I am a new moment owner and like it so far, has anyone heard or think they will have any icon flash for missed text or calls as part of the 2.1 update or has anyone heard of an application?

Well I made the jump from Blackberry to the Droid Incredible and so far so good. Just a couple of questions: 1. Is there a keyboard available that is similar to the blackberry? Or can someone recommend a good keyboard? I could live with what it has, but would like to have something different. 2. I loaded Handcent and it worked great BUT- it doesn't show a new message indicator on the App Icon on the home screen- only shows a notification in the Notification bar. Is this correct?

The application says not to use the flash "too long" or damage may occur, but the "too long" time period is not defined. First, will having the flash on for an period of time damage it? Second, if so, any idea what maximum period of time would be "safe?"
View 19 Replies View RelatedI just saw my first review on the Epic for Sprint and saw that it has an LED flash and an LED indicator for missing calls, etc. Why would Samsung give Sprint users a better phone than us? I sure would have liked the LED's on my captivate. Man that makes me upset. Why wouldn't they have all the same features on every phone in the Galaxy series.
View 18 Replies View Relatedi dropped my moment in the toilet (yea gross), grabbed the phone a second after and took it apart, etc etc did the rice trick, it shows a screen that says its charging when i plug it in but it still doesnt turn on what color is the battery water indicator supposed to be? i've read that red means it got wet, mine is white, but my friend showed me his battery indicator and it was white with red spots. he said that's what it's supposed to look like on a working battery (his isn't an android phone though) ps. dont worry i had already flushed when i dropped it

Does that mean that i'm no longer connected to 3G speeds?
With my (gasp) macbook pro..... i dont have access to a pc, and would love to find out how to flash my moment on a mac.. i tried the bootcamp route, but both times it messed my hard drive up..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've found some other threads discussing the fact that the default shortcut for Facebook is actually just a shortcut to a browser bookmark for Facebook. If you delete this shortcut, you can re-create it, but it has a boring red flag icon. With a custom bookmark app, you could restore this original icon... but only if you know where to find it. Where is that icon stored? It has to be somewhere on the root of the phone. Using root explorer, I can't find it. I'm guessing it's stored inside of an archive somewhere. Any ways to search more thoroughly?
Related: can I somehow use my PC (Windows explorer) to browse the root of the phone?
Or, can I find it somewhere in the original .tar file containing the flash update for the phone?
(running rooted 2.1 DD10, FWIW).
This may just be nit picking but..
My Gmail notification icon is an @ symbol, like the default mail app.
Unless I'm confused at one point I could have sworn that it was an M over a little envelope.
Is there a way to change this? or did it change when I had my phone updated to CL14?
Is there anyone here that knows if the samsung moment is gonna support flash with the 2.1 android update? Or is it coming sometime in the near future?

I will acknowledge that this is very insignificant, but for some reason it is driving me crazy. When I first got this phoe, I deleted the original espn, cnn and facebook shortcuts that came preloaded on the right screen. I have since come to realize that I check espn A LOT and I wanted the shortcut back there. So I added a bookmark, but the original icon that came preloaded just looked a lot better, does anyone know if there is a way to get the original icon back without doing a factory reset?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI noticed at some point after the upgrade to CL14 (done via sprint) that my flash on the camera isn't working. This could have been happening before the upgrade but i doubt it.
Anyways so the camera doesn't light up the flash. I saw it light up the flash once since I started troubleshooting but thats about it. I switched back and forth between flash on/off a dozen times or so.
Downloaded momentflash. Low and behold i started the app and it worked! Then i tried turning the flash on again and no luck. So i uninstalled, rebooted phone over and over again, no luck. I then did some reading and realized there was a widget. Put that on the desktop and again the FIRST time i ran the widget the flash worked. then it stopped again. I haven't been able to light it up since then.
I haven't been able to do much troubleshooting when it does work, but it doesn't seem hardware related. it stays on until i hit off, but i didn't get a chance to wiggle it around to see if contacts needed cleaing, etc...
Just wondering if anyone had any ideas? I don't think its any apps i have installed as i have pretty standard ones and had those on when it was working ( i believe at least).
i also tried killing all my running apps to see if any were causing conflict, then restarting momentflash and it still wouldn't light it up...
any help would be great, I don't really know what else to try. Looked at the android logs and nothing jumped out as having an issue.
I could probably try hard resetting but don't want to restore the phone again if i don't have to.
I am totaly new to doing flashes and everything to cell phones. Last night I put 2.1 on my phone and it worked wonderful! Today I was going to root it with SPH-M900_MR2_DD03_REL-joeykrim-recovery-2.1.3.tar. I started up the Sprint Uploader thing and when it reached the actual updating part the USB cable got disconected form the computer. When I tried to turn my phone on it says "Cannot find .jpg or png!" I have tried to re-flash it but everytime it gets to the uplaod it freezes and has "?

View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning 2.1 dd03. I've had a few issues, the worst being-
- Occasional complete data connection loss with no 3g/1x icon (never with 1.5)
- Google voice search works from the soft keyboard but prompts "server problem" from the widget.
- Tower based location puts me 20 miles away from home in the same place all the time (cj05 days are here again).
- Phone turns on by itself when charging and occupationally unlocks and stays on (never in 1.5)
- Phone seems to heat up more and burn battery more rapidly (vs 1.5) when in low or no signal area.
Here's the new one I had this morning. I received a call, but when attempting to answer dropped/lost the call. I went to the call log and re called the number, connecting with the other parties voicemail. After leaving a message, I hung up with the red hard button. After a short time I tried to call again, but the phone wouldn't connect (stayed on dialing). I pressed the red button to cancel the call and then pressed again to turn off the phone. The screen would not turn off. I could navigate the home screen and pull down notifications, so it wasn't locked up, but I couldn't turn off the screen. The red button would quit apps, so its press was registering, but a long press didn't bring up the power off menu. I had to pull the battery to power down. This is a long way from a release OS version. Fix soon.
