Nov 3, 2010Is there a way to update the market? the reason why I am asking is because I cant seem to find angry birds, even though on galaxy s (newer version market) it shows.

I also searched for eBuddy which I couldn't see in the market before and now I can.
I'm in the UK using a German galaxy with the H8 firmware.
Samsung I7500 :: No Market - 3G Not Working?
Sep 16, 2009I got a brand new, unlocked Samsung Galaxy about a week and a half ago. I had two immediate problems with the phone:
1. No Market
2. 3G didn't seem to be working
I fixed the lack of Market problem by upgrading to the H7 firmware. I was hoping this would also fix the 2nd problem, but it hasn't. I've also tried getting a new SIM card from AT&T, and this hasn't seemed to work either.
Obviously I may end up having to call Samsung USA at some point and request a fix, but not only might that mean I have to live without the phone for a long time, I have no idea if Samsung USA will even want to help me since I bought it 3rd-party unlocked and it isn't even officially in the states yet.
So if anyone has some ideas, that'd be appreciated. (And yes, the "Use only 2g networks" setting is unchecked)
Samsung I7500 :: Difficult Market Downloads?
Mar 10, 2010I seem to have a bit of difficulty with the market (ever since using Market Enabler). All the apps I choose to download just sit at "Starting Download" until I turn wifi off and on and reconnect to my network. Has anyone else experienced this?I've tried switching fake carriers a few times, which I seem to need to do anyway, cuz paid apps seem to disappear after a while.

Feb 16, 2010I want to see paid apps in but can only see free apps in the market - not a mix, only free apps. Is anyone else having this problem?I searched the other topics, but most of them talked about how they can't see certain paid apps, but I can't see any.I am in Canada and bought my phone from UK (O2). I'm using wi-fi to access the market, which confuses me even more because the operator codes don't even come into play with this.

Nov 8, 2009I've been reading how to get more memory thread where is suggested to run clearapps.sh script in order to remove unnecesarry applications on a great Galaxo ROM. I was wondering, is it possible that MarketEnabler depends on some of those apps, because after running the script, it fails to either restore settings from backup or set different provider. There is no force-close or freeze. It just pops up "working" box for indefinite time period without progres bar filling (I waited several minutes). The infobox can be easily discarded with the back button.

Mar 3, 2010Tried to get on the Android Market this morning - say about 2, 3 hours ago till now, but all it gives is "Network error, please retry" sort of prompt. Tried it with both 3G and wifi but the same error still pops up. Restarted my phone, no joy.
The data connections (3G and wifi) do work, I verified by checking my email and tweeting. So is the android market down, or is it just my phone acting up?
Samsung Galaxy I7500 :: No Full Market With Galaxo 1.6.3.4
Sep 10, 2010I installed Galaxo 1.6.3.4 a couple of days ago and since I'm a happy person! It's really a different phone.
Today when reading an article on the new google maps innovation (Walking Navigation, Street View), which are available with Google Maps 4.5, I tried finding them on the market and couldn't. I then realized I can't see any paid apps on the market after my Galaxo installation.
(I also noticed that the Google maps version with galaxo is 3.3)
So I've got two questions:
1) How can I "free" my market?
2) How can I install Google Maps 4.5 with the two gadgets above?
Samsung I7500 :: Enable Full Market In Stock JC6
Apr 9, 2010Since JC6 is a leaked fw I don't think Google will whitelist it so all apps will be available in the market. I know that Galaxo 1.6.2 enables a full market but somehow I can't seem to do so in 'stock' JC6. I'm running stock JC6 with IH8 baseband.
I searched the threads on this matter and only thing that comes close is this post from Kam. Somehow I can't change the fingerprint without adb remount. Is busybox required to adb remount?
Anyway is there any way to enable full market in stock JC6 with IH8 baseband without having to install Galaxo?
Samsung I7500 :: Can't Access Some Apps In Market / Not Appearing Because They Won't Run On 1.6?
May 27, 2010Between looking around here and on androidzoom, I found a couple of apps I want. Problem when I use myphone to access the market, it says that they aren't there. Specifically, I am looking for Launcherpro beta and Adobe Reader. If I find them in androidzoom and scan the barcode its not there either. Short of rooting my phone to install market enabler, is there anything else I can do ?? Or are these not appearing because they won't run on 1.6 ?

