If I fill out the address field on my phone, then it doesn't complete the relevant fields on the web site. The address fields on the web site are different to the phone and fields on the site are not supported by the phone's address book. It seems like the two are running different software and are slightly incompatible

Where do I change it?
Address Book Issue:
Suddenly after having it worked smooth for 3-4 days, I started getting a very strange problem which I was not able to search anywhere in forums or in the help manual. My address book search is not searching any contacts by the contact's names. It is just searching the emails, it's a huge problem for me especially when trying to send SMS to anyone, I can't go and add recipient by searching, I need to scroll the whole way down to that contact, which is irritating.
Otherwise the phone is quite nice and I am liking it very much. Especially the slide out keyboard is really usable plus unlike most smartphones, it's really small in size and performs most functions. There are some minor flaws but most of them are going to get fixed with the SE's much awaited software update for bringing in the Android 2.1, no doubt I am also waiting desperately.
I have set up my sky.com email address as the default email within the function of the phone. All working fine other than I don't seem to be able to import my address book into the phone email function.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was aware of the poor customer reviews of the x10's battery life, but it's turned out to be much worse than expected.
I will take the phone off of charge at 8am and ensure that no tasks or apps are running, not use the phone throughout the day, then by 3pm the charge level is around 30%. Often, if I don't start charging the phone at that point at work, the phone will run out of charge completely by around 4pm. I check throughout the day and tasks are not running, so how is the charge being lost so quick?!
This problem is not getting better: I read customer reviews saying that the battery problem improves after around the first month, but my case is the opposite - it started to get even worse after the first month!
I am also having a problem with adding contacts to the address book - all of a sudden it seems that I cannot add new contacts. I will add one contact, go back to the address book and see the new contact being displayed in the list, but when adding a second new contact both the first and second new contacts disappear. I do not have a problem with phone memory, I have tried saving to both SIM and memory, have tried backing up my address book in case that makes a difference, have switched the phone off/on again, but all to no avail. I have tried adding a new number to an existing contact and the new contact seems to disappear. It goes without saying that I have read the x10 instructions on this subject (and it goes without saying that I make sure to press save/done when adding the new entry).
It's got to the point where I am starting to regret choosing the X10. On the face of it, this is an excellent phone, but two relatively simple problems are ensuring that I feel like I own the poor man's smartphone (dare I say it, I wish I chose an iPhone now).
I checked with both my network operator and the shop I bought it from - unfortunately I am outside the 28 day initial period (I am in the UK), so the only recourse offered to me by the shop is to give me £20 to buy either a new battery or to buy a new cheap pay as you go phone so that I can return the handset/battery to SE. The problem with both options is that I am not confident that it will resolve the problem.
Anyone else had any issues like this?
On my old K850 I could connect it to my net book through USB and use it as a 3G modem. Any way to do this with the X10?

So everytime I am Restoring my contacts and again it gets refreshed. I even reinstalled my OS android 1.6 (as 2.1 notification i didn't get) even after reinstalling i am facing the same problem no contacts on my phone book.
Is there any solutions for this ..........? you all guys knows very well that if there is a problem with phone book (contacts) how hectic it is......... no use of using mobiles then......... i am missing the important contacts everytime.
so everytime i am doing back up and doing restoring........ I dont use any synchornized apps.... i use the "Back up & Restore" application which came along with my mobile and I haven't installed any new apps till now....
Note:
Actually before doing Factory Reset the phone book worked fine no refreshments of contacts happened.
Can anyone recommend an address book app which allows for full postal addresses, email addresses and phone numbers - and can sync with Outlook on a desktop PC. It would be useful if a touch on the appropriate bit of the file would start up a phone call an email or even a word processor. Phone is a Galaxy running 2.1
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if anyone has gotten their Motorola Android to share the phone address book with the JBL audio on a Toyota Tacoma. They pair up just fine.I go to the "phone book" nothing there.I go to add an entry "From Phone" it says "please start the transfer from the phone" which I dont see an option for.Someone suggested going to the Networks | Bluetooth then holding down the Car entry, and disabling then enabling the "Phone" entry Tried this, and it doesnt pair and doesnt work.Someone else suggested on the Droid, to export all contacts to a VCF file. Then get the Bluetooth file transfer, and when the car asks to transfer, enable the file transfer. The phone finds the car and starts the transfer but I guess the file format is not good as the car says "Failed".
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got the HTC Eris and transfered my contacts from my old BlackBerry to the new Eris. Everything's there, actually way more than I need (over 3970 contacts, many duplicates and such. I realize that there is the 'delete duplicates' function on Gmail's contacts page, but sync'ing of that many contacts to go back and edit the contacts that I would like to keep on the phone, has really slowed down the phone, eaten battery big-time and in 3-4 days only 501 contacts have come across. I really don't need that many and was only planning on having the people I call on a daily basis. So, I turned off the sync function on the phone and the phone is running a bit better, but having to scroll or search through that many contacts takes for ever to do.
I would like to find a sync conduit (that works with my PowerBook Mac running Tiger 10.4.11) that I could sync via USB my contacts off of this phone, edit the ones to keep, re-populate (replace) the contacts. At this point I would just turn on the phone sync function(with the fewer contacts) and let them populate Gmail. How is this possible? Many of the suggested downloads I have seen online haven't really stated that they work with my Mac OS. Is there a faster way to have the contacts sync'd up to gmail and maybe just edit everything up there on line?
I bought the Incredible yesterday and would like to know if there is software that will Sync it with my Yahoo Address Book on the Web?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the MotoX on AT&T. My phone's address book ("People") won't sync with AT&T's online address book over WiFi. When I turn my phone's WiFi connection off, I can sync my address book. When I turn my phone's WiFi connection on, I can't sync. I tried this several times.
I can sync over the mobile data connection, but not over WiFi?
I have just received an update with the latest firmware for the Mini Pro. My RoadSync still does not sync my Outlook contacts to the phone. Mail and Calendar works just fine but when I try to reach my contacts I am just presented with the blue menu, asking me to add users manually or to sync with Google etc. There are no more settings to set in the RoadSync application more than to checkmark the contacts - then they should "automatically" show up in the Android contact list, which does not happen. This is really a very big issue, making the phone almost unusable.

The last stock update to my Galaxy SII somewhat messed it up, it started running boiling hot, drining the battery without showing any CPU or anything. So today I installed the stable CyanogenMod (10.1.3) and so far it doesn't have this problem. Two important questions:
- how do I get my gmail address book inside the phone ? Under Settings/Accounts I only see CyanogenMod, and trying to add one gives me Corporate (Exchange), CyanogenMod (again) and Email.
- how do I get Swype ? It's not available from the Language&Input settings.
- how do I view the external SD card from the file manager ? It only shows the internal storage.
