It's via work, and on a business tariff that boasts unlimited data.After a couple of huge bills, it turns out that apparently 3g data is unlimited, but 2g data is charged at the usual eye-watering rates. Phone Bloke is checking with O2 whether they are serious.In the meatime, I'd like to disable 2g data connections.I can't find a way to do that.

Jun 27, 2010Strange thing happened.When I try to disable the cammera button ( Galaxo+ settings ) it doesn't work.In fact all it will do is force close on me. Everything else in 1.6.3.3 seems to be behaving quite well for me, even taking pictures.Haven't had the pixelated or no image thing at all.Is there something I am missing that I could try ?

Dec 3, 2009My Galaxy doesnt lock the screen anymore after i dial any number from my contact list.
The steps to reproduce the problems are:
- Turn on the phone
- Unlock the screen
- Press "Call" button
- Select "Contacts" tab
- Select some contact and make a call
- Press "End" button (dont need to wait the call to complete)
- Press the "Lock" button
- At this point, the screens turns off, but the phone doesnt lock. If i press any key the screen turns on and the phone remains unlocked
From this point, the phone doesnt lock the screen anymore, even after the lock timeout.
To workaround this problem i need to restart the phone OR use a task manager to end the process "Dialer", so i presume the dialer application is preventing the screen to lock.
Actually im using GalaxyHero v1.1, but i had the same problem since i bought the phone with the original Android version. I upgraded to IH4, IH8, II5 and others, restored to factory defaults many times, but the problem persists with all versions.

May 19, 2010I have turned off the phone sound, turned off the shutter noise on the camera, but it still beeps (and quite loudly) on focus lock when using the camera. Shouldn't there be a way to turn off/deactivate/silence that beep?

Motion of the headphone jack (e.g. while walking with phone in pocket) can be sufficient to trigger events that shut down music player or cause it to skip tracks. This is a major usability issue.
I'd like to disable those events or somehow configure the music player to be insensitive to them.

Jan 23, 2010The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?
I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.
Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.
