstalled or something?
It did this on the very first startup after unboxing, it froze up when choosing the language setting, so obviously it is unrelated to any other apps i have installed. At the time I didnt think it was too much of a problem but then as I say, it started doing it every few days.

My screen goes blank and requires me to press left hand button on the phone to get the screen up and open before I can press the end call on the touch screen. Aug 27, 2010I've had my Xperia X1 since christmas 2008, About 2 weeks ago while i was writing a text and the screen went blank so i just thought my battery had gone. when i got home i put it on charge over night and when i got up in morning i tried turning it on and nothing happened (i mean that little vibrate it dones when it switches on), so i took the battery out for 5 minutes then put it back in and tried again and it did that vibrate thing but nothing came up on screen but then someone started ringing me (still nothing on screen) and when i pressed button to answer it, it wouldn't answer and kept on ringing. I've tried updating the software from my laptop and i think it updated it but i couldn't tell because i can't see anything lol but it's still the same. i haven't dropped it or anything so i haven't got a clue why it's suddenly stopped working.....

Sep 5, 2010I'm just wondering if there is any way of turning the screen autolock off on my xperia 10 mini? It has always been an option available on other phones, you can either lock the keys manually or set an auto lock for them to lock after like a few seconds or minutes etc. Yet this seems to be missing from the x10 mini. I don't mind the screen switching off (to save battery), that happened on my last phone, but the keys (screen) didn't lock at the same time, you just tap the screen to 'wake' the phone again, and it should wake in its previous setting too, such as in the messages folder, or on a internet screen, or on the music player etc. Its kinda frustrating when you are in a lengthy text conversation and they reply just after the screen goes off and you are forever unlocking the phone when it is just sat on the desk in front of you. Same as if you are reading a document and you put the phone down then have to unlock it again when you come back to it. Its kinda annoying. I am more than capable of locking the phone myself when I want to put it in my pocket. Anyone else got any tips? I want to avoid putting the screen time out on 'never' because then I'll be forever locking the screen to conserve battery (and no doubt someone will text just after I lock it.

Nov 13, 2010Checking out media players, I downloaded Zimly and Mixzing (thanks suze!) to compare. Both installed instantly but only Zimly appeared as an icon on the home screen. When I go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications they are both listed as installed, however I need to have Mixzing drop its icon for me to be able to use it from reviews etc I actually think that's the one I'll be keeping anyway, a clear case of sod's Law that of the two that one would be the one with a problem! I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, same result.

I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! I would like just my phone contacts visible in my phone book. I've tried to back up contacts from before the software update yesterday, and it takes ages to get through to 100% but the names are still missing.

Nov 15, 2010I received my new x10 mini phone a few days ago and am really impressed by it.
But...
After the phone has been off, the camera works fine the first time I start it.
And if I close the camera application and start it again straight away it also works fine.
But if I wait for maybe half an hour or more and then open the camera application, the phone reboots itself.
This is very repeatable and it looks like there's something wrong in the software or so.

Oct 15, 2010I have an experia x10 mini pro and I am having problems with charging it. Sometimes it would charge then sometimes it wouldn't and it is already annoying the **** out of me. Another problem with it is that when I play music with it, it would just suddenly turn off by itself. I've tried to send it for fixing to sony ericson but they said that the problem is unfixable. And I only had my phone for 1 and a half month and im already having this problem. I tried to reason with the ericson people but they said there is nothing they could do.
If anyone has any idea on how to fix this.
