The PC Companion notice the new software for my phone so I done this and then SE showed update failed as like this photos. Can I backup the contacts, messages in SE website with USB?

I have some people from whom I have a lot of messages. I would like to back them up to a pc before I delete them, but cannot find any way to do this. Is there a way on the phone or an app that will let me back up MMS?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two groups of contacts "MyContacts" and "Utilities". When I set up synching I selected to copy "All contacts".
Unfortunatey, when I look what's on my area on sonyericsson.com/wportal I see only the contacts from the group "MyContacts".
I.e. the site creates a false feeling of security - if I need to restore my phone from this site I will irrecovarebly lose lots of data.
I don't know is SE forgot to test their function or Android-hackers don't understand the features of the contacts.
All area of handling the contacts stinks seriously, and mkes you wander if the Android people ever used a mobile phone :
1. X10 does not accept contacts sent via SMS (VCARD-format), (or via MMS or bluetooth)
2. X10 does not sync with Outlook where most of business people have their contacts, and maintain them when receiving corporate mails etc.
3. The only way to get the contacts is to export from PC to a csv-file and import to gmail, and then sync to the phone. This is not that flexible due the export via csv. I.e. If I create cntacts in the phone they will not reach Outlook.
I backed up my text messages to my SIM card in an attempt to make a text file from some text messages. Is this possible? If so, where would I find these messages?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried the to update software on my X2, and ota all went fine until the last step - installing the updates on my phone, there it failed with massage that it could not install and I should check my battery and then that I should try again after recharge. I tried after recharging and still the same error. Now I cannot even start my phone - after switching on it stops with SonyEricsson symbol and hangs there. I need the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I save contacts to the memory card I get a file named 00001.vcf. When I open this file in outlook it seems to contain only the first of all my contacts. Can I open this file in another way to get all my contacts? Is it possible to import all my contacts to Pc Companion? When I syncronize the phone with this program I only get the bookmarks exported from the phone to the program. No contact is exported. I have already lost my contacts once and will be sure that I have saved them correctly.
View 6 Replies View Relatedright so the bottom buttons were working fine, but the next day, the back button takes me to the home screen :S so if im on facebook, press the back button, instead of going to the previous page. and i also set up the draw thing to unlock it, but as it was raining a little it said i entered it wrong too many times and asked for the google mail thing... but i really have no rememberence of making one, which is so ******* annyoying.
the only way ive found out to solve this problem is doin a phone software update, however as my bottom right button is working properly, everytime i hold it down to plug the phones usb, the phone just starts normally, so basically i cannot do the system update.
Does anyone know how one can forward sms messages that are sent to me to my contacts?

I installed android 2.1 today but for some reason I can't restore my contacts.I followed the instructions on the sony ericsson webpage and used the SE backup software to make a backup of my contacts, mms, photos etc. When I restored everything after the update everything was restored except my contacts. How can I get my contacts back? Is there some way to extract them manually from the backup file or something? The backup software can't seem to restore them for me.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have put this on a few threads but it obviously only get read by a few people hopefully this will help backup your contacts in the phonebook, when in the phonebook press the menu key, then more you have the option to backup contacts select that and back them up to your SD Card, you can install them back from here after the update .SE Backup and Restore does seem to lose your contact list after update, it also appears to lose the apps.I found out after a previous update that backup and restore lost my contacts so this time I used the phonebook backup.It stores it as one VCF file, you just import it after update and it puts all contacts back as they were before.I only say it appears to lose the apps as I used it for this backup and there were no apps there but I had them on my SD Card anyway.Use the phonebook backup don't rely on Backup and Restore

I backed up my contacts, messages, call logs everything.When the phone was updated and I restored everything contacts are missing all the rest are there.A little background to know. For some reason Xperia X10 cannot read my SIM contacts from the day I bought it when we were on 1.6 so I decided to create an CSV file to add them to the mobile memory not to the SIM.So now what? After 2.1 upgrade it imported all my facebook buddies, and because I call everyone by nicknames it has duplicated a lot of entries. I've tried "joining" the duplicates together to get just the one entry per person, but it seems to randomly choose whether they are stored under their facebook name or the nickname I have for them. I've tried entering what I want them to be called in the 'nickname' bit under the contact 'edit' screen, but again it seems to be random as to whether it then uses this name to display them in my contact list.

The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.

I saw that there are already a number of discussions about sony erricson synchronization but I cannot find one for this specific message: Synchronization failed. It wouldn't tell me why it failed, it just spits out that generic message after I click "Finish" in the Sony Ericsson Sync Client Wizard.

Got a couple of 1-star ratings because of that, but nobody contacted me by email and I can't reproduce the problem in an emulator. It probably means 1.6 android. Anybody wants to help in testing? The app is a game called Slitherlink (Demo!). I don't know if linking to apps is allowed here.If you can test it please drop me a line. If you manage to get an FC I will ask you to install Sendlog (or any other tool capable of sending a log) and to send me the crash log.

It seems to send 2 items, then the sync shuts down and says 'failed'. I'm doing it via wi-fi, not using the 3G network, does that make a difference?
