View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I save contacts to the memory card I get a file named 00001.vcf. When I open this file in outlook it seems to contain only the first of all my contacts. Can I open this file in another way to get all my contacts? Is it possible to import all my contacts to Pc Companion? When I syncronize the phone with this program I only get the bookmarks exported from the phone to the program. No contact is exported. I have already lost my contacts once and will be sure that I have saved them correctly.
View 6 Replies View Relatedgot notification of the update to 2.1; -- downloaded the latest version of Backup/Restore and did that before updating the phone. However, after a Restore, I can't find any of my contacts (I've read already that's a problem), but worse, none of the applications I had installed are recorded, and some (like iDestination) I paid a lot of money for!

First:Please make sure you get our latest version of the application from: m.sonyericsson.com/backup
Backup & Restore not installed on the x10 I just bought (Neither is Moxier).
Since Backup & Restore is a d/l from SE, not the market, ATT is barring me from even installing it.
How can I backup my phonebook to SD card? Any app required for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was having that "My phone does not turns on" problem, then I decided to repair the software. Using the PC Companion I've done all the requested steps. The problem is: when I try to restore the backup I've made I get the following error: "Could not restore files".
Even when I choose only to restore contacts, the "Applications" is also included in the restore list. Then the Contact percentage goes to 100%, while restoring, and the error message appears. I even have the backup .sbf file.
I wana buy 1 of these apps . I wana know which 1 is better . I am pretty sure I debranded my handest then installed R2BA026. Then I installed a generic UK 2.1 - 2.0.A.0.504 Firware through SEUS.
How do I get root access so i can use Titanium Backup?
I was told by my contact center that it was imporant to download the new version of the Backup & Restore application before starting the upgrade to 2.1, as the pre-installed version was out-of-date. It's available at m.sonyericsson.com/backup (browse on your phone). Otherwise you risk loosing stuff you thought you had backed up!

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have just updated xperia x10 from 1.6 to 2.1 (Rogers) and figured it out that all my applications were lost. Before the update, I installed the last PC Companion Software from SE and made two backups using the backup and restore application. After the update, when I tried to restore using it, there's no market application checkbox. Everything else (contacts, messages..) was restored. The paid applications are shown in the Market Download tab to install, but just that (because they are associated with google account).Nothing more. I lost about +50 apps with their user data.I searched all the net about it, but the only info I found it was that the backup and restore tool just save the application links. How about the user data? I reinstall some of the apps that I had, but no user data. Am I the only one that had this problem? Is there any advanced tool to try to undelete internal memory of the phone?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI updated my x10 today to 2.1. I used the backup&restore to restore everything (contacts, settings etc) 1. My android keyboard dictionary only contains the new words the dictionary learned therefore corrects everything to people and place names. So my android keyboard is now useless if I want to use auto correction. Can you please come please provide instructions to how to reset the Android keyboard dictionary? 2. When I restored my contacts back, only some of my contacts were restored. I believe that only some of my contacts were backed up initially and I believe that the contacts that didn't get backed up are the ones I initially imported using SE Sync from my old phone. Why is this happening? SE sync is an unreliable service that is in Beta phase. After I started using it to back up my contacts, it created duplicates and I had to stop using it. Can you confirm whether I'm right in my assumptions? Why only some of my contacts were backed up and not all? Does the backup & restore of the 2.1 behave the same way?

Phone has developed a very annoying buzzing/vibration during calls and Vodafone UK will be exchanging the handset tomorrow.
My question is, if I use the SE backup software will it backup everything? Apps, SD card files, settings etc. Has anyone had any experience of this, can you offer any advice?
I just bought X10 and i cannot sync my phone.. it says that the URL does not exist anymore...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two groups of contacts "MyContacts" and "Utilities". When I set up synching I selected to copy "All contacts".
Unfortunatey, when I look what's on my area on sonyericsson.com/wportal I see only the contacts from the group "MyContacts".
I.e. the site creates a false feeling of security - if I need to restore my phone from this site I will irrecovarebly lose lots of data.
I don't know is SE forgot to test their function or Android-hackers don't understand the features of the contacts.
All area of handling the contacts stinks seriously, and mkes you wander if the Android people ever used a mobile phone :
1. X10 does not accept contacts sent via SMS (VCARD-format), (or via MMS or bluetooth)
2. X10 does not sync with Outlook where most of business people have their contacts, and maintain them when receiving corporate mails etc.
3. The only way to get the contacts is to export from PC to a csv-file and import to gmail, and then sync to the phone. This is not that flexible due the export via csv. I.e. If I create cntacts in the phone they will not reach Outlook.
So yesterday I was able to update my x10 to 2.1, everything has worked perfectly. The only problem that i have is that when I close the "Backup and restore" app (I already restored all my data) using "task manager", the phone blocks the SIM card and I have to introduce the PIN again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was thinking about it, and i think it is, although the Satio has 12 Mp of camera and other phones are quite good enough, The Xperia seems to have the most balanced equipement between software and hardware, in terms of software it is very unique, that is one reason why i chose the phone, no other phone in the market look this good, i mean the menu and stuff.
And it is also the first choice when you look at SE site and search for a phone Sony Ericsson Products - Mobile phones. So what do you think, it is?, and if it is, how long do you think it is gonna last ?
I was looking around but can't find a GPS app that can do turn by turn instructions with voice.
Is there a such app that I can use with my X10? Or is there a GPS service with turn by turn voice instructions that I can sign up for?