Jul 8, 2010My provider only permits me to connect to the internet via the web-browser. Only the web-browser works. I want to use the Android market, but it doesn't connect. Is there some sort of proxy I could use to get around this? I can connect to the market if I'm on my home WiFi, but not if I'm on my network GPRS.

Samsung I7500 :: No Desk Appear After Update
May 27, 2010I put my phone on NPS and saw that there is an update. I was so happy and hit "Update" button fast. After downloading, phone reset, boot starting but no desk apearing. Only "SAMSUNG" word flashing on screen. There was no reaction on buttons. Battery out and in, phone boot and same thing happens. Try updating again but NPS said that cannot recognize the phone. Recovery button is disabled. After short browsing on this forum I saw some that there is combination of three buttons for turning on download mode. I try that and it works, but didnt do anything before thinking and some consulting here. What are my options now? Personaly I would like to have official update, if not then roll back is good option, if not what can I do to hack my phone without loosing any too much options on my phone?

Aug 12, 2010I'm having samsung galaxy with 1.5 android right now. i heard that there's a firmware that updates it to 1.6..
1) Where can i find it?
2) Is there a tutorial of how to install it?
3) Do i need to backup anything before? and how? (maybe internet connection settings?)
4) Can someone please put a short summary about this update? is it worth updating? is it buggy?
5) Is it official?
6) Will i have the keyboard with the language i want? if not, how do i get the language back?

Samsung I7500 :: Can't Update Handcent SMS To 2.9 - 32
Mar 15, 2010In the market it said there was an update for Handcent, so I downloaded and installed it yesterday. When I went to use it today it said that it wasn't installed on my phone!
I tried re-installing it today - it seems to download ok and then starts the install. When I check the notification in the status bar it states:
Installation Error
Insufficient storage available.
I've never had problems with previous versions and as for insufficient storage, I have over 5GB free on my internal card.

Skipping to 6:10 - "they" told him about Donut in 2010 for "Moment", I guess Galaxy won't be getting it prior to Moment, if ever. We really need Samsung to tell us officially about Donut because if the delay is true, it is a major blow to early adopters of their Android phones.

Nov 7, 2009I just got my new Samsung i7500 Galaxy and try to connect to the PC, First my NPS rel 1.2.0 did not accept the phone, I could see it, I could se virtual disk, but not connet to the phone , NPS said "Not supported phone", I went to Update NPS, and NPS found rel 1.3.0. IJ1 which I downloaded and installed. Then phone still not connected. NPS displayed message- "this firmware not supported, only supported function is upgrading firmware", well that was easy :-) go to update in NPS, found new firmware version, and NPS downloaded, copied the old version from the phone to PC, and then uploading new firmware, it went all the way on the PC to 100%! and Success - completed.
However Display on Phone is still showing " Downloading..." and show a blue square icon in display, after 2 hours I took the battery out for 5 minutes and put it back in, and the phone goes back to "downloading " -
I have tried to :
Power off Hold volume down + call button + end call button and Volume down + OK (center of d pad)) + power
But this just "lock the phone in a mode with display off".
Any Ideas on how to reset the phone and start on again ? Do I have to turn it in to Samsung?
Samsung I7500 :: Any Way To Flash Official Update From Phone?
Aug 6, 2010I got the Galaxy from my mother (she switched to another phone), but she lost the USBcable. I found a way of sending files via WiFi to the sdcard, and also connected adb via WiFi, but I can't flash the new recovery because I'd have no WiFi connection in fastboot. Is there a way to flash an official update from the sdcard using stock recovery? I successfully entered recovery but there are no options, and I can't find a guide of any kind. I tried buying the cable, but none of the shops had the official one, so finally I bought a third party cable that only charges the phone through usb, but windows gives me some error and doesn't recognize it as a device.

I am in Canada and the phone is unlocked (I am using it with Wind mobile) and am wondering if there is an official update to different version of android (I had the magic before and it was all just done for me). Also does anyone know if the phone will relock, all the manuals are not in English so I am not sure the original carrier of the device. (The Samsung website only seems to list the L version of this phone).
