Does anyone else's Nuance take about 14 to 15 seconds to open? I would like to use the voice command function, but with it taking this long I end up just using the phone's interface to do what I need, such as calling someone.
Also, is there any way to set the dialer as the default when you press the phone button? It goes to call log first, and I can't figure out how to change it.

I know there are several posts about battery life this technically isn't one. I'm just curious how long a full battery charge takes?
My phone is currently "off" and plugged in. if i click the end button the little battery chart shows that it is charging because the meters are still climbing up. does it ever tell you that your battery is full?
This has been an issue since the first day after I installed all my apps via appbrain (roughly 300). It takes ~36 seconds for it to open. I am starting to think I am the only one experiencing this. Does anyone have any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have over 621 contacts on my Samsung Moment and everytime I launch the voice control system it will shut down immediately. I have gone through and edited the contact list and even wiped the phone out. once the contacts were gone the voice control system started up with no issue. Is the problem linked to the number of contacts and if so is there any work around?

I don't talk on the phone while driving (and sincerely wish you didn't either). While playing around with 2.1, I gave Nuance a try and I'm baffled. Has it always been this bad? Even with 1.5? I got near 100% incorrect when trying to make a call. Only once did a name I said get into the 3 name list, and it wasn't even the right person. What did I do wrong? If I didn't do something wrong, what possible use does this app have?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Nuance program on my Samsung Moment recognizes everything I say except for the word "yes". For example when I say, "Call Candace" it asks, "Did you say 'Call Candace?'" and when I say "Yes", it waits for a moment then goes back to my home screen. If I say, "No", it proceeds to the next name that sounds like what I said. If I say "Yes" to the next name, it closes Nuance and goes back to my home screen. I have gone through the Adapt process. Sprint has tried to fix it and ended up giving me a new phone. Samsung has been stumped by this.

I kill every process but voice control keeps coming back. my battery is only good for 3-4 hours as of this morning. battery died once, charged it, and i'm now on my spare!

I listen to podcasts a lot on my Moment thru the cassette tape headphone jack in my car. I use Meridian for my podcast player. Starting about mid day, when I plug the headphone jack into my moment with a podcast loaded into Meridian, the $%#in Nuance Voice control activates and asks me for a command. Then, seemingly unprompted, it will open up my music player and start playing a song at the same time as the podcast. Then, after I've killed the music player, when I unplug the jack, it does the same thing. I've tried rebooting, and it's still doing the same thing..
Just got the phone and loving it so far but im having major issue's with You Tube, Most video's take about 5 mins to load in low quality and in high quality it can take upto 30 mins or more which of course by that time the phone locks and the video has to restart again.
Any suggestions as to why it takes so long? Also is there a setting for video's to automatically start in high quality? And for the phone not to lock?
I am running 2.1 on galaxy S and its one month old phone. I have installed 16Gb Sd card. I have installed lots of applications on the phone and i think coz of which the phone has become really slow. If i go to task-manager---> Summary, under program it shows 456MB/516MB. Is there a workaround to keep all the current apps on the phone and also increase the spee of the phone. For eg;- when i hit the phone key, it takes 5 sec to open the keypad/calllog window.

View 10 Replies View RelatedFor quite a while now, people have been saying how long it takes for me to answer my phone, even though it's usually on my desk and I get there after a couple of rings.
So today I tested it out. I rang my mobile number from my landline, it connected and started ringing, but it got to about six rings before the LED on my mobile started flashing and a further two rings until it started ringing!
I'm on T-Mobile, but it seems to connect OK, just take a while to register on my phone. Obviously this isn't the end of the world, but I use my mobile for business and it doesn't make me look very good!
YouTube videos takes longer to load. My browser sometimes doesn't load web pages completely and the speeds are way slower then 3g... Well atleast on my end... I'm in Baltimore and 4g is very much up and running. Not ranting, its just that 4g was one of sprints selling points, jus think it could be a bit better.

Is there away for it to download it better instead of stopping every few seconds to buffer more. This way it can be smoother. There has to be some way to do it my storm that didnt have no where near as much memory played them better.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI posted a thread about my battery life earlier this week, and I thank all the for the help! Here is another issue I am having that may be related. My phone takes forever to charge. Example: used my phone heavily this morning from 5:30 am till around 9am. Came home, battery was down to 15% or so. Plugged it into the AC charger around 10am, went outside and mowed the yard, etc. Finally checked the phone around 4pm, and it was still charging. Battery was showing 90% or so. Shouldn't it fully charge in around 2 hours or less? I did some research and found some people having charging issues after they upgraded to 2.1, which I did right after I got the phone. I did check with my local RS where I got the phone, and the guy I spoke with has a Hero, and his does not do this. He suggested I go to a Sprint store and have them look at it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIt wasn't long so I never paid attention before, but since the upgrade to 2.1 it takes my Moment around 2mins and 50secs to turn on (from black samsung logo to home screen) and about 50 secs before gps and everything is loaded up and ready to use. I timed it to find out if this was normal.
How long does it take your Moment to power on and load up?
Has anyone run into any issues? I read somewhere that a guy heard that it might brick it? Any positive or negative feedback? How do you feel it stacks up to something like Beautiful Widgets?

One picture took around 10 minutes to send. My apartment has bad reception, but when I sent these messages I had 3g and 3 reception bars. Is this normal?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince I installed (might just be a coincidence but I did update Maps via the market) 2.1, Google Maps takes so long to update when showing directions. For example I'll be in one street and have walked to another and it will still show me in the previous street after 30 seconds or so later. Also I noticed today when using it, that the arrow wouldn't move and just stays in one spot but the arrow does change direction though.
I could have sworn it wasn't like this before and I could just use it like a real gps unless I've overlooked something.
Also I get the "Current location temporarily unavailable" message all the time when searching my location unless I tick the Use Wireless Networks in the Location settings of the Hero. When I had 1.5, I didn't need to do this and just used GPS satellites.
What am I doing wrong here?
When you're in the browser long pressing on the back button takes you straight to the history page, very useful.

Using Launcher Pro, if that might be causing it. I don't think it was doing this before the last Sprint update, but don't know if that's the cause either.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy HTC is really slow! When I receive a new message it takes about 30seconds to even open it, then a further 30 or so to wait for the keyboard to respond. I have tried deleting the messages from my inbox and starting fresh, but am slightly cautious about just giving it a factory reset!
Also, when i am finished a phone call, as I take the phone away from my ear, it flashes on and off, meaning that I can't actually put the phone down! The only way to do it is to take the battery out of the back and start again!
Overall, I'm not very impressed with the phone, its supposed to be suitable for a businessman, but I can't even get it to work as a personal user!
We have 4 other people in the house with the same phone and none of them are experiencing these problems.
When i go to manage applications, to uninstall for example, the list takes AGES to load like 15 seconds its like the phone has crashed because it just hangs then it finally all appears. Sometimes it is instant, other times it takes ages is this normal?
View 7 Replies View Relatedso i just put 2.1 on my phone and for some reason i cant open the maority of apps i download. most of the ones not working are live wall papers, but there has been a few others. im running helix. any ideas how to load those live wall papers. and why random apps would not open? it takes me to the market from the notification sreen and the open option is greyed out.
