recently the bottom buttons (ie. menu, back, etc) arent working as well as the side ones.I can only use the screen.Upon turning on the phone the buttons will work for a maximum 2 minutes and then I have to rely on the screen.I tried repairing and reinstalling everything but it didnt work.Ive also read that it could be from holding the camera button down but that is not the case.

I only got my X10 just over a week ago and the menu, home and back buttons on the bottom were randomly not working and it's only becoming more and more consistant. It's driving me nuts and it's especially frustrating since it's a brand new phone. I can't find anything on the internet and yes my phone software is upgraded. The guy at Rogers was like oh welllll guess you'll just have to wait 2 weeks until the next upgrade then MAYBE it will work again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've only had the X10a for about a week.Everything was working fine.However, I'm starting to have issues with the three menu buttons at the bottom.I will power up my phone, and the buttons will work for about 5 minutes.Then the two LED lights between the buttons will just randomly shine one time (even though I did not press a key) and go off.Once they go off, and I try to press a key, nothing works.The LEDs don't come on, and none of the buttons work.Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? This just started happening to me today.I really would appreciate any help, as I can't really use my phone right now in its current state!

I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! I would like just my phone contacts visible in my phone book. I've tried to back up contacts from before the software update yesterday, and it takes ages to get through to 100% but the names are still missing.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend just got an x10 to match mine and for some reason every once and a while, the 3 buttons at the bottom completely stop working. At first I thought the phone froze but I could still use the on-screen keyboard and press whatever I wanted on screen but the 3 buttons wouldn't work oO This has NEVER happened with my phone.
After searching around a bit, I only found one solution which was "if you have a gel phone cover, take it off and see if it works." We tried that and it seems (so far, for an hour or so) that it's working fine. That doesn't make much sense to me as we have the same phone and the same cover - just a different colour. Anyone had this problem before? Should we be bringing the phone back or is there something I'm overlooking?
I checked around for a while but couldn't find an answer tot his one. Is there any way to disable the hardware buttons when the screen is turned off? It keeps getting turned on in my pocket and draining the battery.

Everything else seems to be working okay. Tried powering off/up, also tried battery pull, still the same.
I'm close to opting for "restore factory settings", but I've spent some time customizing, and that's really a last resort.
Once a day my phone freezes to the point that the bottom buttons are non-responsive. The only fix is to reboot.Any ideas? There's no pattern - it can happen as I'm actively using the phone or as I start to use it after it's been idle for an hour.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy galaxy s2's screen has occasionally stopped responding, the os was still running and everything so it wasnt frozen, my touch screen just simply stopped working. Only way to fix it was to hit the back of the phone and do a battery reset. This issue started poping up more and more, and now it won't respond.

No custom roms/kernels have ever been installed, has always run off the stock. Never been dropped or had water on it (I took very good care of it).
The nav bar at the bottom (back/search/options/menue) and hardware buttons all work. Everything above the screen no longer works.
What iv done: I've reset the phone, did a bettery pull for the night, fully charged it, looked at the board and checked all the connections (all good). Would flashing a custom rom/kernel be something to try next? Why would the bottom nav bar work but no the rest of the screen? Could it be locked somehow? If it is.. how would I unlock it?
Whenever I try to connect my Xperia to my pc via USB port nothing happens. The problem started after I updated my phone's software not to 2.1 (as its not available for my phone as yet) but another update that the software said was available. Upon completing the update I then reconnected my phone to the USB port but then my computer said there's no drivers installed for my phone. I've tried letting windows search for drivers but no luck with that. I find this strange when previously everything worked fine and I could browse the files on my memory card, but now all I get is no drivers are available. I've tried searching for drivers on line, but there doesn't seem to be none. Is there any way to solve this problem?

I've tried using different security protocols and they all yield the same result, it cannot successfully obtain an IP address. Occasionally it would work, but most of the time it doesn't.

Firstly, the button on the side doesn't activate it. It does go into it from the apps screen though.
However, when you push the camera button to take a photo, it focusses for a brief time then it bleeps loudly and the focus square on the screen turns green. It never actually takes the shot.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI now have a problem with my battery. A few hours ago, my battery level was around 35%. A few hours later, it remained at 35% indication. Since this couldn't be correct, i restarted the phone. Now, my battery indication was 100%. False again. I turned the phone off. It wouldn't restart. I tried the 'flash device method' by holding back button and putting in computer USB. No help. I tried SEUS. After that, phone switched back on, with false battery indication back to 100%, which is impossible. I noticed that during all this 'fun stuff', my battery refuses to charge. The LED indicator remains green without flashing, the settings screen doesnt say 'charging'. I know that the phone won't charge below 95% battery. So, the phone thinks the battery is 100%, therefore won't charge, and I'm pretty screwed, especially since I fear that once my battery drops dead, the phone won't be able to charge ever since it will think its 100% full.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on 2.1 nordic on vodaphone uk. 3G was working fine using switch pro to turn it on and off, then I turn it on to download a MMS which it failed and now it won't turn on again! I've put it on airplane mode and changed between network modes that used to enable me to turn it on again in 1.6 but it won't do anything now. I tried turning on and off the arrows show for about 30 seconds then it stops. I had similar problems with 1.6 and that was the vodaphone 1.6 official version. Why is the X10 so crap with 3G?
I've tried numerous switchers on 1.6 and they all ended up stopping working after a while but I could always get it working again now it just failed. Is there anything I should be doing to get MMS to work properly and how do I get 3G back? Any settings I need to put into the APN settings even though it seems everything is filled in automatically by selecting vodaphone as my network. Is it a Android flaw in general or just the X10? I would be totally happy with this phone apart from this which I keep thinking has gone away then starts up again!
I just had my updates. However, when i re-download the Handcent SMS, i notice the LED notification is not working like before. I have ensure the LED notification is turned on with a reasonable frequency. Would like to know is it the Application problem? or is it the phone?

Any changes I do with contacts are however perfectly transfered to my phone. Is this normal ?? Why are the pictures not transferred ?
Also in Gmail and SE sync there is an option to insert birthdays for my contacts, but I cannot see them in my X10. Is there any option for this, because that would be very important for me.
