Just got the vibrant a few days ago and I'll probably lose my job because I cant put the thing down, what a great phone. Now the question I see it comes with avatar, having sold that p.o.s. tmobile htc hd2 winmo 6.5, is there a way of finding the transformer movies to install on vibrant, or is that unethical?

I'm curious to see how these are selling. I have this feeling they are not selling very well do in no small way to T-Mobile's complete lack of interest in marketing this phone. On launch day for instance at my T-Mobile store they made no mention of the Vibrant AT ALL. No displays, posters, floor model unit to play with, nothing. I see ads on tv constantly for the Evo and even the obscure Garmin phone that 3 people bought. I've never seen an ad anywhere for the Vibrant though.

Now I can't see any of them when I connect the Tab to my Mac using Android File Transfer. I can see the movie files are there in the Tab under Applications/Google Play Movies/SD Card. But I can't when I tether the Tab to my Mac.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe vibrant is advertised as 16gb internal memory, however after all of whatever is on the 16gb we're left with about 12.75 give or take of room left. Now i see that 2gb is apparently reserved for apps and the like, while the other is for music,movies, and so on. here is where my questions begin...
What if I have more than 2gb of apps and games to install? Will it not let me or will it partition more room? I think its kind of stupid to have a phone with this much internal memory and only let 2gb of it be for apps and games, that is absolutely stupid. I may consider activating my 14 day buyers remouse should this be the case. (and its not really 2gb, its 1.58gb)
I do plan on getting an 8gb+ class 4 or above microsd card, can i install apps to this WITHOUT rooting? or is rooting needed?I really, REALLY, hope im not screwed over with only 2gb of wiggle room for apps and games. that will definately put a halt on things.
I've just read this on android community.com.."When you say "only 2GB", this is plenty. Most apps are well under 5MB, so you can easily install 500 to 1000 apps on your phone.Android 2.2 is due out for these phones in September, which allows you to move apps onto the 14GB partition if you need/want to."Any truth to being able to move apps to the bigger partition? Becuase this would definately put my mind at ease.I also read that its not your choice if you can, the developer has to enable it in said application. so that it gives you a choice of where to save it, or you can move it at a later date.
I did notice, however, that Asphalt 5 was 8mb but required 103mb of additional data to be downloaded. i was worried it would save it to the whimpy 1.58gb of space but alas, it was smarter than that, and saved it on to the 12gb part. But if the option in all/certain apps is to save it to sd (or in the vibrants case, the 12gb partition sd space, or an external SD card) that would be HUGE.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Vibrant and all I want to do is upload my photos that I've taken. I plug in the phone in the USB and it tries to install the drivers. But each time Failed. What am I doing wrong? I've only had the phone a week. I am ready to take it back.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWell i tried out a rom (backed up first) didnt like it. so i restored my backup and now my phone is stuck on the vibrant logo. the tmobile ding plays but nothing. and for some reason my phone wont go into download mode and ADB wont work on my pc. it comes up and disappears rapidly. it open in cmd prompt but nothing.

The one thing Samsung is doing, is the media hub which allows you to download movies to your galaxy s. 1. I plan on going South Africa. According to this site, both the phone and 3g should work perfectly right? GSM World Coverage Map- GSM Country List by frequency bands
2. I have seen an app to unlock the Vibrant. It is by DaGentooBoy from XDA. Its called Samsung Galxy S Unlock. Would it be better for me to use this app or to just request T-Mobile to give me the unlock code. Are there any pros or cons for using either method.
3. If the OTA update or Froyo don't come out before I am gone, will I be able to get an OTA over wifi while I am in South Africa. Just to clarify, I will be using a local sim over there. I will discontinue from tmobile when I leave the US I know nothing of rooting. This is my first smartphone, so if possible I would be hesitant of doing any updates via the computer that requires me to loose all my info. I have too many apps and saved games and settings to download again so its just a scary thought of loosing it all.
4. Will google navigation work overseas. I have heard people say yes and no. I am hesitant to buy apps like co-pilot as they cost a lot and have mixed reviews, so I wanted to find out about this.
first:i flash my rom for bionix 1.4 for vibrant t959 now i have no radio since i cannot connect to the bell network for i dont know why
second: when i connect my phone via usb , the computer detect it fine but the phone suddently disconnect and a battery logo is flashing on it when i unplug it i have to turn the phone back on ...
third what is the best rom should a put on this phone
