Samsung I7500 : How Can I Disable Lock Key?

Dec 3, 2009My Galaxy doesnt lock the screen anymore after i dial any number from my contact list.
The steps to reproduce the problems are:
- Turn on the phone
- Unlock the screen
- Press "Call" button
- Select "Contacts" tab
- Select some contact and make a call
- Press "End" button (dont need to wait the call to complete)
- Press the "Lock" button
- At this point, the screens turns off, but the phone doesnt lock. If i press any key the screen turns on and the phone remains unlocked
From this point, the phone doesnt lock the screen anymore, even after the lock timeout.
To workaround this problem i need to restart the phone OR use a task manager to end the process "Dialer", so i presume the dialer application is preventing the screen to lock.
Actually im using GalaxyHero v1.1, but i had the same problem since i bought the phone with the original Android version. I upgraded to IH4, IH8, II5 and others, restored to factory defaults many times, but the problem persists with all versions.
Samsung Galaxy I7500 :: Need Lock Button Hack To Unlock This Phone
Jul 19, 2010While taking apart my Galaxy I broke the copper ribbon to the lock button and now I cannot unlock the phone! Is there a hack or other way to unlock this phone? It currently has Galaxo 1.6.3.3
I can probably boot into recovery and flash any zip but currently I cannot get to the home screen as it is locked so Lock 2.0 or other Market app is not a solution.

Sep 11, 2009Is there anyway that you can get the screen to "wake" from just touching one of the softkeys and then enter the screen unlock pattern, rather than having to use the dedicated lock button on the side?
It's pretty annoying, especially if the phone is lying on the table and u just wanna look at the screen you cant just mash one of the softkeys.

Also, either way, when I unlock the screen and go into wifi settings, I see that the phone is trying to make a wifi connection, but it never succeeds, even though it's my home network and I'm in the same room as the router. Oct 23, 2012I just bought a Note 2. The only reason I bought it because on iphone I wasn't able to hide my apps without jailbreaking. I was really looking forward to some on android market that would allow me to hide certain apps and password lock them along with password locking settings options. Yet I have not been able to find any. I have a few apps that I want to hide from my family and friends.
I would rather not root my phone as I am not that technically advanced!

Jan 23, 2010The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?
I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.
Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.

Mar 18, 2010Sorry if this thread seems inconsequential but I have been rendering myselves sleepless nights over the past couple of days ( and nights ) due to my inability to choose between the above two said android phones. I like the i5700 for its zippy 800 MHz processor and that its got the 2.1 update. I like the i7500 for its 5 MP camera and flash + a larger screen to play with I would have gone in for the i7500 but have been hearing about Samsung deciding against not updating it to version 2.1 which can off course be done taking the un-official channel. Moreover the 528 Mhz processor is certainly lagging.
But still I see people in here Going after the i7500 .... Adding to it there is more threads and discussions going around on the i7500 as compared to the i5700. Am I missing something in the i7500 or is it just that i am a stupid newbie ... I have gone through many many pages of information on this thread before posting this query.

Nov 21, 2010I have a samsung vibrant. Every time i plug it in its charger, the lock screen will not lock amd if m doing something, the sensitivity of the screen will be thrown of. It doesn't do that if i plug,it,in a computer usb, it doesn't,do that and charges normally. Is that a wide spread issue.

Jun 12, 2010We recently purchased the Moment for my daughter, she has had the phone for 2 days. It seems she does not remember the lock pattern and we have not signed up yet for a gmail account. We have tried holding the left and center button then holding the right after a battery pull but when the progress bar comes up(grey) it goes a little over halfway then stops, it never finishes. I have done a search and came up with nothing else. She has 2.1 if that helps.

I just installed beautiful widgets and I have a nice clock now, but I'm wondering if there's any way to hide the notification bar. I saw in the thread where everyone posted their screens that many of them didn't have the notification bar.
