Where can I find a list of how much space my apps are taking up? I'd like to see how much more memory I have on my phone and on my SD card. Do the apps store on the phone or the memory card?

I am making application in android just like the google finance. My first step is to show the market index summary, I have search the api list. But I could not get any api related to it. I do not want to use any java script. I need basically links this example if I put the symbol as GOOG it should display the information like this.

I have a widget in my app (in single choice mode) and the list is longer than the screen so it requires scrolling. There is a lot of space above and below the text so I think that space could be reduced (and the font size) so that everything fit without scrolling. I haven't been able to figure out how to reduce that space.
I'm also trying to get a single checkbox below that list and i tried making 2 listviews on top of each other on the linear layout but it didn't work.
What is Lazy List? This folder appears on my SD Card with over 7mb of randomness. This folder appears out of no where. I've deleted and it seems not to hurt anything (probably should know what the heck I am deleting first, heh) but anyway after deletion it comes back again but it takes a little time.
One might think it appears to be tied from a market app however I only started getting this after rooting. (I think) I download only well-known popular apps from the Market. My hubby has the same apps and does not have this folder.I've searched google and the answers I get are all the same.. The same question with no definite answer. So anyone know what this is? What is causing this folder? Anyone else have this folder? It's driving me crazy because I like to know what the heck is on my SD CARD.
I know there are similar threads covering this topic but it seems that they have not been updated. I have been trying to keep up with the threads to see what problems are encountered/fixed but Do you think we could have a running list that can be updated as fixes are found?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI didn't like having my phone numbers showing up in my email contact list, so I turned off contact sync and deleted all the phone numbers from my iGoogle contacts. I do not seem to be able to manage my contact list in my phone, however -- none of the default numbers are the ones that I chose for my previous phone and seem to be in a random order -- and I wondered if putting them into google online would be the way to manage them. I don't send email from my gmail account and don't really need them anyway.
I deleted the emails in my contacts and turned the sync back on. However, I got an error message saying that to sync I had to delete 34 contacts. I assumed this was my phone list, and I didn't want to do that! I thought I told it no and cancelled it, but I just went in to call my child's daycare and my contact list is empty. Is there anyway to get that back? Or am I stuck with repopulating the list all over again? Also, do I have to use the online google to manage the contacts? Or is it in the phone somewhere and I just haven't figured it out yet? After this, I would prefer to not try synching them again.
Is it true that using a Task killer, actually opens your apps. I have noticed I will power on my phone and all of my apps will be their in the list. Also I have heard that that means they are ready to use but not neccesarily on. However, I kill all the tasks and still some will open a minute or two later, when I didnt open them. Its starting to bug me. I have Bettercut, with a few programs with different icons, and have beautiful widgets on one of the screen, with the silent, vibrate, and airplone widget. Swiping screens is really slow and laggy, I am not rooted or anything. I have the c14 update, is their any helpful way to fix this.
Also I will only have 30 Mbs open after 5 minutes of restarting the phone.
And don't say whats the big deal, if its working. Having more memory available makes apps runs smoother and faster.
I want to create an app widget that could take up a different number of "cells" on the home screen, but I don't think that the app widget framework easily supports this. I know that an app widget can have a configuration screen, and I'd like the user to be able select a sort of small, medium, or large size for the widget as part of my configuration activity. Unfortunately, I don't think that this is possible, correct? Based on the minWidth and minHeight properties, the Launcher app will assign a number of cells that I can't configure at run time.
For instance, if I want a weather widget that has a current, hourly and weekly format that take up 1, 2, and 4 cells respectively, I can't do this at run time. Instead, I believe my only option is to export 3 different widgets and have them all listed in the widget picker dialog as something like "Weather - current conditions", "Weather - hourly forcast", and "Weather - week long forcast".
What are the 4x1 app widget sizes for WVGA and FWVGA in both portrait and landscape?

It's my understanding that designing three unique interfaces (ldpi, mdpi, and hdpi) would be the best way to go about supporting all the potential android screens with minimal scaling/distortion.
Yes, I know there are similar questions posted, however... If I create an image for the benchmark mdpi (let's say my image is 300x210, just for example) how to I determine what size I will need to recreate that image at ldpi & hdpi? This post as well as a google search leads me to believe that ldpi is just 75% of the mdpi image, and the hdpi is 150% of the mdpi image. Is this accurate?
I am rooting my phone and there is a list of safe apps to remove. One was a terminal app and it says to remove it so I can install a functional one...so I was wondering what a terminal app is for and if I should be looking for one.

If there was any app that would allow me to control volume of various other applications. One thing I really loved about my old Blackberry is I could set up a profile that muted everything except calls. When I go to sleep at night I want to be able to get a phone call in case of an emergency, but don't want to hear my email/twitter etc. Apps going off all night. Is there anything out there for my Moment that can accomplish this same thing?

After flashing and reinstalling the apps using MyBackup, I am left disappointed that the data that goes with the apps didn't make it. View 15 Replies View RelatedI am currently running CL14 stock with Open Home and I wanted to let you security conscious folks know about a security issue I discovered. I hit the end button and pulled up my phones lock screen. Decided to test the new emergency dialer and when I pulled that up Open Home had force closed. When I hit end it returned me to the main screen w/o me entering my combination. I assume this could happen with any force closed app so although it's a rare issue that something FCs in the background it is possible and is a security issue. Just a heads up.

I started receiving an error message randomly today from HelixLauncher: The application HelixLauncher (process com.helixproject.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. It prompts me to force close then I receive the same error message yet again.
I cannot access anything on my phone as this error message renders anything on the phone almost completely inaccessible. I don't understand why I've randomly gotten stuck with this error message. I'm guessing my only option is a hard reset/safemode reboot and eventually re-root; this application seems to fuel a large part of the current 'root' I am running.
